My hero 3 black has locked up numerous times on me in the plane on the ground etc. etc. etc. I have done the firmware updates and nothing has changed. I have the battery extension on it as well. I'm sick of it already, my old hero 2 was good! I had a firefly jacket zipper rip apart on opening one time, it blew the jacket completely covering my handles and had my head pinned down and spinning like a mother! Couldn't find the handles since they were covered i had to peal the right side of the jacket and grab the cutaway and fish like hell for the other one. Last thing i saw was a front yard and house looking at me while facing the ground. Does anyone know the photo frame rate while shooting video at the same time? I have searched thru the specs but don't see that any where in the specs? What i did find but it does not give a simultaneous frame rate? I have a sigma passenger harness with a busted spring in the top clip. i dremel the rivet of it. Now if i could find a spring to go in it and another rivet? Any ideas people? I tried the mic and still same problem, didn't improve it at all. We have been having to refund money due to this issue and it sucks! I'm in the process of trying to get go pro to replace my cameras, we'll see how that goes? I don't think i should have to buy new cameras over this though. I have a go pro 1 and go pro 2 on a double glove and the audio is horrible. I tried a piece of terry cloth and also a piece of neoprene taped over top the microphone and its still terrible! i have mostly wind noise with very little if any voice (even under the canopy) Any ideas? I payed all the money for anti reflective coating , all bells and whisles. Still garbage glasses though, frames are flemsy so the lenes pop out of them real easy and the nose piece is soft and bends to easy. Adjusting the frame to fit tighter isnt going to work either, been done already by the optition here! They just wont work for skydiving. They are noline bifocals lenses but its like looking thru a coke bottle! I bought the outlaws and they are pretty much worthless . Can't use them for skydiving at all and the lenses keep falling out of them. Like looking thru the bottom of a coke bottle, and reflections from and thing all over the back side of the lenses. I can see my eyes looking back at me. Wasted $640.00 on those! I shoot outside video with a wireless mic system, so it captures the reaction after the opening . But it s pricey and is a pain to move from one student to the other. Another thing to do is cover the back side of the camera view finder. You will sometimes get a blown out shot or dark image as well due to the sun shinning in the view finder. I used mine today on a few jumps and thought the quality and color looked awesome! I would never use it for a helmet mounted video or still cam though. For hand cam stuff it was great! Helmet mounted video and photography should be with an slr and good glass, along side a sony video cam!
