  1. Took a "little lady" on a tandem jump. Took quite a while to fit the harness on her because every time I'd tug on leg straps or main lift webs she's lose her balance and fall over. Climb to altitude was pretty comfortable what with the extra room and shit. Jump went OK but after landing it was like standing there wearing a large belly wart since her feet didn't touch the ground. The older I get the less I care who I piss off.
  2. A magnetic church key holding up my next dental appointment card. Wow, the Chicken Ranch. Went there three times while stationed in Austin in 1967 but jeez Russ, I never got busted there. "They gotta lotta nice girls". The older I get the less I care who I piss off.
  3. I try not to bother them and they didn't bother me until one bit me back in June. I thought my finger was going to rot off it got so putrid looking. A week after the bite, got some antibiotics and some ointment at a doc in the box but it took another three weeks for it to clear up. Still, they really don't bother me, much. 4. Third day I had my brand new Suzuki GS750 was riding it to the office.........in office attire which included leather sole shoes. First traffic light I stopped at, down went my left foot which immediately slipped out from under me and then down went the bike in front of many, many cars in rush hour traffic. 5. I had a problem similar to yours so I went to Walmart and bought a rectangular bicycle seat, replaced the factory torture device and now no more "discomfort". Has added many more miles to my rides. The older I get the less I care who I piss off.
  6. Sorry for your loss, BTDT. Approx. how old was she? The older I get the less I care who I piss off.
  7. At the Nationals one year, I jumped a demo canopy. The color never came up in the discussion with the mfgr. Upon deployment, I looked up: 100% hot pink. IIRC, that was an anti theft device. The older I get the less I care who I piss off.
  8. That story sounds like all those made up horse shit stories in Penthouse Forum. The older I get the less I care who I piss off.
  9. +1 on that. I did a tandem jump in 1994 with an old rancher into his ranch in North Texas for a rather large cattle auction he was having. He had been a bomber pilot in WWII and had one previous jump to his credit, out of a flaming B-17 over Germany after which he spent 17 months in a POW camp. Man, talk about a tough act to follow. Oh yeah, that auction was when I learned that bull sperm can sell for more than beef on the hoof. The older I get the less I care who I piss off.
  10. About three weeks ago we stopped at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland while passing through on a road trip. All the LP items you mentioned and lots more, including the "rail" or "log" or whatever that thing with the removable "wings" was called, were on display on the entire seventh floor. Awesome display of historic items that changed the music world forever. Well worth seeing. The older I get the less I care who I piss off.
  11. We have so many tomatoes in our garden that we're going to start canning them to keep them from going to waste. It's been a bountiful year in the garden.
  12. Kind'a what I got to thinking after the question was asked. The thought of not being able to downshift immediately when needed is pretty frightening. Honda had an a 550cc back in the eithties called a Hawk (?) that had an auto trans. Guess that's why, other than that whimpy 500cc thing and it being very fugly, it never quite caught on with the MC public. The older I get the less I care who I piss off.
  13. Shifting must be just beyond some people. At both their requests, have tried repeatedly to teach my neice and nephew, both Master degreed, successful individuals, how to drive the five speed Geo Tracker that we use as an ATV here on the farm. They both drive and have always driven automatics and still, after giving them lessons every time they visit, neither has a clue as to how to drive the five speed. Maybe that's why they don't visit as often anymore. The older I get the less I care who I piss off.
  14. I pretty much lost interest in everything but the skydiving lifestyle for many years, however, when it started getting stale I rediscovered many of the things I'd totally abandoned due to the call of the sky (guitars, motorcycles, running, skiing, travelling just for the sake of travel). Whatever you've lost to skydiving will still be there when the new wears off skydiving, excepting maybe your spouse, house, car, savings, mind, etc. The older I get the less I care who I piss off.
  15. Man, those UK motorcycle regs will give you tired head and ruin your interest in reading. Kind'a like trying to understand FARs, or the US income tax code or even (SC here it comes) the Bible. The older I get the less I care who I piss off.
  16. No shifting leads to serious accidents. My old Magna has six gears and that's one too many, lets compromise here. The only thing I ever rode that didn't require shifting was a little rental scooter in Key West that would go about thirty MPH. I don't think that would really qualify in understanding what you to refer to as causing serious accidents. Seriously (NPI), just curious as to how much difference it makes. Thanks The older I get the less I care who I piss off.
  17. You might want to consider this: ://www.motorcycledaily.com/14december08_yamaha2009tmax_p1.htm 499CC, sporty look and no shifting. The older I get the less I care who I piss off.
  18. I'm sure that I'd screw around so long trying to make a decision as to who to save that whatever was endangering their lives would have killed them both anyway. Problem solved. The older I get the less I care who I piss off.
  19. "Screwshit", as in "That fucking screwshit musician friend of mine still hasn't returned the car and power generator I loaned him two months ago after the windstorm." The older I get the less I care who I piss off.
  20. You must REALLY hate Clinton for skipping out completely, then. And how many missions did YOU fly in Nam, since you're talking up the 'manning up and gone in the regular AF'? Twenty three IIRC as a C-130 loadmaster delivering mogas and diesel to up country army bases in January and February 1969 from Tan Son Nhat Air Base while TDY there from Korat, Thailand. Although I wasn't yanking and banking to avoid SAMS over Hanoi, it still sometimes involved angry little guys on the ground with various firearms pointed upward. As far as Bill Clinton goes, I feel about him as I feel about several hundreds of thousands of others that avoided the draft during that period of time using whatever means, good for them if that's what they felt they had to do, didn't and still doesn't bother me. My plan to avoid the draft and combat in Viet Nam was to "man up" and join the Air Force for four years and be a REMF. You see re the above how that worked out for me. The older I get the less I care who I piss off.
  21. He could have manned up and gone in the regular AF and flown those "ever so safe" F-105s or gunless F-4s in real combat, like real men did. The older I get the less I care who I piss off.
  22. 209 TX Bobby Dean Crump. Was a barber that worked in the same shop as my dad in the mid to late 50s I was about nine years old when he invited us out to watch them jump and after seeing the first jump of the day I was hooked and knew right then that I was gonna' be a skydiver. Don't know whatever happened to him after about 1964. The older I get the less I care who I piss off.

  24. What Turtle actually means is that he's not really a gyno but he'll gladly have a look at it and poke around a little. Myself, none of the above. I find it disturbing to even watch surgical procedures on TV much less perform one. The older I get the less I care who I piss off.
  25. Just finished grilling chicken breasts that have been marinating in teriyaki since noon. Made grilled teriyaki chicken Caesar salads with a couple of them for our dinner. Pretty damed good with a Woodbridge chardonnay out on the deck with ice cold watermelon for dessert.
