  1. Hello I deploy from Full flight when I jump my base canopies, I collapse the arms before deploying when I use my VX, I noticed too that deploying from full flight is harder on your body like someone else said. Cheers Gabo
  2. http://www.nothingtoxic.com/media/1143725050/Dude_Gets_Launched_Into_the_Sky I guess you can call this a Base jump, I imagine a lot of possible jumps with this device. GAbo

Congratulations Lika Best Wishes from México and The Mex Base Team Gabo
  4. Hello I have around 340 Base Jumps , slider up, slider down , different objects , and so far I've never had a 180 , probably the most I've had is a 90° . Guess I'm lucky. But I had a canopy entangle with another jumper on freefall I was lucky to walk out of that unhurt. I hope never to have a 180 but If I do I feel confident that I'll know what to do (scream and freeze) he he GAbo
  5. Hi I don't mean this post to criticize but personally I don´t like low jumps that much, I´d rather jump a big 3000 ' cliff and being on freefall for over 25 sec. anytime than being one sec on the air and landing. Low jumps present more hazards to your landing and I try to minimize the risks on every jump, big cliffs give you more time to prepare for landing and also to pray when you get yourself on a difficult situation he he!! Slider up Jump rules!!! Gabo PS As I said before this is just my opinion It doesn´t mean I don't do or like low jumps I just prefer big cliffs.
  6. Hello All The video is in the making , as soon as I have it I'll share it via Skydiving movies. Big walls rock!!!!
  7. Hello All I just wanted to share with everyone that we just opened two new walls in the south of México both of them have more than 1000 meters (3000') , one of them has around 700 meters (2100') vertical and a small tallus , the other has like 250 meters ( 750') vertical and a small belly but once you pass that belly you have the complete 1100 meters. The trip lasted 6 days although I have gone to this place on previous trips to check it. The jumpers for the trip were two , Miguel Girón "Dragon" and myself , we had guides , three boats with crew (water landing), 6 kayakers, and three vehicles to make the trip to the exit points. First day we jumped a wall that required a tho hour drive from the place where you hire the boats to the nearest village close to the exit point , once there we made a 20 min. treck to the exit point. The first jump was done with tracking pants. It was a great jump wind conditions were perfect, good exit point with no trees, and great comunication with our crew. Second day we couldn't jump because of winds, since it's a canyon it was very risky to jump in those wind conditions. On the third day we had great weather again, we decided to repeat the jump of the first day , on this ocassion I jumped my V1 and had one of the nicest jumps in my life , my buddy jumped with Phoenix fly pants again. Then we decided to do the other jump although it´s more technical because of a belly the trecking is only 5 minutes from the road. I decided to jump it with the V1 again and had no trouble flying away from the wall and into the canyon, my friend did a great track to outfly the belly and did like a 20 second delay opening still high. I am attaching a picture of the wall so far this is the only one I got but I will post more as soon as a friend that took them sends them to me . Gabo
  8. Hey Jason Well people ask me if I had burned this building already since I was caught at the helipad before Felix jump . The answer is "NO" the reason is that when I was caught I wasn't equipped yet, I had my rig in the Stashbag and was getting ready but the local authorities never checked my bag, je je and they didn´t press charges for tresspasiing or anything I was just warned and they let me go. My story was that I was filming for a short movie and I wanted to film from México's highest point and since I have a camera they bought it! HA It pissed me a little not being part of the jump and I heard that they paid a lot of money to get the B permits and to bribe the police. But the point that pissed me more was that nobody in México knew about Basejumping so it was very easy for me and my friends to do it stealthy, but now more local authorities know and some are pissed saying Felix could have hurt bystanders. So now if we get caught we might be in a little more trouble than before, hopefully not. Cheers Gabo
  9. I have to add that Felix showed very good canopy skills , México City has 7340' of elevation, it was a hot day and he landed on a tiny area. Still I don´t like sites being burned but hey at least in a couple of weeks no one will remember and I´ll do a real bandit jump , je je Gabo
  10. Hello As I said before , he stopped to chat with the press, the whole time the police was helping with the traffic and from keeping people out of the perimeter where he landed. I also have a picture of him (attached) where on the right side of the picture behind the camera guys there is a policeman watching the whole thing, andd from the look on Felix face he doesn't look like he is fleeing the police , does he? Anyway I am not attacking him I am just saying that the news here say it was a bandit jump and me and my friends were feet away from the police which were trying to help make the jump safe for Felix and from all the spectators. Cheers Gabo
  11. Hey I am a local here at México city , personally I was busted trying to jump this B , I was already on the Helipad when they got me (Bastardos) anyway the security was very tight so getting inside was impossible except with a permit which they got probably because of his sponsor. Anyway I watched the jump from below( a little sad for not being a part of it) but at least I saw it, he landed right on the spot. And let me tell you this was a technical landing with only a small area to land. The jump didn't go so well for Felix , the free fall and opening part, I think he overrotated his gainer and had to open in an unstable position, but you can see the pictures as they speak for themselves. In general I was not happy that he burned it but on the other hand I am glad he landed OK and that his jump was a success maybe it will help us open new sites with permits. We have to make the best of it. One last thing , we should not believe what we hear from newspapers , I was right there on the landing area and this was not a bandit jump he had all the permits even from the police , they were even helping with the traffic. They just made that to make it cooler, I even saw Felix in a picture next to an officer who was keeping the people from getting inside of the landing perimeter. PS I have nothing against Felix the description of the jump is just what I saw, and here are the pics Gabo

  15. I have a Protec, I think it´s for Snowboarding, it's called the Ace and it offers better protection than the Skydiving helmets plus it has nice paddings in the ears that also help in cold weather. Gabo
  16. If jumping close to the Mexican Border is becoming a problem why not cross the Border and jump in México ? We have good weather , Mariachis, Tequila, niece people, and some Bad-ass cliffs. Not many antenas though! Cheers Gabo

    Dianese Armor

Hello I have a Dainese Safety Jacket for Downhill, I always use it (except on Wingsuit flights) and I can honestly say that it already saved my back once, maybe even kept me from breaking my spine. I was wraped in my canopy after a 2 way collision and landed on my back in the water , the water was very shallow it barely covered my knees. The impact was so hard that it left me with no air and the river bed was full of stones one dented the spine protector . However I was very lucky and nothing serious happened to me, I think that if I hadn't been wearing the safety jacket I would have had a very bad back injury. I totally recommend it to everyone, I think of it as a must in every jump, same as my helmet and kneepads, and obviously my rig. Gabo
  18. What????? The Mexicans have always been on the map. Congratulations JT I wish I knew what big Tallus everyone is talking about , I just have to imagine it until Keen n able. Cheers Gabo "The Mexi CAN"

  20. Hi I just bought a Neptune a couple of weeks ago and on my last PF jump only with the pants I got these numbers: Exit altitude 12500 Opened at 2600 FF time 87 sec. average spd 82 mph. And the distance covered was incredibly good (this is my point of view) I really recommend the PF suit, it´s really fun !! Hopefully I can jump with a W/S to have a reference like yours. Gabo
  21. Oops I meant 13000 , sorry , but try them it feels as if you are gaining altitude .
  22. Hey I just did an 87 sec. Skydive with just the pants, jump alt was 1300 and I opened at 3000 , my Neptune gave me 85 mph average descent speed and my lowest was 82 mph , I am not tall or thin but I think I have dialed the pants really good . I also jumped very far away from the DZ and made it there with no problem (I wish I had a GPS) , I will have the jacket soon, so It will get better Gabo PS I really recommend to anyone buying a set of PF pants and Jackets , they are amazing !!!!!!!!
  23. Hey Russel You really are an inspiration , heal fast. Best wishes from México Gabo
  24. Thank you JAY this was one of the best trips of my life, and watching the video again, brings back all the good memories. G

    Dead Jaap Pack

YIKES!!! That is just the way I pack my pilot chute , I learned to do it that way and on the Tape I got from CR-Mojo Adam did it that way . I have jumped that way over 250 times and had no problem whatsoever. Maybe I have been very lucky !! Gabo
