Not so far! I've been using mine for about six months and my cord gets plenty of use, including swapping out for power cords for cell and bluetooth, and its held up fine. _________________

I have a TomTom 1 3rd Edition, and love it. Same maps as the more expensive units, upgrades available, etc. but does not have the bells and whistles of the more expensive units (bluetooth for cell phone etc.) It is easy to use, easy to read, and hasn't steered me wrong yet. One thing to remember is that they may not always calculate the fastest route, but they will get you there! I got mine on eBay for $150 new in box. The only issue is the battery only lasts maybe two hours, so make sure you have your power cord in the car! Shawn _________________

I have ordered new springs throughout and a new firing pin. Re-assembly of the Woodsman is a bitch, but hopefully it will go faster the 2nd time! Shawn _________________

Thanks John! I have stripped this gun once already (holy crap, that spring is a bitch!!!) so I feel its time to get an expert into it and do it once and for all correctly. I have not had any personal experience with Colt and their web site is minimal in information at best! But I will give their customer service a call and see what they can offer for this model. I am concerned about parts availability, so that is my main reason for looking for a private gunsmith, I was hoping for someone who may specialize in these models and may have a private stash of parts. No, unfortunately, I have tried all sorts of different types, and the problem seems universal. You can take a misfired round, try it again and it will work fine the next time. Examining the casings, it is pretty apparent that the pin strike is very light, so I am pretty sure it is a problem with the force of the firing pin. Thanks! Shawn _________________

Hi All, I have a beautiful Colt Woodsman that I have been shooting for years. It is a true joy to shoot, and unbelievably accurate! Unfortunately, it is starting to misfire, perhaps one out of ten rounds fails. I believe that the firing pin and or spring needs to be replaced. I am looking for a recommendation for a good gunsmith that has experience in this type, as gunsmiths have become a very rare breed out here in California. This gun has gone from my grandfather to my father to me, so I am hesitant to just hand it over to just anyone. Parts are also going to be a factor. Any recommendations are appreciated! Thanks! Nice bike Acme! Be sure to ask the bike shop on how to properly break in disk brakes. If not done properly, they can get very noisy, especially when hot! _________________

There is a hill close to my house just off of highway 101 that I like to soar from time to time with my paraglider when the winds are right. One day I had been soaring for about 45 minutes when I saw two sheriffs cars pull up to the field at the bottom where I land. As I saw them watching me, (and having no other landing field options!) I came down and landed. They came up to me and told me that someone had called in a report of an aircraft crashing, and that the pilot had bailed out and was under a parachute close to the highway!!! They we very cordial about it, asked a bunch of questions about paragliding, and went on their way. _________________

I have an old bike trailer that was given away free by my neighbors when their kids outgrew it. It was designed to hold two kids side by side, so it has a ton of storage space. I use it for groceries, my labrador (she's 12) and just about anything else that won't fit in a backpack. Unfortunately it does not work with the frame on my Cannondale Prophet, but works like a champ on my old 1992 Stumpjumper. Unless you are riding a fire road or trail, suspension is just a waste of money. You might want to check Craigslist, Ebay, etc. for a used one, people give them away for a fraction of the price new once the kiddies are riding on their own. _________________

I like the part how talking while driving and under 18 is a secondary offense, and they cannot pull them over just for being on the phone. So if I read it right, if you are 16, driving safely while chatting with the phone next to your ear, you can wave merrily to the officer as you pull up even with them on the highway with no repercussions. But do the same thing over 18, you're busted! How does that make sense? _________________

So I have read through this thread and I still have not seen a clear answer a question. My question is, how long before the polygamists are knocking at the supreme courts door? If four people of consenting age wish to be married, (or six, or ten) why should they be discriminated against? Children and animals cannot give consent so that argument would be easy to defeat, but why should someone be discriminated against because their sexual preferences include multiple partners? Let me state, I think it’s great on this ruling. Let two people who love each other and want to commit to each other do it in a very real and legally binding sense (Python reference) no matter whether its man/woman man/man woman/woman. Makes no difference to me. If I understand this ruling correctly, it forbids discrimination based on sexual preferences. Just curious. Frankly, would not bother me in the least if they got their rights as well. Lawrocket stated it perfectly earlier, it makes no difference in my choice of personal relationship. _________________

On the bbq, how cool is that! Here's a favorite of mine, Thin crust marinara sauce 1st layer of mozzarella and parmesan 2nd layer of FRESH baby shrimp. Don't skimp on the shrimp! (shredded lobster tail may be used instead) cover with another layer of mozzarella and parmesan bake on a stone when cooked thru, broiler for 3 minutes to put a nice brown color to the high points on the toppings. _________________
