  1. Hippie's are not allowed to answer this!
  2. Did CSPA go to D for tandem? It still says C in the Pim Manual? Just wondering because I was going to get it this summer
  3. kinda like this one? http://steph.para.free.fr/JT_catapulte.wmv
  4. I had this triathlon 190 as my first canopy! I since have sold it but loved looking up at the big clown face after opening!
  5. Aiden Walters is also a regular at your dz, Eden North. He is a full time rigger and jumper and video guy and should be able to answer your questions!
  6. Looks like they would stow at the bottom of the container, with the bridle up by the reserve container. Also here is a link to the owners manual if you do not have one! http://www.parachutemanuals.com/Containers/Thomas%20Sports%20Equip/TearDrop.pdf
  7. Or if it was earlier, it would be a morner! Same as a nooner only sooner!
  8. I have the brass one of these. My son got 2 of them and gave me one. These are EXCELLENT TOOLS! Much stronger than the one I got from Para Gear.
  9. They are also here ya hippie!! http://www.relativeworkshop.com/pl_vector3.html
  10. I have never done one but have video'd a couple. He just told the pilot what he was going to do and when he went to put his feet up the pilot had cut to a low airspeed until he had his feet hooked. Then he gave it full power and I guess it just held him there until he wanted to release. He held it for a good 5-10 seconds.
  11. The actual tests or this http://uspa.org/publications/form.pdf/License_app_05-06.pdf
  12. I had a Sabre2 150 loaded at 1.33 and in the 200+ jumps I put on it only a handfull of openings would put the slider down or the end cells open. I have been told that PD designed the canopy to open like that for softer openings and they address this issue on the website with a small video. http://www.performancedesigns.com/canopyinfo.asp I found that by the second example of the video was the best way to deal with both.
  13. I bought a Mirage G3 with a Sabre2 150, Smart reserve also a 150, all less than a year old with 16 total jumps for 2900.00 and thought I got a killer deal
  14. Your probably not ready for a high performance eliptical at 30 jumps. What is your exit weight with gear? Is that reserve big enough?
  15. How many jumps total do you have? You will get more replies if you fill in a profile
  16. we have a guy with a typhoon 150 at the dz. I believe it is a zp top and f111 bottom skin canopy. He does some pretty nice surfs with it. I even seen him hook it up backwards and land it twice that way! One of those windy day activities.
  17. I saw a full camo G4 at the DZ a couple of weekends ago. A rigger from Saskatoon Sask owns it! It is very sweet!
  18. This is plywood covered with the paper sign and clear taped on.
  19. Rob, I jumped Skydive Fargo's 182 widebody last week on wed and with 2 tandems to 12000agl it took 12 min. 4 of us went on the next load and was also right at 12 min to 12000agl. It was also about 85 degrees F. Not sure but thought someone told me it was a 590 conversion? 3 blade prop.
  20. I had the night to spend in Fargo and since I had my rig with me I gave these fine people a call. Found the DZ and met some of the staff. This is a very nice facility, the club has done a superb job of obtaining all the stuff needed and outfiting a hanger/clubhouse. They have excellent student gear and 2 tandem rigs. I did 2 jumps from 12000, one solo and a 10+ point 2 way (Thanks Cliff!!) I am always a little nervous about jumping at a new place but after the 3 hours I spent there I was made to feel like family! My thanks to all and everyone I met at Skydive Fargo I for sure will be visiting again!! PS: Very Professional run operation!
  21. Is it just me or is this the same system? http://cgi.ebay.com/Wings-Pilot-168-Smart-160-Cypres-Skydive-skydiving_W0QQitemZ7191458394QQcategoryZ106980QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/classifieds/detail_page.cgi?ID=27748&d=1 Seems like both have same DOM's, I think the e-bay one is legit and the DZ one is a ?????????? Look at the price for the whole system! Edited by slotperfect to make the links clicky!
  22. Here is the Tri 190 I had last year. It was my first canopy!
  23. Thanks, It is actually IAD program which is pretty much the same as SL except the instructor deploys the pilot chute, not much difference at all. I also got to take a tandem ride with a new instructor who needs the 5 tandems with experienced jumpers over 100 jumps on Sunday. It was the instructor who dispatched me on my first freefall so we both had a excellent weekend! Thanks again, Kelly!
  24. So it begins as my 16yr old Son has been coming to the DZ with Me for about three years now. All the time wishing he could jump and Myself thinking that OK he would probably do one and be scared to death and not do it again. A week ago saturday we were sitting around the DZ and the Chief Instructor asks my son, Kurtis, if he would like to jump? He replies "YES" and so they sign him up for the First jump course on this last Friday night. The worried Dad takes him to the course and He does great so we camp out at the DZ on friday night and He sleep's like a rock and I am awake pretty much all night! The day has come, Saturday July 2, and He gets on the first load, yes I am now the one who is scared to death! He does fine and then does jump #2 and does fine! #3 he moves on to practice pull's and does one before the thunder storm moves in. So we tie the plane down and go for lunch and my Son now has 3 jumps and I am feeling so proud of him. Everyone at the DZ pretty much went to lunch and the storm passed and we went back to the dz. He then gears up and does jumps 4, 5, 6, as practice pulls and to his suprise the Instructors clear him for his first freefall! He decides on his own that he needs another practice pull and does #7 as a practice pull. Jump #8 was his first clear and pull and then did 2 more on #9 and 10. He did in one day what took me a month to get done and I didnt even get to my first freefall until jump #12. The previous record for students at our dz was 6 jumps in the first day and My Son did 10 and went from first jump to last 3 jumps pulling on his own! I was so proud of Him that on his first clear and pull I was on the ground looking up when he left and deployed that there were a few tears coming down my cheeks. It was one of the best days of My life as well as my Son's!
  25. We are a small Cessna Dz and do alot of 3000 ft hop and pops especially when there are no winds so the swoopers can work on there swoops. I wish now that we had taken a picture of the riser and toggle when we checked it out but our chief instructor said there was no way you were going to get that out under canopy. In looking back this may have been able to be landed with rear risers but having not done many of them I just didnt feel comfortable with it. I do know that I am going to be practicing my rear riser landing's more and being more carefull when I pack and when I go to grab my brakes!
