For decades the chief business of the United States government has been to wage war. In order to wage war it must have enemies. If there are no enemies, it must create them. The adoption of a "universal" plumbing code has created issues with many DIY sites and people pretending to be plumbers, as well as issues with many ignorant plumbers as well.
