I have a firefly 2 piece that is long enough i tuck it down deep inside my pants and cinch up the belt. I had a spinning malfunction about 3 yrs ago.I could not cutaway because the lift webs had drawn up tight together do to line twists,and ripped the zipper on the jacket apart and pulled it out of my pants. Jacket was wrapped around the handles on both cutaway and reserve handles . Your worst nightmare come true! By the time i could fish my hands under the jacket and had both handles in hand i was at about 11 or 1200 feet ,by the grace of god the line twists undid there self just as i peeled the cutaway handle. had a 135 vengence main. My next jump the next morning with my other rig 135 sabre 2 had a toggle unstowed.I had to chop that one. I put graphite on my ftp hinge .And i read here somewhere that someone had no problems with the ftp cutaway system . I can argue this a bit. The system has to be shimmed properly for it to work at all. I had major problems with 2 of my ftps not cutting away and i put a post up about it somewhere along the way here. Make sure it is practiced a few times a season . Why is it you call the century .3 baby death? I read up on it some and the spec said it had a resolution of 650 lines. I bought a raynox hd 3032 pro and the resolution it says on the box is 520 lines at the center. Wouldn't the century .3 fisheye be a better hd lens for my hc-1 or cx-7? I would go with top mounting both side by side on an over sized plate. They should be fairly well balanced this way (no weight on the front) it sucks mounting the still on the front because you will have no access to still camera controls and viewing while in the plane etc etc etc... My current helmet photo attached, is very functional. What is the field of view with the nikon 1.5 crop factor? I'm considering the new sigma 10 mm for canon digital.It has a field of 163 . Possibly the 10-22 canon too, but the field of view isn't as wide on it .
