  3. last week Alex lost his longtime battle against cancer. 13.000 jumps and over 30 years in the sport made him an outstandig person in austrian skydiving. internationally he was know as a well respected team and sectorcaptain of the world-team, where he took part in all the records. he was mentor, friend and inspiration for many. soar high In Memoriam Alex Huber Im Fallschirmsport gibt es wohl kaum einen, der auf so vielfältige Art und Weise auf das Leben einer ganzen Generation von Springern Einfluss hatte, wie Alex Huber. 7. one more note: as you do not want to loose your altimeter when passing through the loop make sure you (and everybody else on the dive) wears) them way over the wrist :-) The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666
  8. there's nothing wrong with a vortex container per se. comfy rig at a very good rate. only problem i have heard of: people tend to overstuff the vortex - read: maximum sized main & reserve in minimum sized rigs. plus riggers have to know their stuff to pack it neat - which equals to a very thight packjob resulting in higher pullforces on the reserve. so best check with yur local rigger on that specific gear. 10. and there are still knowledgable people out there, who do not like the idea of a MARD-system of any build (see the threads floating around here), no matter what bill booth says and no matter how many people buy the stuff The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666

  17. as I had the opportunity to pack an "open" bag with brand new velcro with a fairly new canopy this weekend I'll have to say that I actually like packing these kind of pods. once you get the trick its simple and quick
  18. so that means I'll still have to wait. but thanks for the answers so far
  19. so has anyone had their hands on one of these except for skydive expo yet? any real life experience jumping? plz could we leave the brandwar shit out of this one?!? thx! The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666
  20. forget braces, taping is the way to go! only problem would be to get a physio who knows his shit and uses K-Tapes (elastic!) or something similar, that gives you support but doesn't hinder your movement. do NOT use non-flexible tapes. plus: get specific exercise from/with a physio NO weights and stuff on your own, you'll ruin more than you will know The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666
  21. one thing I do not get at all: strongs sidespin-recoveryvideo has been around for a really long time now, so TI's and foremost I/E's should be familiar with the technique of getting out of a sidespin. if not it should be at least reviewed on safety day and - if you have such a thing on your DZ while doing refresher-training.... 22. I think the logic of the bag with velcro is that it enables a "clean" packjob with the corners evenly stuffed (vs a "football-packjob") plus it boils down to what you are used to: if you never had the chance (or bad opportunity ) to pack a bag with the velcro still open, you will have problems closing it properly, simply because you don't know how to handle the stuff. reminds me of the pain of learning how to pack in the first place The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666
  23. also check the line attachement on the canopy from time to time. mind that there are stiches/bartacks/fingertraps used. know what they should look like to know what you are looking at, when somethings is starting to wear The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666
