  1. I don't want it to look like Chad and I are teaming up on you, but I agree with what he said. Thanks, Tom Manship sent me that avatar awhile ago. I was thinking about him so I dug it out of the archives and decided to use it.
  2. Hey Chris, Just out of curiosity, if you own the Ace but compare the Stealth to a Mojo, how many jumps do you have on the Mojo? Man I loved my Mojo... Katie. PS Your dad is the man
  3. I disagree with this. If a jumper has 38 jumps and is going to jump a cliff, it depends on whether or not that particular jumper is more comfortable going stowed or handheld. What kind of jumps lead up to the cliff? If it was a bunch of handheld jumps, he/she should probably go handheld, but if his/her last 30 jumps were rock-solid stowed jumps, go stowed. When I did my first cliff I had about 40-45 jumps and the people I was there with asked if I was going to go handheld. I decided to go stowed because I was more comfortable with it. (Jumping the frozen pizza). Yeah, Yuri dipped his shoulder. He had a 180 and he fought and fixed it. I have dipped my shoulder before too, once in awhile it happens. Maybe what we could take away from this instead of bickering is: Take an extra second to think about your exit before you jump, like you did when you were first learning. Anyway, I should probably start paying attention...I'm in class right now Katie.
  4. You can't take a 7 off a 486' bridge, wiz kid. AreUCrazy: That is pretty messed up, but I laughed so hard none the less, thanks.
  5. My family was very unaccepting of BASE in the beginning, you aren't alone. Points that I tried to explain to them were that I am very meticulus in assessing conditions, packing, etc and that we are not the cowboys that are portrayed in the media. I am constantly learning, seeking out more knowledge and that I understand and accept the risks involved and always try to minimize them. I love the people I have come to know in this community and that BASE jumping enriches my life in a way that I can't really explain. I didn't bring up BASE around my family very much, my dad had/has an especially hard time with it. As time goes on though, I find that once in awhile he will bring it up and ask a question, or ask to see a picture. I am to the point where I can show about 15min of video to them before it's too much. They just love my and don't want me to get hurt, your parents probably feel the same way. It has been a little over 2 years now and I think my parents have come to realize that this isn't a little phase, that I genuinely love BASE and that it has brought a lot to my life. They don't like it, but they have learned to accept it. I guess what I'm saying it that if you are having problems with your parents, don't give up. Give them time and they may or may not just come around on their own.

    Lock Pick Kits

Then come jump with us tomorrow off a low yet sweet bridge.
  7. Abbie, how nice of you to visit the Aiello's on my birthday...January 18th Edit to add: When I saw this thread, I have to admit I thought Abbie started it
  8. Thank you!!! You are awesome! Katie.
  9. It was not Marty T. from Asylum.
  10. In BASE we don't buy beer for good reasons, we buy beer for no reason at all !

    Thank You!

Haha, that's right. Chad said even if the weather is bad he was going to Twin to move furniture. Wish I could have been there, I miss you Cheri! If we can't get down before you have Jr, you can count on us visiting right after!!! Little Katie... Katie.
  12. Sorry to ruin your rep babe, but there are gardening gloves at your pad. I like climbing in them. I also have a pair of snowboarding pipe gloves (small, made for springtime and warm weather riding), they have pretty good grip on the palms and fingers but a lot of it has worn off. They are warmer than the gardening gloves but they're not super huge or too bulky to climb with. Edit: typo
  13. There is a jumper up here (inactive for awhile) who actually made this. His intention was to make something ideal for reefing on about a 4sec delay. As I recall, he said in practice it didn't actually do much. I can talk to him more about it if anyone is interested though.
  14. Right on, I would be happy if my board lasted a full two seasons if I'm riding hard. I put about 2.5 (I broke it during summer) seasons of about 60-80days/season before I broke it. I don't plan on riding as much this year, now that I have to work every weekend and I have school everyday, so it should last awhile. I agree that there are alot of smaller companies with good product, but I work at REI and I can get good deals on the brands we carry, hence big names only.
  15. This is all good input guys, thanks! This is very interesting to me, I don't want to buy a crappy board! Is there anything specific that you dislike about your Option? Which model are you riding?
  16. I'm looking for a new snowboard, my old and well-loved Burton Custom broke. I'm thinking of getting another Custom (the new Custom X is a bit pricey) or an Option either the Joni Makinen or Kendra Starr. If you have any input on sweet boards, I would be happy to hear it. I am an advanced rider and I like all-around boards. There isn't really any good powder in Washington, so I want something that works well in the park and also on whatever else I'm cruising down. Thanks for any info you can give.
  17. That hot chick has to work all weekend. We'll just have to make another trip I guess... You boys have fun! Who's in town from LA? Katie.
  18. Oh man, Faber. I've seen your 10min pack jobs and I hope you would never pack for anyone else!

    Naked 100!

C'mon guys, 10th jump in your underwear? Who's going to fall for that?
  20. You're not kidding, the max sentence for Illegal Air Delivery is actually six mo in jail and a $5000 fine. I wonder if they will impose that if you get busted a second time...I don't want to be the one to find out though.
  21. Last I heard it was gear confiscation, a $2000 fine and 12mo unsupervised federal probation. The $500 bail gets put towards your fine and they don't accept bail bonds. That was all current last september and they go with precedent, so I would think it would still be the same punishment. If you're going to jump it, hope that Link the climbing ranger isn't on the spire. And if he is, scare the crap out of him when you buzz him!

    Dianese Armor

Hey HydroGuy, I wear Dainese, not High Velocity, body armor. It is still comfortable to wear under my rig, the only awkward part is getting the rig on over the shoulder cups but you get the hang of it. When Chad and I got our rigs built, we did tell Marty that we would be using body armor sometimes. You could PM him (username Asylum) to ask if he adjusted the measurements for it.
  23. I didn't burn anything, mister. I just jumped down after you four to tell you that you had been seen. And besides, we can still jump it, we just have to do some ninja action to get on it.
  24. Is there something we need to talk about, Chad?
