Monterey Bay doesn't want you. You're not experienced enough for Lodi. I always enjoyed Bay Area Skydiving and Skydance. Wherever you go, call first. Shit happens. And it usually happens because of physics.

I "track" down the hallways between meetings at work. It may be the most productive part of my day. Shit happens. And it usually happens because of physics. -

Come South. Stay around Orlando and you can hit five or six different DZs. They will all have something going on over Christmas/New Years. Call ahead and see if one of them strikes your fancy. You will need to do a recurrency jump. Talk to the Instructor and ask him/her who to jump with after that. They can point you to a Load Organizer that will set you up. Go to Fitz if you can swing it. That will be a good opportunity on many levels. The fear never goes away. Right now it is about the jump. Eventually it will be the fear of forgetting the third point. To overcome that, only jump with people who can't remember the second point. If you come South, I have a list of those people. Relax. Enjoy. Make friends. Shit happens. And it usually happens because of physics.

Is this true? Their website does not say anything about the Allure of the Sea having a tunnel. Retrofit? The Anthem of the Sea does, but its cruises for the next year or so are all listed out of New Jersey. Shit happens. And it usually happens because of physics.

Not so sure. They both use to talk about going up to mount Pilot. Shit happens. And it usually happens because of physics.

The "45 degree rule" for exit separation DOES NOT WORK
flyhi replied to kallend's topic in Safety and Training
Formerly jumped near a technical school where they used Pi/4 radians rule. Heard the 45 Degree Rule shouted to the newb behind us on jump run this past weekend. It was from a former TI. Yikes. Edited for operator headspacing. Thx Piisfish. Shit happens. And it usually happens because of physics. -

Never been there, but how busy are these places? That is an incredible lift capability. Shit happens. And it usually happens because of physics. -

Technically, you have to wait on that whole San Andreas thing before Arizona is on the West coast, don't you? I had a really good experience at Perris Valley with packers, instruction, aircraft, et al. They also have a tunnel on site. Not sure about the housing, but you can check on that. Shit happens. And it usually happens because of physics.

To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar Shit happens. And it usually happens because of physics. -
Where I work we actually have a style guide. One space after a period. Best hack of which I have ever heard: if you have a required word count in a paper, type what you want, copy and paste what you need at the end of the paper to reach the limit, change the font color to white. And, yes, I know what an ellipsis is . . . and I am not afraid to use it. Shit happens. And it usually happens because of physics.

People who have paid for ALL of their jumps
flyhi replied to mik's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Did that come with a free pack job? 3300 jumps. ~$65,000 US (2.3 million Thai Baht, roughly. That really makes it sound like I'm a playah.) Shit happens. And it usually happens because of physics. -
If you want some video of you jumping your Crossfire2, let me know. I have a state-of-the-art Beta video setup that is kick ass. Shit happens. And it usually happens because of physics.

I always liked jumping with Mike. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and knew how to slot people to get the most out of them. There were long stretches between my jumps at Z-Hills, but Mike always remembered and welcomed me. I read that he was a fifth grade teacher. I did not know that. I guess that's why he worked so well with skydivers. He stood on the playground and watched how the third grade teacher handled students. Aloha too soon to a good skydiver, a great man, and a true friend. Shit happens. And it usually happens because of physics.
