  2. Congrats! I know how you feel, back in the 80's when I was jumping I could flat pack f-111 in no time, and only radical, misunderstood artist skydivers did that pro packing thing... Well, now that I am back in it, I have been introduced to the wonders that are pro packing and zero porosity! My question is, whoever invented this fabric, did they actually like skydivers? I mean, my first few attempts to handle this stuff felt like I was trying to stuff a live wolverine into a sandwich bag!! Even once you got it in, it would try to escape like some evil scene from "The Blob". Every pack job left me looking like I had just run a marathon, with a few choice words for my vanquished foe. But yesterday I finally felt like I was actually getting the hang of it, and all my openings were on heading and comfortable. Who says you can't teach an old skydiver new tricks? Pack On!! 10. There may be no cure for European chocolate addiction, but there IS revenge... Our company has offices located in Neuchatel, Switzerland. Every time they come to our offices they bring chocolate. Lots of it. After getting us all hooked on it, they start making demands of us during the normal course of business. "Server not built on time? No chocolate on the next visit!" So, last year, when they came over on another visit, we suggested a little outing... The Jelly Belly Jelly Bean factory, up in Fairfield, CA. Revenge, like jelly beans, is a dish best served cold. (Well, OK, room temperature) So now we have a sweet (literally!) deal going on, each side keeps the other stocked, and nobody gets hurt! Shawn _________________
  11. Is'nt that awesome?? Shawn Stiver, FB2663. Now if USPA could only do the same thing! I getting back after 11 years out, and apparently the only way to look up license #'s is to manually go through their records by year. Yikes! Anybody got a spare copy of SQL they could give to USPA to set up a query-able database like this? Cya! Shawn _________________
  12. Thanks All! Was out again Monday, two jumps, flying on my back watching the rust blow off!! Picked up my rig, figuring out the chaos that is pro packing, jumpsuit will be ready tomorrow, and start a Sunday/Monday days off sched this week! USPA does not seem to have a name query-able database for licenses, (books gone in a move several years ago) looks like I get to start digging through some of my old buddies logbooks to find my numbers! 13. how far away is your DZ? I work til 1AM, asleep by 2, on the road at 10, jump by noon, on the road again at 2:30, back at work by 4PM. A little hectic, but beats no jumping at all! Good news is I start getting Sundays off next week! Yea! Shawn _________________

  16. Howzit! Well, after an 11 year hiatus, it feels good to be back! Spent all of my 20's and early 30's pretty much in freefall, until career and other forms of flight lured me away. I ended up at Lodi a couple weeks ago to attend an old buddy's of mine wedding, and was amazed at just how good it felt to be back! Kathy greeted me as if it had been just last week since I left, and it was incredible to see just how many of my old buds were still in the air. And the best part? Freefall. Blessed freefall again!!. I have been flying hang gliders and paragliders for the last decade to feed my altitude cravings, but nothing compares to out the door and going no lift after so many years! Anyway, nice to be here, wonder what kind of hoops USPA will make me jump through to get my old "D" number back! Cya!!! Shawn _________________
