Do a lot of ground shots experimenting with settings. Pick a shutter speed like around 160 to 200 and then do some different shots adjusting aperture up and down to achieve your best all around results. Adjust your fill flash power according to how close you will be flying to your subject then . Remember if you underexpose your image you can usually always brighten them up in photoshop, but if you blow them out or (overexpose) its harder to fix them in photoshop. Use the information graph on your display to help with this . On sunny days i use usually use iso 100 , shutter 200, aperture f13 or f11, 1/4 to 1/8th power on my flash no defuser depending on how close my subject is (tandem or aff) 15mm sigma lens.. Remember there are (pressure changes) ,humidity or (condensation),wind, etc etc etc... Nobody puts a camera thru hell like a skydiver. These are all key factors. It's just that canon's have been around along time in skydiving like sony video camera's. Remote switches are readily available for canon from www.conceptus.com . Other camera's have to make there own making things harder,if you have a switch malfunction you can usually borrow a switch from a buddy or buy a new one right there at the dz. I carry several but they usually end up getting sold to somebody or or collect dust. But i'm always prepared with extra stuff. I shot some video and stills about 8 years ago of Jason Bell with his rino cam (www.vertical-visions.com) If i dig for awhile i could find some photo's of it . He even did some base jumping with it in europe. I believe 12 way exit with him in the center to get everyone in the video. Like he said what kind of video's are you doing with it? For tandems and aff i-movie is great easy and fast to learn. Final cut express if you want to do like boogie video's and stuff to get a bit fancy...
