  1. I'm going to come down to Montreal for one of the nights during July 1st weekend for a jump. I'll send u a pm with contact info of the locals. You'll definately want to jump with the Montreal crew since you'll need to use their equipment to gain access and they are careful about their jumps. the ground IS the limit
  2. I went to check out an 800' A last night on city outskirts with my crew. It was getting dark and as we approached, the maintenance building's lights went on. We were next to the fence of the A to observe it and about 3-5 mins later, a security van came around the building to where we were so we ran to hide in the bushes and waited out for the van to leave. It wasn't a regular security check up since the van came out aggressively. We definately set off motion detectors which may have flagged the onsite security officer. Since these detectors can detect any wildlife, I'm sure the officer(s) came after they saw us on the closed circuit camera(s). The road is fenced off and there is a facility near by, so it is my conclusion that there's 24 hr security on site. I was surprised since the A didn't look any more spectacular than other A's when it comes to security. On a side note, there was great landing areas and nice take off platforms at various heights. the ground IS the limit
  3. Once you pack your chute at a low compression strain rate, your chute will not want to open since there will be compression forces when the plys in your chute onfolds. Your 3do body protection won't help much at that speed. the ground IS the limit

  7. What's your experience with any Aiptek camcorders? They are small, light, cheap and operate on an SD card. I have not found a canadian retailer that carries them so I hope some of you have experience with them. The model I'm interested in is MPVR for 200$ US. It's resolution is 640x480 VGA@ 30 fps, Dims are 4.1" x 2.6" x 1.25". It has some other fun media features but I only care for the video and its light weight. I want to know if the camcorder records steadily when subjected to opening force and if the quality of the image is worth the camcorder, but not for professional use. the ground IS the limit
  8. That was my first Canadian and lowest jump! Thanks Jaap and Steve for introducing me to Vancouver. That was a wicked jump, wet dirty ass landing. Jaap, your a wuss for complaining about this rain. You know I'm the one with big balls that controls my C.G. You better get your ass back in town before Steve and I open up your hotty for you New Year's Resolution; get my local A pronto. the ground IS the limit
  9. I told my family that I was getting into BASE before doing the FJC. My sister understands the risks of the sport and why I'm doing it. My dad, on the other hand doesn't want to hear about it. It's too painful to hear about the possibility of losing his child. I've explained to him my approach to BASE and I've left it at that. The part they do understand is I've tried a variety of things to keep myself busy through school, work, flying, and skydiving so my mind stays off of BASE. It doesn't work. They understand my emotional involvement with BASE. They know that it is more important for me to live more fully at a higher risk instead of trying to keep myself alive for them. the ground IS the limit
