  1. "Is there anything beer can't do" Hank Hill A Winter Poem: Its fucking cold The End 'People who want to share their religious views with you almost never want you to share yours with them' B Moore 'Turbulence is a bitch'
  2. Like he said, you are going to have to drive. I live in great falls and the closest one I have gone to, Silvertip Skydivers, is in Hamilton, about 30 miles south of Missoula. Then there is lost prairie in Marion. I am not aware of one in Helena, but I have only been here a couple months. B Moore 'Turbulence is a bitch'
  3. I will be there. Bring your own beer from home (not utah) if you want real beer and not the 3.2 stuff. Lesson learned from last year. B Moore 'Turbulence is a bitch'
  4. Thanks for the heads up. I was on the launch load today, it was amazing. I didn't even realize there was a launch until I read this post. Good thing I did or we might have missed out on this jump. Amazing visuals. B Moore 'Turbulence is a bitch'
  5. Here is mine. It was a result of turbulence collapsing 1/2 of my canopy, but all the TM's under canopy thought I was trying to pull off the world's lowest hook turn. So i figure it qualifies. B Moore 'Turbulence is a bitch'

  7. Yea i know its in houston. I am graduating from the air force academy at the end of the month and i have 60 days of leave afterwards. Houston is my home town so i will be down there for most of it. Thanks for checking though B Moore 'Turbulence is a bitch'
  8. Wow... thanks for all the great info. After all this, I think I am just going to go to Skyfest. I am amazed at how much Skyfest is going to have and I dont see the benefit of spending 400 bucks just to get to the WFFC. Considering I am not a very experienced jumper, dont know a lot of people to meet up with at WFFC, and that Skyfest will be just an hour from my house, it sounds like Skyfest has everything I want and more. I still hope to get out to WFFC at some point, but it is not looking like it will be this year. Thanks for the great info and see yal out there at Skyfest B Moore 'Turbulence is a bitch'
  9. Hey all, I was looking into going to WFFC this year since they moved it up and I will actually be able to attend. I will be Houston over the summer on leave and saw the ads for Skyfest. The reason I really wanted to go to WFFC was to do all of the unique jumps (helo, bi plane, hot air balloon, mullins, maybe even jet) and jump with people from all over. Skyfest is going to have all of these aircraft except for the jet. So I guess the real question is... is WFFC still worth it for the atmosphere and sheer size? Has anyone been to both and can compare the two? Thanks a lot. Cant wait for this summer!! B Moore 'Turbulence is a bitch'

  13. Titatium is a little over a year old. Its all good now. Havent decided if I am going to get it taken out or not. Got to finish gymnastics season first. B Moore 'Turbulence is a bitch'
  14. Here is my 'new to me' '05 Yamaha FZ-6. Just got her a few days ago. I love the underseat exhaaust. Bad pics but you get the idea. B Moore 'Turbulence is a bitch'

  16. In line with what zenister said, as they allowed me to put more of my weight on my leg, i tried to walk as normal as i could with the crutches. Doing this and slowly taking the weight off the crutches and onto the leg i was walking right away without a limp. It is important what that you make sure the crutches are tall enough that they dont make you bend over when you are using them. That is what worked for me. I broke mine last halloween and was walking by the last half of december without a limp. Hope that helps and good luck. B Moore 'Turbulence is a bitch'
  17. Took me 6 months, probably would have been 4 if the screws in my knee didn't kill when i bent my leg. For the first 1.5 months while i was still on crutches, i walked in a pool and swam. Along with doing quad flexes constantly and working on range of motion. After getting off crutches i worked up to doing lots of sprints and jumping off taller and taller objects. After a month of building up, I couldn't go any further because of the pain in my knee. Waited for the end of gymnastics season (i was able to compete in gymnastics though my dismonts were very simple) and got them taken out. Then continued with squats and sprints. Made my first jump back without any problems. Good luck. B Moore 'Turbulence is a bitch'
  18. YEA 'STROS!! I hope clemens gets this series too, but I want it more for Biggio and Bagwell. They have been badasses for Houston for 15+ years. They deserve it more then anyone! B Moore 'Turbulence is a bitch'
  19. As most people have said already, you can hurt yourself on any jump even when you do everything right. In that regard I feel that it is important to be prepared for a hard landing at anytime as to minimize the 'damage'. When I had my accident, I am glad that when I realized I was going to hit hard the first thing I thought was 'plf'. And that was my only hard landing (ie not stand up) in my past 70 jumps). Ever since then it has been a constant thought in my mind when coming in on final. Disclaimer: low jump number guy B Moore 'Turbulence is a bitch'
  20. I just got a suit from them. The quality and build of the suit looks real good. The only thing I would complain about is delivery time. When they first sent me the suit it was 2 weeks after they said it would be ready. I had to send it back because it didn't fit (could have been my fault as I did the measuring myself). It took them 2 months to get it back to me. They resized it without charge and now it fits. Delivery time wasn't a factor for me because I was recovering from an injury. I really like the suit though and it looks like it will last for quite a while. B Moore 'Turbulence is a bitch'

  22. I will be TDY at Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque from June 6th til the 24th. Anyone stationed there jump regularly? Is Skydive New Mexico the closest/best place to jump? Thanks in advance. B Moore 'Turbulence is a bitch'
  23. Amen, I just got back in the air this past weekend from a broken femur due to turbulence. It is scary stuff. It has made me much more vigilant to the weather before getting in the plane and while under canopy. Fly safe. B Moore 'Turbulence is a bitch'
  24. The doc said I could do anything to my tolerance. I can run (can't sprint without a limp) but its not painless. I'll practice some PLFs before going up again for sure and wont be afraid to use it. I need to get some dirt on my new jumpsuit anyways. B Moore 'Turbulence is a bitch'
  25. Its been 6 months since i broke my femur, and 12 days since I had the screws taken out of my knee from the femur rod. For those of you that have been hurt, what made you think you were physically ready to return? My knee is still not nearly as strong as it was before, but have found i can land jumps from around 6 feet solid (gymnast, easy access to that kind of stuff). I still favor the 'damaged' leg, any tips on stopping that? Thanks and I am hoping I am ready to go this weekend. B Moore 'Turbulence is a bitch'
