  1. I think the white looks good though.... not sure what else I could put in there? How about this one?
  2. Hi Gary, The order will be coming to you! I'm the Tom that's been e-mailing you about buying a rig with a Vector. Tom
  3. Hi, Designing a rig.... How do you guys think this will work out? http://img120.imageshack.us/my.php?image=vector3ts7.jpg Thinking of just keeping it simple and going with http://img522.imageshack.us/my.php?image=vector3bwxj1.jpg Any feedback? Cheers! Tom
  4. Sorry, yep - I'm 70kg. My canopy control has been complemented by instructors and not yet criticised - no problems at all!
  5. Hi there, 300 jumps, all in 18months, now mainly wingsuit, bit of freefly, bit of everything else. Flying a Sabre 2 150 at the moment, love my canopy control. Did Brian Vacher's safe flight school. All nice landings. If anyone with 300 jumps came up to me and asked the same question, I would be shouting 135!!! You'll kill yourself! But then, the Storm is a 7 cell, has a powerful flare, and the PD website lists it's recommended maximum loadings as a 120 at more of an equivalent to a Sabre 2 150 than a 135! So, would it be stupid of me to get a 120? Or is that an acceptable move. Cheers, Tom
  6. Some-one enlighten me how this is done then, please? http://youtube.com/watch?v=R3GOkkAjgjw Something about "glueing down the optical stabilzer"? Any more detail, anyone tried it? Cheers! EDIT: Just seen this: Apologies, didn't realise it had been discussed before, search actually didn't get anything I guess there is no solution for us non-pros then! http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?do=post_view_flat;post=3221943;page=1;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;mh=25;
  7. There's no way the CX7 is "obselete" already - it's been around a year! It's one of their "flagship" cameras!
  8. Cheers Phil, that seems a good solution. Is that just a wooden block cut and stuck? You just do that with a lump of wood and a jigsaw? I don't have the setup yet, but would hope that the lens doesn't overhang the front of the helmet (if that makes sense), as then it's not going to be possible to do this. If that were the case, I'm not going to jumping it with a multi-element lens on! (At least not yet anyway...) Tricky thing is, no-one knows what a top-mount CX7 on a Fuego Pro looks like, as the first helmets with that cover are on the production line right now (mine being one).
  9. Hi there, I have a camera set up on order, and have been looking for a lens for it (see my other thread). I've decided on a Raynox 5050 as it's HD, and here in the UK it's cheaper than the low profile Royal lenses (as well as better quality). I'd love a century 0.55, but I can't afford to pay import on it (you can't buy them over here, would import from B&H), and they won't send to certain addresses. Anyway. Is the Raynox going to be too much of a snag hazard? Relevant info: Setup - Sony CX7 topmounted on a Tonfly Fuego Pro. Cutaway system installed. Me - 200 jumps, 100 within the last 2 months, continuing to jump at a rate of 40 jumps/month over the summer. Sabre 2 170, moving to a Sabre 2 150 soon, probably before I start jumping camera. I've seen the lens in person, and it's BIG, but will topmounting it help at all? I guess that would reduce the chance of an entanglement, or is it only going to help reduce riser strikes? Or neither? Cheers! Tom I would have put this in my old thread, but it's not been discussed before and is a totally seperate issue IMO!
  10. Hi again, Sorry to bump this, but I still have no idea what I should be getting. The Raynox is too big. I've seen it in person, and I don't want to put a snag hazard like that on my head when I'm only on 200 jumps. The century stuff I can't find a suitable lens - everything I can find is silly expensive. The Royal is nice, but I don't want to spend £140 ($280) on a lens that isn't even HD quality. So what do I do? Is there a cheap lens that I can buy to tide me over until Royal et al come up with a low profile HD lens? Or do I just have to buy the existing Royal lens and accept that I can't film in HD quality? Cheers, Tom
  11. My CX7 box from Tonfly is due to ship in a week or so They are making the first boxes right now - guess they will be added to the web site in the next couple of weeks. Mine will be topmounted on a Fuego Pro. I'll upload a pic when it arrives!
  12. Hmmm. I understand your points. However- I only have 200 jumps, and can't always fly super close to my buddies for freefly etc - I wouldn't be able/comfortable to hover just above the burble in a 4-way. HOWEVER, I will be filming from inside 4 ways more than I would outside. FS/RW isn't a big thing for me anyway - I'd rather be freeflying or under canopy!
  13. OK, I really don't know what to get now. 0.3? 0.5? I don't know.
  14. Great! Cheers guys, great and rapid advice as always! Really appreciated - now I just have to wait on my helmet (being delayed whilst the new HypEyes are shipping out to be installed...)
