  1. There is a guy at our dz who jumps a Typhoon 150, and at times when new jumpers ask him he replies, "It's a ASS SPANKER 150"!
  2. John, I used to work at these facilitys at Minot AFB from 1977-1981. I was on the Security crews. These officers are 90+ft below ground and no one is getting down or in there without them giving the ok. They control the elevator. At the time I was there they had 2 officers that switched duty every 24hrs. There were times on thier shift when both were required to be awake but most of the time they split the shift and one would sleep. Oh and another thing the media does not report, The launch process is a very complicated thing, requires more than just the 2 or 3 at the facility, cant get into detail but one launch facility controls 10 icbms. There are no people out where the actual missles are spread thoughout the countryside. In the reality of the situation, you could just let 2 or 3 terrorists in and down to the control center, hand them the keys and the codes and there is no way in hell that they couid do anything with them!
  3. So thats how ya stall it! He He He
  4. Mike saved my ass once! highly recomended!
  5. I was at lost prairie boogie in 05 and a guy had a cutaway that floated into the foothills of the mountains to the south. Sabre 170, we looked for a couple of days by foot and Fred took the 182 up to look for it but with no luck. This was end of July and was told that TY spotted it in sept or oct and it was found. Far as I know he is still jumping it.
  6. Thats very, very nice! Thanks for your service and your safe return! PM me and I wiould like to be the first to paypal you a jump ticket on me! Once again thanks for the service!
  7. Did kinda the same with this little guy! I released it while under canopy after a hop and flew along with it!
  8. Tiff, are you packing your own canopy?
  9. That sounds like a very good idea! Congrat's on the saves!
  10. Amen Brother! Thats the right idea! Cant stand the thought of my gear being stolen.
  11. First off I am not a tandem master but hope to be soon. I have 12 tandems with our instructors and the last one 2 weeks ago was on a new hop we just got. Matt the (TI) is about 190ish and i am 218 and we just brought it straight in with nary a breeze to a no step landing. The hop 330 performs excellent from opening to landing.
  12. I think your missing the point. HE waited 5 months for a line set. A apology from the CEO should be the best customer service ever?? I too know of a friend that has had issues with her pilot 150 from the time she got it, and I will also wait and see if she post. I myself however, had a Triathlon 190 that I had to have repaired, 2 small holes and 1 large tear and my rigger sent it to them, took about 2 weeks to repair. They did a excellent job on the repairs and called me a couple of times during the process to tell me of the progress. I was without my canopy for 3 weeks which is pretty dam good considering I am in Montana.
  13. I bought a Crossfire One 159 that had been stored in a closet for 3 years. It had to be peeled apart also. It is just fine and the most it has been sitting packed up has been about 3 mths and when I pulled it out it showed no signs of how it did when I got it.
  14. Here is a cool one of my Son, Kurtis exiting off the step of a 182 backwards.
  15. I weigh about the same and had over 200 jumps on a Sabre 2 150. I also put about 50 on a Stilletto 150. Jumped a Samurai 150 on jump #403. No one with 26 jumps should even consider jumping it! Just my opinion though but GOOD STOP!!
  16. Is this rig new from a US dealer? If so just call them and tell them what problem you have. They should have a record of who packed it and have them fax you the info. Then have them drop a new card in the mail. Another thing that could have happened is there is another card on your rig somewhere that you havent found yet? Maybe the rigger used one of thier own cards and placed it on your rig? Post what type of rig it is and the riggers on here may be able to tell you where it could have been placed on your rig. It could just be in the wrong spot
  17. Here is what helped me, A: Find a small cessna dz B: Buy Hop and Pops for 10 bucks 100$=10 jumps or if you perfer 10 landings
  18. I dont know how familiar with Mirage rigs everyone is but they have a small spandex type pouch to hold the excess of the rsl line. This line is folded back together for about a 1" and stows in the pocket just above the rsl shackle. I was going up for a H+P last fall and I always check my handles and look at the three rings. To my suprise I noticed that the excess rsl line had come out of that little pouch and the rsl shackle was stuck in the three ring I just undid the rsl and attached to the hard housing for that jump but this could have prevented a cutaway if I would have had a emergency! The last thing I do is make sure this excess in stowed in the pouch when I pack so somewhere from gearing up and on the plane it became disloged.
  19. You forgot to mention what kind of goggles you are looking for?
  20. Chris, thats a great site! Alot of good info on there!
  21. I dont feel I have to. No one is forcing me to. I choose to because I live in remote part of Montana where when I was growing up every rancher had a plane to go and check the cow's and fly in to get the groceries. Many of the pilots had no licence. Most have gone by the wayside because of the increase in aircraft cost. I like to make a jump once in a while and our club DZ is 2 hours away from here and only operates on weekends from April to Oct. So I catch a ride up with a local rancher that has a 175 once in a while
  22. Stratostar, that is the best post rsponse ever! If it really concern's you (judy) then just dont jump there. I myself will get in anything that will get me in the air, but hey thats me
  23. It is quite possible that you have damaged it. Take it to the DZ and jump it with another working alti and compare them. If you dont feel comfortable doing this I am sure someone there has done this before and will do it for you. It is probably fine but would check it out anyway.
  24. That's great advice in my opinion too! I put about 2-300 jumps on a Sabre2 150 and then demo'd a stiletto 150 and found the one that I demo'd to be much more ground hungry than my Sabre2. The only thing I really noticed was that the Stiletto turned way faster in the air. In my opinion the Sabre2 opens softer and performs with front risers just as well or better than the Stiletto! Hey but thats just my experience with both! Fly them and decide for yourself, you may like the Stiletto better!
