  1. Here are the Big offenders owned by Luther Kurtz. They all sell weather insurance priority booking $50 and $100, slots never go to full altitude. I used to work for him. My job ended over a pilot flying an un airworthy airplane and hiding it from me with Luthers knowledge and approval. His ethics are less than moral for someone who is a Lawyer and holds public office. Or maybe just perfect. 2. Confused students can go a hell of a long way with a radio. It happens all the time... the essential part is Instructors and coached present and watching the canopy ops to make certain they know the location of every student especially when there is an equipment failure. 3. 4000 feet is good skydiving altitude. Get a bowling ball Uncle/GrandPapa Whit Unico Rodriguez # 245 Muff Brother # 2421
  4. TI needs to set the harness up for success. The pressure on the femoral artery will definitely put big students to sleep. If you can get them to sit in the harness after opening rather than hanging it makes a huge difference. I take them all sizes and have for a long time. No complaints on weight fees lately. Most are really glad they can skydive. In the past I had a large nurse who I refused threaten to sue me... I just laughed at her and sent her on her way... 5. I have jumped 60" drogues for years on both my micro's. 1) slower freefall 2) slower openings (dont be tooo quick on that cutaway handle) 3) Simon Wade makes some that will last fooooooreeeeeeeeveeeeeer 4) Less wear and tear on your Main canopy 5) Once you figure out the folding it fits in the pouch just fine. 6) You will need to replace your BOC pouch sooner but not much if it is packed nice and tightly and not stretched out. 7) Chubby Videots will need wings to stay with you 8) Maintain them and they will treat you very well. I have 3000+tandems on Simon's 60" drogues and 500 on UPT 60" drogues. The UPT oscillated like crazy and would spin up but not Simons.. Call Simon Wade 702-277-5273 you wont regret it.. I love them... Uncle/GrandPapa Whit Unico Rodriguez # 245 Muff Brother # 2421
  6. I like the older ones. Openings are great. also the same slider as on the 370 so cheap to just keep one for my rigs. Lines need to be and should be replace before the slider does enough damage to amount to anything.. sliders should be replace about as often in my opinion.. 7. As the full time care giver of an adult Autistic son I can tell you this is taking advantage of the system. We see it regularly. People donate to these places which make millions of dollars and pay huge salaries while providing limited openings for their services.... Maybe she is an outstanding provider maybe she is funding her horse farm on the disabilities of Autistic people.. Uncle/GrandPapa Whit Unico Rodriguez # 245 Muff Brother # 2421
  8. find your local S&TA or instructors and have a discussion about the incident. Sounds like you did well and that is the good thing. Any landing everyone walks away from is good. Not knowing ahead of time how your canopy would act on rears and choosing that isnt the best decision in the pattern but in light of the close proximity of the other jumper rear turns respond much more quickly than toggle turns,. Instincts have saved almost as many people as they have killed. Good luck and Blue Skies.. Uncle/GrandPapa Whit Unico Rodriguez # 245 Muff Brother # 2421
  9. I have seen TIs with 10 tandems miss stuff on pre jump inspections so there is no reason to believe you could not miss something. There are only 2 ways to pull the cable pin if the drogue is hooked up correctly. 1 you pulled it 1 you snagged it you already said you did not pull it and now you are certain you inspected it correctly. fucking Tandem gremlin I guess you hook it on the way out before hooking your arm with the drogue bridle. 10. In my experience with Vector 2 tandems and strong tandems, If you did not release the drogue and the drogue was connected correctly then it should have been attached with the main container closed when you arrived at the ground. Chances are the both ends of the double loop were on one drogue release cable instead of each on one separate cable. 1)Improperly connected drogue 2)You pulled the drogue release Uncle/GrandPapa Whit Unico Rodriguez # 245 Muff Brother # 2421
  11. If you use the sigma container and risers and the A2 or sigma or any 2 break line canopy with both lines on 1 toggle you will eliminate line twist on the break lines. They each go thru a ring before the toggle so when you let go of the toggle they untwist as the lines go thru the rings. I have set mine up this way for 12+ years and love it. 12. Maybe USPA should have a foreign Director at large that could be voted on . You clearly have a permanent residence established from which you vote. Uncle/GrandPapa Whit Unico Rodriguez # 245 Muff Brother # 2421

  15. Most manufactures will reharness a container for around $150 to $200 dollars. Its worth it to have a rig that fits on the side of Good rather than a rig that fits on the side of Bad. Not 1 single person in this forum can give you advise worth listening to concerning the safety of your current rig without seeing it on you in person. Speak to a Rigger and S&TA in person with your rig concerning this issue. Uncle/GrandPapa Whit Unico Rodriguez # 245 Muff Brother # 2421
  16. Case by case basis. Meet and evaluate each one of them. If you aren't qualified to assess them find someone who is and as always they should clear it with their doctor prior to all this. All that said knowing their limitations and abilities will help you determine what assisting gear if any would best work for each jumper.. 17. Lots of bulls hit reply to your post. Being safe yet efficient is the goal here. It cost time and more important monew to go around for a second pass. When it is possible to all exit on the same pass that should happen. You asked what you can do better. You can be informed to the airspeed of the aircraft at exit. The winds aloft and learn about drift. You could begin to understand that 8 seconds is,when you were to leave the aircraft not begin your climbout. Questions you have are best directed to your local instructors and S&TA and DZO... don't hesitate to ask questions.. like thisvone. You will get it and your TIS will get over it.. 24. You sure in a hurry to go kill some innocent students... Go thru the go thru if you want to be a TI. You cant blame anyone for your personal situation. Flying Tandems is flying passengers. you may not like the machine that is presently in place but if you want to fly or perform tandems in the US you will comply. It is easier when you leave the belly aching at home and show the docs and administrators your grown up skills.. Uncle/GrandPapa Whit Unico Rodriguez # 245 Muff Brother # 2421
  25. 25kts winds. Gust more than 7kts period. I have jumped in conditions above both limits and seen the results. Gust above 8kts take skill out of the equation and leave nothing but pure luck on a tandem. Our DZ has limits and manifest adheres to them. DZO's and Instructors often say ooohhh its ok lets go....You cant rely on them to make the best decision when $100s and even $1000s of dollars are on the line..( Setting the limits and sticking to them is what good S&TA's are for).. If your DZO is your S&TA and pushes you to jump in these conditions I suggest you contact USPA. 10000+Tandems since Feb 2000 Uncle/GrandPapa Whit Unico Rodriguez # 245 Muff Brother # 2421
