  1. Is anyone using their FF3 as a work horse for tandems and AFF? Looks like a really sweet helmet I would like to buy. Are there issues with sighting between the video and still? I fly on my back so I think the target will be ok, but I am thrifty these days and wana make considerations before I spend big money. I currently fly an Optik top mount video with stills in front. The weight of a digi camera in front is guna wear me out, so I am opting for side mounting a smaller camera. I can side mount on the Optik, but if I opt for an HC camera (which is longer than a PC) I worry about the lip on the side of the Optik (riser strike) getting in the way of mounting the box. Do you like the fit of the helmet? Is it comfy? Can you think of any issues about the helmet i need to consider before leaping into the purchase? Thanks Que sera sera
  2. I burn in the +R format using the memorex brand. I usually don't have many problems. There is some good information about the different media out there....you know the "get what you pay for" stuff. Read it, it's pretty informative. http://www.videoguys.com/DVDburn.html Whatever you do, though, don't buy from shop4tech online. They have bad service and they media is poor quality. Que sera sera
  3. One is a CRT 17 in, the other is a Samsung LCD, 17 in, but I took the Samsung back and am going to replace it with a Sony. I've read better reviews on the Sony....but 6 of one, half a dozen of the other. When I hit the lottery, maybe I'll replace the CRT. Comparing screens side by side....it really is unbelieveable how much brighter and nicer the LCD looks. Que sera sera
  4. I had to do the same..My buddy fashioned me bracket out of aluminum and it it very sturdy. Looks very much like the picture posted on this thread. In my opinion, if Bonehead is going to sell products that are capable of top mounts, then they should also market a bracket that will be compatible. I had bought a bracket back when they sold them, only to find that the d box was too long for the bracket, so I returned it. You have to be inventive in this sport, or have buddies who are. you never seem to be able to get exactly what you want all the time. Que sera sera
  5. For anyone considereing setting up a two monitor system...EASY. I installed a dual input AGP card and wam bam alacazam. No rummaging around in DOS to disable anything. XP makes it very easy. My mouse easily moves from one screen to the next. So, there you have is sports fans. Get r done. Jump while you can. Winter is coming. Que sera sera
  6. It sounds pretty straight foward, not necessarily rocket science, but I always wind up mucking something up in the long run. I'm not sure what kind of adapters you're talking about, though. Que sera sera
  7. Oh, I'm sure I can figure it out in the long run, particularly if XP makes it easy to do that. Que sera sera
  8. Well, I don't know the speed of the agp slot. Where can I find it? Que sera sera
  9. I do have an agp...which i heard is better. So, the disabling the board card is the difficult project, huh? Que sera sera
  10. I'm buying another monitor and said to myself, "Self, why don't you just hook them up together so you have more real estate". So, here I am justa wondering how to set this system up. I have even stumped my computer tech at work. I have a couple of people looking into it for me. My current card is on the board. So my question is, can I add a pci card without hassle or is it a little more involved. Que sera sera
  11. I think you need to heed the warnings of your fellow jumpers. This is a dangerous sport that should not be taken lightly. Point Blank.....WAIT TO GET A HELMET. Get more experience!! There is no hurry and plenty of time to video later on. But if you must....stay out of the incident reports!!!!! Que sera sera
  12. I have an old alti V. Is there a way I can convert it into a pillow/chest mounted altimeter. I'm not very creative when it comes to these projects. Que sera sera
  13. He's an ass. SEX< SEX< SEX. Get over it. One thing I will say, He's been doing the same thing for years. So why now??? Janet sure has raised the bar. Never did lke the guy. Que sera sera
  14. Nobody mentioned parachute pants. How can you forget parachute pants. What about the leg warmers? The good ole days. I'm not sure if I miss the 80's or not. Que sera sera
  15. YEAH.. Go manual. That dishwasher cost you a hell of a lot of jumps. THINK!! Hell, become a parent and you have built in dishwashers. Que sera sera
  16. I'm reattaching my steering line to my toggle and I can't remember how to tie it to the toggle. If you don't use it you lose it, I guess. Any directions or pics out there? Que sera sera
  17. Bot what a pessimist you are. But, hey, more than 50% of heterosexual relationships are in the toilet. Wouldn't it just be a shocker if the homosexual marriages stayed together and blew that statistic right out of the water. Que sera sera
  18. I see that you have stirred the pot. This issues is quite the debate. Would it be debated in some tribal communities in Africa or other cultures for instance? Perhaps not. As Americans, our forefathers have defined for us what we "should" believe. Over the generations we have come to accept these traditions in our culture because our ancestors have passed it down. Ergo, the debate on the whole gay marriage thing. I think for most of us it is difficult to accept a sibling relationship or any other familial romantic relationship because most of us have defined the kind of love that family should have for one another. And for much of the population, this would apply to same sex couples. I think that if there is romantic love between family members, something has seriously gone wrong within the household. To have a relationship with a family member means that other basic needs are not being met. As defined by our culture, there are certain roles that a parent or sibling play in each others lives. To adulterate these roles must mean that there is something lacking in the lives of these people. A father fallng in love with his teenage daughter for example....does this mean that he is a pedophile or that his bond with his wife is not strong, etc. This father is failing to give his daughter a "dad". There is no childhood for the daughter, she has stepped into the role of a wife. Something has gone arwy. With same sex couples, it is different. For one thing, many people feel that there is a biological predisposition at the forefront of this lifestyle. For mosy homosexuals it is not a choice but simply a way of life. When you meet someone and fall in love, a serious relationship usually comes to living together or forming a civil union or marriage. Is it fair that a homosexual couple living together for 20 years in a loving and monogomous relationship be denied the same rights as their heterosexual counterparts? Why should a lesbian woman be made to testify against her partner of twenty years simply because they are not married? It is a legal right for married couples. Why should a gay man be forced out of the decision making process of his dying partner simply based on the fact that they are unrelated or have no legal marriage. Should a distant family member who ousted the dying man decide when to pull the plug, while his loving partner of ten years sits idly by, helpless with no decisions in the process? If a marriage is defined as a union between a man and a woman, then it was not defined properly to begin with. Marriage should be defined by the vows you take when you stand before GOD....to have, to hold, love cherish, etc. As we have seen, heterosexuals do not have the market cornered on this concept. Incestual relationships are inherently dysfunctional as a more pure and unromantic love is warranted. No they, should not be given the same rights because it is a relationship of a different nature. This is an interesting topic. One that certainly arouses deep thought. To make this into a constitutional issue is pure stupidity on the part of Bush. He is basically saying that the constitution should excluse a minority group from equal rights. Let's get him out of ofice before he really screws things up!!!!! Que sera sera
  19. HERE. HERE!!!!! Get him out of office....QUICK!! He will destroy us all. The white house needs an excorsism. Que sera sera
  20. I don't believe there is a difference from the Sony DVC blue packaged tapes and the red packaged premiums. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong. Last year I bid on tapes through e bay and walked away with some good prices. Que sera sera
  21. Go with the manufacturers recommendations. Sony says to use Sony tapes. Really you can't go wrong with them, anyway. I don't think the difference between tapes is all that noticeable. Que sera sera
  22. You know, it is important to save tapes at least for the season. I have found that several times I have needed to go back and redo a tape for someone because they ruined or taped over the first tape they bought. Ilike saving stuff anyway. You never know what kind of footage will be useful for the future or look good on the "best of tape" at year's end. Que sera sera
  23. I bought a used rig with a pillow and on a couple of jumps after opening I noticed it had fliiped under the harness. I didn't like this one bit. I'm ordering a new handle. Besides, I like the fact that I can reach my fingers in the loop and pull. It's a more secure feeling. Que sera sera
  24. I just can't believe that he would waste all of his time, money, and energy, full well knowing that he doesn't have a chance in hell at the presidency. Hopefully, voters will be smarter this time around and not be lured by him. But then again, I wonder about the intelligence of our society as a whole. After all, they did put Bush in the white house to begin with. If we want the "Bush regime" gone, Kerry is the ticket....Nader sould be endorsing an electable candidate. And so it goes. Que sera sera
