  1. Wendy....Most all lightnings were not designed/meant to be taken to terminal...but...there are a few out there that were. I have one, but, it was actually ordered and designed to be taken to terminal. So, with that in mind, it may be one of those that were. A check with PD would be in order if it is being advertised as such (but the odds are that it is most likely not one that was). Just sayin. So, you bring your beer? Its 5 o'clock somewhere POPS #9344

  3. Scott Miller .....uses video to debrief his canopy course...Brian Germain may also...maybe just PM them??? So, you bring your beer? Its 5 o'clock somewhere POPS #9344
  4. It doesn't help that it's late, and the wrong size..but you can order from a more reputable maker and in the mean time...try and sell the suit for what you have into it, to someone it may fit. just sayin. So, you bring your beer? Its 5 o'clock somewhere POPS #9344
  5. Your boat looks very similar to a boat that I worked on years ago out of Grays Harbor fishing for salmon... back in the days when it was profitable. It was named "Water Witch"....nice pics! So, you bring your beer? Its 5 o'clock somewhere POPS #9344

  8. So I guess after some people have said that they weren't offered a reduced price/savings based on the fact that they were either A: Skydivers B: Active/Prior Service etc...and some said that the price was the same as was listed on the web site itself. My questions is this, what model/lens combinations may be offered with a savings? Or what models are not offered with a savings may be a shorter list? So, you bring your beer? 9. Well your doing better then I. I have attempted 4 or 5 times to get the damm firmware update onto the sd card without success. So tomorrow I'm off to use the wife's laptop and see if that works. If not, over to the house desktop. So...wish me luck! So, you bring your beer? Its 5 o'clock somewhere POPS #9344
  10. Thanks for all the advice I'm hearing on here. Not just a note for Ian. I'm learning every day. It seems more common than not to send the rig to a DZ/Rigger, but ask first for name and check for trustworthiness. But, as I'm also learning...the guy also bailed on the deal as soon as asked for anything of a security..without even a haggle on the price asked. Maybe I can steer him back to the deal. Thanks to everyone. So, you bring your beer? Its 5 o'clock somewhere POPS #9344
  11. send a rig, worth thousands of dollars, to a hopeful buyer for the sole purpose of inspection by their DZO/Rigger, without having any form of security. I have. The guy actually wanted me to send him/DZO/rigger a rig worth $4500 to him without one cent of security. Go figure. So, you bring your beer? Its 5 o'clock somewhere POPS #9344
  12. Not necessarily directed at your question of 1pps, I'm looking into purchasing a HD Pro. I would love to use it on my MC rides as well as on my helmet. Is there enough mounting hardware in the Motorsports kit to put this on my helmet as well as on my Harley. Looking forward to getting this soon. Thanks guys. Mark So, you bring your beer? 13. Exactly what everyone else said, even to the nth point of have fun. I was the least experienced in my class of 4 people, I was just filling in so the DZ could get a course to begin with. After all was said and done, there were only two of us that passed the course. Two others unfortunately thought they had it in the bag so to speak and didn't finish the course. I went into the course feeling I had no business being there, enjoyed the instruction, learned a whole hell of a lot that I thought I allready knew, and walked away with my Coach ticket. The only thing that the instructor did that caught me off guard, has already been mentioned. He flew right past me, busting it all in a back flying track, went way below "our" hard deck. He was watching me, not busting through and pulled at altitude. I still chat with my instructor to this day (thanks Mike!) Enjoy. Relax, Breath! So, you bring your beer? 14. political rant removed So your cost of a jump ticket, yeah its probably going to be bumped a little, a dollar, maybe 2 if your lucky, and in some places there just gonna have to bump it 3 maybe by the end of the season. So, you bring your beer? Its 5 o'clock somewhere POPS #9344
  15. Krisanne, I couldn't agree with you more. That line of thinking gets posted over and over more often then we think, and yes, on here. One of the reasons isn't just that we would love to have the noob in bigger gear, which is safer, more forgiving etc, is because experienced jumpers want to sell their used gear so "THEY" can buy new gear!!!! Thats not a new concept by any means. I, as well as others hear this all the time (funny isn't that a insurance line), no you don't need new gear...there is so much used gear around thats what you should be buying. I say, if the new jumper has the coin, buy NEW!!! The gear dealers will love ya, you will eventually downsize or quit all together anyways. And, this isn't directed at you or anyone else specifically, but why the hell is everyone beating to death the person wanting a B or a C license??? I know a big handful of people who have a D, that I will pass on a load just because they scare the living shit out of me. I say each level of licenses needs to be more proficient then their last level. Makes sense to me. Each level has to be able to demonstrate an "advance" level of skills. Period. Do we make this retroactive so all people that are currently licensed at a C or a D have to go and have a Proficiency Card filled out before they can renew their USPA membership? I think that is gonna go over like farting in the plane. And therefore I think we need to carefully watch and monitor ourselves before we attempt to start raising the bar for those who have less jumps or lower license levels. So, you bring your beer? 16. Although some form of Canopy Control Course is needed, with implementation comes cost. Again, as a lot of members have raised issue to is this, who's going to pay for it? DZ's? Probably Not. USPA? Definitely not. Students, most assuredly. USPA membership? Absolutely could be. There comes a time though when a Canopy Control Course is needed. A beginner course for A license and an Advanced course for anyone else before awarding a D level. Such as water training is required for advancement and night jumps have to be done for awarding a D. And as far as making it mandatory for Coach/Instructor levels. Why double the effort? Just make it mandatory for the level of license that the individual is wanting to attain. Or, are we just making this another issue because of the current trend for canopy related deaths because of a few individuals making the same mistakes that others have made over and over and over. We are soon to be so overly regulated that the issue of who has what is all that we talk about instead of skydiving! So, you bring your beer? Its 5 o'clock somewhere POPS #9344

  20. Although I love seeing titties pic's anytime..I am now happy that I now know that Canadians and North Americans are separate peoples unto themselves. I am mostly American Indian...and so I would say that I have been excluded yet again from white Anglo Saxon majority, tyvm. And BTW, Canadians are also North Americans. Geography at it's finest. 21. And WOW....$29 cheaper. They must have found the stash.....LOL. So, you bring your beer? Its 5 o'clock somewhere POPS #9344
  22. Well, you must not really be looking that hard. Or, your really not that interested in buying. I've offered you a rig, that you may or may not be interested in, and Nada, nothing. OK, I get it, you may not read your own threads, but I also took the time to write you a personal note...and you've ignored it as well. I would say your having issues with your computer or internet, but you've logged on. So, I guess the real dilemma is this, why are you asking for help, and then don't say thanks,,,or no thanks? Go figure. So, you bring your beer? Its 5 o'clock somewhere POPS #9344
  23. If your really really really looking for a great used rig....and have some cash..(b/c there are some used rigs that are basically new and the owner's don't have to sell them, they would just like to see them used) I have a rig that I'm willing to sell... Wings W27 made for me 6'1" 225 lbs at the time Main is a Safire 2 229 SF Reserve is slightly bigger...250 ish SF i have to look. Jumped maybe 125 times. All the bells and whistles at the time...custom colors Black/Red on the container and main. No AAD! NO reserve deployments! If interested...we can talk. Cheaper then new...but not giving it away cause I don't have to. Later. So, you bring your beer? Its 5 o'clock somewhere POPS #9344
