PSA to all of our boogie friends and the current and former followers of the RoamingDZ. This years boogie shirt is a little special and is something I had planned on doing for the 10th anniversary but just couldn't get it together. This year with help from Ron Verlander Jr. and Kim Teems we put together what is essentially a History of the RoamingDZ Tshirt. If you look closely it covers all of the locations we have held events, all the way back to the backyard Cessna Boogies we use to have at the house. I held mine at $30 for a long time. I think we went to $40 last year. There are some events that the fees can almost be justified, some are just profiteering. There are some events that bring in a lot of big name organizers, lots of planes, entertainment and so on. Those I can see the fees but what you have is the many paying for the few when it comes to the organizer situation. I refuse to do that and catch a lot of grief for it as you know. Others, you have a DZ that already has the venue,planes and such, they bring in a couple organizers and a grill and charge out the ass. I know this was not pointed at me but will just throw this out there. I like to think I put on a pretty good event for what we charge. I have thought hard every time we raised our fee and I've never raised it just because I cold. I think that is why some are so high and if I was going to price our event where I think I could get away with I think I could get $65-75. I might have to add one or two "big names" for that but who cares, the money would be coming out of everyone else s pockets. See everyone in a couple of days. all the cool kids will be there.

Public Service Announcement : I will be heading to Fitz this morning to begin setup. I will have limited internet access for the next few days. Please direct any questions to the event facebook page for ease of finding and answering. Keep in mind that this is not a full time DZ. This is a once a year event. If you need it, bring it with you. Pull up cords, rubber bands, closing loops and so on. You might be able to find them, you might not. Bring cash. We don't have efficient means to process credit cards on site. There is an ATM in front of WalMart. When we are all done, if you brought it with you take it when you leave. I don't want your broken leftover crap. Everyone leaves on Sunday and a very small group has to clean up after the event. Thanks to all that have helped us in the past and in advance to those that plan to help this year.

Trying to put together a Thursday afternoon balloon load. Here is the catch. This load will only happen if the weather forecast is good enough for the pilot to come in early. If it doesn't happen there will be no other slots available we can either convert your balloon ticket into other lift tickets or refund minus cc fees.If you pay for this flight and don't show your money is gone. I have 7 slots available at the time of this posting.

No need to hold the plane. They'll send the helicopter to get you and drop you off in the boarding area. this is actually a trick question. Doogie wouldn't buy beer from walmart. I'm pissed that y'all took the chopper to the liquor store and didn't invite me.

RoamingDZ Radio: Ok kids, Don't forget to bring a portable radio with you so you can hear manifest where ever you are. RoamingDZ Radio transmits on a regular FM frequency (to be announced) so that you can hear all of the manifest calls. I know it covers the whole property and if I tune the antenna right you can probably hear manifest at WalMart.

For what it's worth, you tried. You even talked to the guy personally. You can't help everyone. Maybe focus on helping the kid. Even if it means pissing the guy off big time or maybe try an anonymous call to the kids school counselor.

Yep, he's going to end up like Michael Jackson at the rate he's going. Um, the pressurization has nothing to do with that. It's not like a pressurized cabin repels marijuana smoke... I'm thinking once they had their masks on, the pilots should have lowered the cabin pressure. Payne Stewart-like for the PAX? Just reduce it to the point they no longer have the energy to be obnoxious asses. I second this. Done it before, works well.

With the canopy skills today I'm surprised that many places still allow them with just 50 jumps. I have been considering raising it to 100 at my event. We use to jump into my yard on New Years and 4th of July. I wouldn't even consider an open invite like we use to do.
