    TF incident

Saying that. A Shrivel Flaps shear on container opening. Contributes to Pulling a jumpers body weight off to a Barrel Roll. Makes about as much sense as saying. A Shrivel Flaps pull is so great that it can pull a jumpers self made. Bad Body Position and Off-Axis Roll. back into a Good body Pull Position at container opening before Canopy extraction. .
  2. Hey ! It's not like his name is Jamaal Franklin or Willy Washington , That would be way to easy. On the facts you present. If that's true you think he would have mentioned that fact when I questioned him on his ethnic sounding name when we met . I did spend several years growing-up with family in the south so that's just the way my brain clicks on Names. SOoooooo maybe Racial Profiling by the way a birth name is a Fact of Life my Wingsuit Brutha. .
  3. Ya I'm grabbing a flying seat on a little private that another jumper is piloting. If we don't Burn-In to a mountain side in bad weather I think we will be there, fri. afternoon to Sun. afternoon.
  4. How about being the 1st Triax T-Stake, Smugglers Mule ? Do it like our partying Amigo's do when they bring a small load of Meth. over from South of the border. To avoid those Pesky Airport Searches by security. Before Bording your Flight. Carefully take the Triax T-Stake and place it inside a well lubricated Condom. Then slowly swallow it while being ever so careful not to break the Condom and Digest the T-Stake. Then when you are safely to your pre-arranged destination. Purchase a inexpensive box of Laxative from your local Pharmacy. Eat the Whole Box of laxative and Safely Pass the Triax T-Stake though your small and Large Intestines then Colon and out your Anis. Then Repeat process to return your local Airport and starting destination. .... .

I got a post card from, Coombesy awhile back. He is living there. Might try giving him a e-mail for BASE info
  8. "How much altitude is typically eaten on a go-and-throw slider-up jump before you have a fully pressurized canopy? " . That is extremely hard to say exact attitude used. There is so many packing configuration variations in Slider-Up jump. Static lining a slider-up would be the fastest to Line Stretch for sure. Even off a bridge the pressurization & opening height would vary doing a static if there was a head wind or a tail wind. ' If the person putting you (mikkizh) off the bridge static line, slider-up. was being safe. most likely it was a tail wind for the fact of the under-steel being to your back. If you had a head-wind you would probably notice being higher up on opening and faster inflation. ..
  9. If that was Eric Fradet ?? Not sure through info on thread. A few days of walking and sleeping in the wilderness. No food, No water And then top it off by NO JUMP !!! That would only Piss Him Off. ... It would not surprise me at all. Eric is a HARD jumper and there are few that talented and go as hard as that Wild Man. He will jump all day Training. Then Fun jump till dark. Then he will be angry because the Pilot want to have a Beer and Sleep. .

It baffles me how the hell have you lived this long ??? .. .

    velcroless toggles?

I have - Never - had a hang-up or a hard toggle pull. I have used the pin's on all my personal gear for years. It feels just like the normal Grab & Rip when you go for them. I don't think you can tell or feel the difference in, Pin or No Pin. It's Not like the Pin is holding down the Bottom of the Toggle hard and firm with no play. There is play in the Loop that holds the Pin. All it does is Not let the Big-Grabs come un-stowed from a Upward motion of un-pealing from the Velcro. .

    velcroless toggles?

..."The goal of the original poster was to keep the tail of the toggle from coming off the riser." - Ya that is important. So for at least 400 jumps or more now, both slider-up & down. I have been using on my personal set-ups a PIN. That's right, a fucking strait Pin. I have shown a few people this but the minute you open your mouth about a pin on a BASE Toggle. People Freak-Out and get all Zoo-Toggley & prehistoric, toggle superstitious and all. So I just have been jumping them and don't really talk about it much or try to push the idea on people. In the Pics. It is just basically a 1-1/4 inch standard skydive industry Pin. In and under the bottom of the Velcro Tab. I place a 1-inch square type-4 (red in color) with 2-bar-tack (in white highlight) to hold the Pin between the Velcro and the Type-8 Riser. The Big-Grab Toggle has a 600-Dacron loop that is bar-tacked under the Velcro to hold the Pin. Then the Velcro is just stitched over the top on the Toggle as usual. - It is all so simple and Strong & does not let the Toggle come loose at the bottom. The Main reason I did this though. Was mainly for the panic Riser Grab in Heading corrections in both Slider-up & down situations. Were you could accidentally snag by Hand or Clothing or whatever the bottom of the Toggle from the bottom-end and rip it out of the Stow. I got bright idea from FEAR. I witnessed a slider-up BASE jump were the pilot had line twists and in the struggle with Risers & Heading a Toggle was knocked off and fired the brake-line. This only made things worse by speeding up the Spinning Malfunction. Anyway the Toggle can only be Fired by the NORMAL (downward ripping) Motion, toggle-grab and un-stowing upon the Pilots command. (or the other way.) it will Fire ! If the pilot Mis-Rigs his Brake Stow and it BLOWS on opening.... . May the Force be with you. .
  13. I am also under the same impression. That if you take 2 identical Canopies. One Vented & one Not. Then you jump them off identical exit points under the exact same conditions. Both will have Exactly the same (Opening Height) as far as Line-Stretch & Bottom-Skin inflation. (aerodynamic deceleration) The Vented canopy will come to full pressurization faster. Leading to the gain of Faster Flight and the canopy reacting to Pilot Input faster. .
  14. True. Sorry bout that, you should not . .
  15. Only the witnesses or the deceased jumper themselves really know the Facts on the accident. The 3 or less second delay was a good guess on the culprit though. I really don't think he is being Bashed by zegeunerleben, jfk & kidwicked. Low air speed deployments with slider-up have been a Magnet for BASE jumpers eating walls and rock for years. It was his 23rd BASE jump. That low # it's hard to do things right & live. .

    Age and BASE

Gates is so Old. vultures constantly circle the Exit Point. Gates is so Old. His babysitter was Mother Mary. Gates is so Old. He sat next to Jesus in third grade. Gates is so Old. Fred, Barney and Johnny used to Gang-Bang Betty Gates is so Old. His BASE number is in Roman numerals. .
  17. . I also got to agree with Ken on Jeb. If you hang around Jeb at all. The one thing you will notice and like about him. The man is doing the most important thing. He is living life True to Himself. . (Now, back to Matt:) Ahhhhh Matt. . little do you know. Ken MUST complement me. He has no choice in the matter. You see it in the Rules of the Secret Pact made between the Honest, Hard Working & Simple Minded. ... . .
  18. As of this Sunday night @ 11:00 pm, MSN most popular People Search ! - George Clooney 2 - Chung Mong-koo 3 - Rosie O'Donnell 4 - Jamie LaMunyon # 5 - Jeb Corliss . ................. edit to add: no really no joke, just look . edit to add: BEAT by Rosie O'Donnell . man that's gotta hurt. ... .
  19. Damn I been thinking about this ESB jump all day at the job. I wish now that he had thought of some type of (Diversionary Tactic) choreographed out when he changed clothes and made the bathroom extraction & went for the fence. Some type of scuffle or argument of fake medical problem prearranged with accomplices to attract the Security and draw them away @ the moment of the exit attempt. Man SOooooo Close but not able to step off. It's eating @ me as well as others im sure. So you know it got to be killing him. .
  20. I for one am glad to see someone had the Drive and the BALLS to even attempt to make another BASE jump from that landmark building after 9-11. Fuck I wish I could have seen the escape crew that was waiting on the Ground to add in his escape Getaway. Bitch Bitch Bitch is all that is going to be read now on this skydive Semi-BASE forum now. Shame on you for complaining and him doing a BASE jump that if anyone of you had the chance would have tried also. I hope he ends up on the David Letterman show next week. ..... .
  21. What is appropriate pack job on a Vented BASE canopy ? . - The Key word in your sentence is - Appropriate. And I really don't know what is appropriate for you. You probably already have a good system down already. What everyone seems to be seeking on high-speed openings is. Positive but Smooth Staged inflation with Good Headings but what everyone seems to be scared of is Not getting them with Vented big 7-cell base canopies. What is Appropriate for Me on a normal clothed tracking jump is. (normal clothed being) just baggy pants and a wind breaker. If I am going past 10-sec. I always use a 32 pilot chute. In the jump I usually just Bust out of my Track. Square up & pitch. I always get smooth on-heading openings by using. Direct Slider control, plus direct control of Primary Stow in conjunction with the Taping of my Brake lines. I Never roll the Nose & I Never use anything but Large-Mesh Sliders. While jumping vented BASE canopies. .
  22. George is right. no need for sail slider. Do some BASE site search on packing. I am sure you will find Tons of reading. There is no need to modify panels. Just use the appropriate pack job on a Vented BASE canopy while using the large mesh Slider for high speed velocity. No need to even roll the canopy Nose For a nice smooth opening . .
  23. wow the Hollywood realism is just scary. A guy pounds down a couple six-packs with his buds. They decide to all go out a make a BASE jump with no experience. One the first jump he just goes was PHaaaaaaaat a delay. Has a 180 and eats some Rock and gets all busted up. I don't know. Sounds like a typical Hollywood glorified Stunt to me. It does sounds pretty weird & off the wall that a BASE jump & accident was just written randomly into the Script like that. It kind of funny maybe more soap opera like talent will be Killed-Off in television series from BASE accidents. When the ratings get low or there contracts are up for renewal. .
  24. Awwwww Matt you poor dumb bastard, You don't realize it at the time but ME, being that I'm your best mate. I was Really doing a HUGE Favor. I chased off that cute little Red-Head. With those Great Tits you had arranged for a Packing Weight. Rumors had it that she contracted a Raging S.T.D. from your Sister. ..... Anyway I think that I was not planning to be used as your Packing Weight. I just think I had to sit-down for a moment because of the HeadSpins I was getting from all the bad Junk we scored & abused BASE jumping the night before. DUDE ! Seems that the white powder we found. Was Really just cable corrosion. That fell off the Car Batteries we were using as Packing Weights. ..... .
  25. Wasn't there something from years back of Tracy in a pinch. Using a pair of Levis to D-Bag ? Off a Water Tower of something ? Tying the legs of the Levi's off to anchor. .
