  1. CONGRADULATIONS!!! That is so awesome, I am really happy for you two. My best to both of you! Katie.
  2. I'm completely in love with the best guy ever!! It sucks he's in Iraq, but ohhhh....when he gets back...
  3. Cory, It was nice to finally see you out at the dz again. Us Washington jumpers actually got some sweet weather! Good thing you called in to work...you did look pretty pale and sickly. Katie
  4. As you guys know, Chad "won an all expenses paid trip" to Iraq. PM me if you want his address to send him any BASE pics or if you just want to drop him a line. I know he will love hearing everyone
  5. I'll be in Twin Falls jumping my ass off with some awesome friends
  6. I think dreams are the safest place you can have a problem like that. I was having bad dreams about my exits on BASE jumps, there was no friction and I kept slipping and being totally unstable -- very scarey. On my next jump when I was at the exit point that all went away and I could visualize myself executing everything perfectly. I realized there was friction and I was fine. The benefits of the waking world are when you cock your pilot chute, it's cocked. I'm sure after your dreams you'll be sure to do it, and just get a pin check
  7. Go get it! You obviously want it...it's calling you... Besides, you can sleep when you're dead. Until then, coffee and redbull. Katie
  8. Thanks for the advice, it's a good idea. Unfortunately, I just got the phone a few months ago and don't get an upgrade yet, I also didn't have insurance. They said it was full retail for a new one, unless I had an old Verizon phone. They could just reactivate that for me. Katie.
  9. My phone doesn't work anymore after a freak accident. I was sleeping with my phone by my head on my trip to Idaho and it got knocked off in the middle of the night. It happened to land in the little cup of water by the bed on the floor and didn't tip over because it just leaned onto a pair of sweat pants and stayed upright. My phone sat in the water all night. I'm broke and can't afford to pay full retail for a new one, does anyone have an extra Verizon phone out there that they want to sell? Katie
  10. I will write to him all the time, I know he'll probably be busy and won't be able to write back as much. I want to be supportive, I know he's going to go through a lot over there, things that I will never experience and I just want to make it easier for him in any way I can, even if it is just writing letters or sending him little things. I wish you well on your next deployment, jmpnkramer. Katie.
  11. My boyfriend, who I am deeply in love with, just got sent to Iraq. He'll be back in six months and I know we'll be fine, it just sucks because I miss him so much. I'm really proud of him though, he's a corpsman and I know he'll take excellent care of his Marines. I was just wondering who else has loved ones overseas?

    Lock Picking

I recently ordered The Basic Set from this site: http://www.selfdefenseproducts.com/lockpick.htm. They took my money but at least they gave me the lock picks in return. They were delivered right on time and they give you a tracking number too.
  13. Everyone should be sure to watch the pre-game show...there is something extra cool this year, I'm sure you'll know what I'm talking about when you see it.
  14. I did that too, and still do sometimes...but I downloaded DeadAIM and it's formatted to it doesn't really happend because all the conversations are in one window and it has tabs above it to click on the right person. I don't know it that makes sense but if you download it you'll see what I mean. Search DeadAIM on google and the site will come up.

    Rediculous

I was in my physics lab and an army guy dressed in camies in the group next to mine had an airborne patch. I asked him if he was a skydiver and he started trying to impress me. He was talking about HALO jumps etc. then he starting talking about HAVLO (high altitude VERY low opening) jumps. He said he opens at like 1200ft and started telling me about how dangerous it is. I have a few very close friends in the military who are sport jumpers but they have never heard of HAVLO jumps and they are quite familiar with military jumping as well. Is this guy just full of it or has anyone actually heard of a HAVLO jump?
  16. I don't have any personal experience with McConkeys, but here is a link that has some good information about doing them. http://basejumping.net/forum/dcboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=7&topic_id=15206&mesg_id=15206&listing_type=search
  17. Definitely a sick picture. Wish I could have been there, next year... Congrats on your McConkey E!
  18. LMAO! That kid's face is priceless...
  19. I am going to purchase an audible altimeter very soon. I am either going to get a ProTrack or a Neptune. I have been reading the reviews posted and it seems like their were a lot of bugs with the Neptune and although the customer service appears very accomodating, I would rather not have to send in my new altimeter in the first place. I was wondering, is the latest Neptune bug-free? Should I just get a ProTrack and not have to worry about it? I am looking forward to reading your comments, thanks.

    just got my #

Congratulations on getting your BASE number! I still have a ways to go on mine. Keep charging and stay safe.
  21. mmmm I love dead guy ale, or a nice tall guinness (I named my dog guinness). On a really hot day though, a corona with a lime is refreshing.
  22. I said it was pretty stable, I'm not claiming to be a pro

    time to pull?

I was wondering the same thing, especially when jumping off a particularly tall object where a certain delay is required before pull time.
  24. I'm making a trip to TF this weekend with Dexterbase. Anyone who wants to come definitely should, it's going to be awesome. We'll be getting there Friday night (the 3rd), and be jumping all day on Saturday and Sunday (4th, 5th).
  25. I tried my first sit on my 31st jump. I held it for a few seconds. After a few jumps it was pretty stable and I could turn. It helped a LOT to have an experienced freeflyer watching me on the jumps so he could give me really helpful advise to try on the next one.
