If they did that, then people would want three reserves...and your back would just break. I was in your shoes not five months ago. I made my first jump on July 19th, not sure if I would like it or not...I've since made four more jumps, and am playing poker like a madman so I can get more money to jump. Being nervous is completely normal. I asked hundreds of questions before I jumped out of that plane, and I'm glad I did, it put me at ease. I was the exact same way. My first jump I was completely calm...I would be surprised if my heart rate was over 100. My Mom was watching the video later that night, shaking all over with nerves just from watching, she looked at me and was like "how can you be so calm?", I told her to wait for the second jump to come up...then you could tell I was nervous. -Kramer The FAKE KRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMER!!!!!!!!!

I'm curious, on what jump did you really notice that you weren't nearly as nervous as you once had been before, or did your nerves just sorta tapper off over the course of time? I've only made five jumps, and I (as does most any student), get pretty nervous before each jump, and I wanna know when that's gonna go away.

What is the going rate on AFF, from AFF 1, all the way to A license check dive? Provided you don't fail any jumps (or at least not too many), and your DZ's prices are pretty much comparable to the national average? From what I understand, it's certainly not impossible for you to skydive. I may be wrong here, but I'm pretty sure there are a decent number of 300+'ers out there jumping. Just call your nearest DZ and ask them if they'll let you. Say someone jumps out of a plane at 10,000 and neither of their chutes open...or hell, they're not even wearing a rig, is there even the slightest chance that someone could live if they hit the ground? Has anyone ever heard of someone surviving after impacting at a very high rate of speed? I had one of those "chute didn't open" dreams last night, and when I woke up, I started to wonder if I could live when I hit the ground.... Would you like to be thrown out of a plane while you're asleep? Say someone put your rig on for you, put you in a plane, and flew up to 13,500 without waking you up at all (farfetched...I know). They proceed to throw you out of the plane, you will wake up once you reach terminal velocity, but you will have no idea how you got up there. Would you like that?
