  1. I have no problem with the inverted still. I actually have a stronbophrame that I have used with my video on my first helmet. I love that thing!! It does make nice for quickly removing your stuff to reload film, etc. Que sera sera
  2. Be careful. If you shoot video and someone gets hold of it by accident, make sure you get your peice of the pie if it is perhaps sold to a big tv show for profit. If I shot the video and someone else is selling it, yeah, i'm going to be ticked off, but be darn sure I'm going to get a peice of the pie. Protect your valuable footage from sharks. Que sera sera
  3. Ok, I will try the simulated approach.. By the way, cute name you have there, Boobie Thanks for your suggestions, I will let you know how it turns out. I may take you up on that aluminum, though. Que sera sera
  4. Well, I just put the helmet on and sort of imagined (with measurements) wherer the camera would be, I suppose it really isn't that bad. Do the cameras both sight in fairly easily with the flushed bracket approach? Que sera sera
  5. Sounds interesting, but If the aluminum is flush with the top of the helmet, wouldn't it make the still camera sink lower on the forehead and push it more into your field or view? Seems to be that there almost has to be some type of lift (bend) in order for the still to stay out of your face. Any thoughts? Que sera sera
  6. Oh? That may be just what I need, although, I will likely have to have my buddy mold the darn thing for me. How exactly does one go about doing that anyway, cutting and creating a bend in it to mount a still on it....like the style that Bonehead sells???. Que sera sera
  7. I have a TRV 27 for top mount. The d box I just got is too long the the Z bracket. Bonehead admits they made a mistake...they don't have a bracket that will fit the new box for this size camera. Que sera sera
  8. Howdy all, So, here's the scoop. Got new helmet and z bracket a few months ago. Have been waiting to put it together, waiting on other gear. So, I get the new Bonehead D box, with the hinges. Anyway, I go and try to fit it all together and the damn D box is too long for the mounting bracket. I called Bonehead and they said they are aware of the problem and don't have any longer brackets for my size D box. So, I am left with a lot of camera gear and a bracket that won't fit the helmet. Sending it back will be fine, but does anyone have any bright ideas on what to do about a mounting bracket? I need to mount my still in front. What about cutting down the bracket and mounting the d box directly to the helmet? Any advice?? Que sera sera
  9. Here's the fat. The Scycam SUCKS!! I bought one when they firsy came out to try it out. The APS format is good, but customers don't seem to get it. I had to sent the camera back for an exchange because it was not working properly. They sent me back a 35mm version. Still crappy!! Get yourself a cannon or nikon, something that is nice, stable, has a good name. I know they are pricy, but you will be so thankful that you did. I use the Cannon Rebel X. Hasn't failed me yet. If you really want to buy a skycam, I'll sell you mine . Skydance Has great customer Service. They will take care of problems that arise. I do find their prices to be high on other items, however. Good luck! Que sera sera
  10. Thanks for your reply. See your PM. Que sera sera
  11. Keep up the practice. Good advice on wearing your camera on the ground. Get adjusted to your sight. Eventually it will be like a state of unconsciousness, you will not even be that bothered with looking through your sight, it will come naturally - at least to me it did. Audibles are great. I went without one for 4 years. WHY? I'm a cheap chick Que sera sera
  12. Hey there, Does anyone have the system requirements for Adobe 6.0, or better yet Pinnacle DV200? Since the new version of Adobe hit the market, I am at a loss to find out any information on the older versions. I am trying to find a decent editing program that will be compatible with my hardware and Adobe 6.5 won't do it for me. Hopefully an older version may be more suitable. And no, I can't afford a new computer plus editing software. Anyone have suggestions or info? THANKS
  13. I currently have a Pinnacle DC 10 plus. A bit buggy. Have you heard anything on Pinnacle studio 8? I do need and want something simple, because I just don't have the time to get into depth when editing so many videos from the weekend. No problems with ulead? Good. Does it have clow motion effects? Que sera sera
  14. I was searching for a digi vid just a few months ago. I looked closely at both the 30 and the 50. What I found was that the 27 actually had everything i needed. Great quality, 3.5 LCD, and tons of neat features. i opted to go for quality, but at a bit less expense The 30 will give you slightly better quality, but is it really significant enough to pay that much more for? Not Me! Good luck! Que sera sera
  15. So you would have no qualms about buying a used reserve manufactured say ten years ago? I Think the material holds up pretty well, particulalry if stored properly. Que sera sera
  16. Thanks for your input. Do you like your Diablo? I had a 110 and thought the landings on it were crap!! Never did get that sucker going good. I really loved the responsiveness of the toggle input, but boy those landings. would up making an even trade with a Tri. The Crossfire is the best thing I've ever flown - hands down!! Que sera sera
  17. Video for tandems mostly. So, Maybe I will get it - - - or not If anyone has any input on the glide comparisson btwn crossfire and spectre that would be great. Que sera sera
  18. Actually< I love my Crossfire. I am putting together a second rig and was looking for something with soft opening for video, either an additional Crossfire or a Spectre. I have a container already, but I need a 120 or less, which is perfectly fine. Basically, this great deal on a 97 Spectre fell into my lap. That's why all the questions about the loading. I would prefer something slightly bigger, considering the feedback on the glide ratio etc, but what a deal!! Does anyone know if the glide or descent is more pronounced on a highly loaded 7 sell, or a perfomer like a Crossfire? If it is comparable in terms of that, then I may buy it. I know the Spectre is not a performer, but that is alright. I also want to be able to glide back from a bad spot and to land it with as little effort as possible. So, performance (swooping) is not a factor at all. Hit me with your feedback!!! Que sera sera
  19. So, I've been in the market for a Spectre. Came across a really good deal for a 97. I know the recommendations are 155 max exit weight. I meet that exactly! Does anyone load their spectre more than a 1.5? I don't want to over do it on a 7 cell. I have the experience, but I also want to keep safety first. I currently fly a 99 crossfire. Anyone out there????? Que sera sera
  20. HI ho, Anyone tried the Ulead video studio product? How does it compare with Pinnacle? Adobe is so complex and expensive. YIKES. Que sera sera
  21. I do like the low profile of it, from what i have seen on the web sight. Is it difficult to get helmet on and off without the sight poking you in the face? I have e mailed the company a couple of times, however, no response yet. Is there a particular sight that works best with it or will say a Brent's or a Newton work alright? From the picture, it looks like the sight is to be screwed right in there. Is this how the sight is attached? Que sera sera
  22. Has anyone tried the ring sight holder that 2k composites has on the market. It looks so much more compact than the schumaker articulating holder. How do the two compare? I have a new Optik and my still will be mounted on front, upside down on the Z bracket. Will the Schumaker articulating bracket be in the way? I just want something that will not look like it is "Frankenstein" in the works. Any suggestions? Que sera sera
  23. Ok, so I'm looking in the clasifieds for a used container and this cousins daves.com comes up with some nice stuff. Anyone know of this company? What reputation does he have? I don'y want to buy something from a crook. Que sera sera
  24. I have a Hi 8 that i download onto my computer into a Pinacle system Studio DC 10 PLus program. Works fairly well for analog and it has a lot of capabilities. Bought it for about 80 bucks on a web sight. Check it out. Think about going digital!!!!!!
