At my old home DZ with about 20 jumps at the time... Jumped rented gear for about 6 jumps. Began having delays with my P/C. On the last jump I tossed the P/C and waited for opening. After a delay of about 4 seconds the main deployed. I remember thinking very slowly, "Gee, that doesn't feel right. hmmmmm". As I turned my head to look back for the second time, the canopy came out. At the ground, the instructor asked me if I was cocking the P/C. I said, "What does "cocking" mean?" Whooooooooah!!!! It has been hard for me to live that down. Lesson learned. Now that DZ will always remember me as "Collapsible Dave". hehe
