  3. Lovely how you can throw this into SC. But how do you figure the iraqi war lasting longer than vietnam??! Thats 11 years. Where as we invaded Iraq on March 19, 2003, so we're approaching 4 years. Jen Arianna Frances

  5. When I first started working out with my trainer we started doing boot camp style sessions. After my first session I couldn't make it up the stairs to my aparment. I called him and told him there was no way I could make our thursday session (just 2 days later), I was dead. He told me to come anyway and we would do a low key session - we did and I survived. If I were in your shoes I would still go to the gym but I wouldn't go all out, you end up doing more harm then good at that point. Just take it easier than you normally would - you'll find your body will tell you when you've had enough but just getting there is more mental than anything, you need to get into 'mentally' to keep at it. Good luck! Jen Arianna Frances
  6. Too bad they're not getting sued over ineffectiveness I know 3 people that got pregnant while on it (myself included), oh wait, make that 4 I remember someone here posting their wife got pregnant while on it. I know they're not 100% but they do advertise 98.9% (or something close to that), and 4 people in my little world is too much coincidence for me. Arianna Frances

  13. Thats my big trigger. An allergy test will tell for sure, they're pretty painless
  14. 1) Are there always "triggers"? Yes. They are typically allergy related. Mine are household allergies and cold. 2) How does the doctor figure out the triggers? Allergy tests and breathing tests. I cover my face in the cold and take an alergy medication, works wonders. 3) Can you have a bad asthma attack in your sleep? Yes. I stayed at a friends house in my teen years, used a pillow of hers thats must have had alot of dust/dust mites and had a horrific attack about 2 AM, woke me from my sleep. My husband had a highschool friend die in the middle of the night when she woke up in a bad attack. Arianna Frances
  15. My grandmother got asthma at age 46. She never had any trouble after 50 though... it was very odd. I have asthma and take a pulmicort inhaler every day. *knock on wood* haven't had any trouble in years (minus the night before I found out I was pregnant, I blame that on hormones) Seeing a doctor is a given though... my mothers grandfather thought he didn't need doctors for his asthma and died at the kitchen table while his daughter (my grandmother) ran down the street to the get the doctor. Jen Arianna Frances
  16. I actually agree there is an age when it becomes 'odd'. I saw an episode of the TV show "judging amy" once where this very issue was brought up. For those not familiar with the show its about a woman (amy) who is a family court judge in the state of CT. This particular episode focused around a woman being reprimanded for BF her 5 year old in public. The woman was very firm in her belief that a child would self wean when ready. In reality she was intimadating the child into continuing - constantly telling him and her husband how healthy it was. The judge drew the line when she asked the young boy if his friends made fun of him for it. When he said he didn't like feeling different than the other kids (even though he really liked his 'mama milk' and wouldn't drink anything else), the judge agreed it was time to stop. The judge ordered family counseling and told the woman to stop breastfeeding in public and to seriously consider stopping all together due to societal influence. In reality, I will only be giving my daughter breastmilk until she is 12 months developmentally (15 months old). This is not due to societal pressure, but rather that I find it is too time consuming (pumping 6 times a day). Many woman who actual feed at the breast find it easy to continue past that time, and I support that. I personally would not feel comfortable BF a child after 2 years of age due to the attitudes expressed by the general population (and in this thread), which is sad Jen Arianna Frances
