  1. Before we married, my wife had one. Chewed everything - especially wires and the curtains. It was house trained. We have pet rabbits living in enclosures in the yard. They do breed like rabbits. We went from 6 to 45 in two months when the vet 'mis-diagnosed' a male as a female and he was allowed to stay in the same pen as his five sisters. Incestuous little bugger. Here's a site to get answers: http://www.rabbit.org/ It's the House Rabbit Society. Vint . . . . . "Make it hard again." 2. Yeah, that means I eat eggs and use dairy products. Although the idea of drinking milk freaks me out anymore and I've switched to soymilk - Silk. Don't eat a lot of eggs, but I use them in cooking. Real men not only eat quiche, they cook it too. Vint . . . . . "Make it hard again." 5. I got a Shufffle on Thursday. It is way cool. I have an Apple at home with one small glitch of seating the shuffle to a USB port - the Firewire port was in the way. I got a USB extension cable and it worked fine. Came to work and plugged it into the Compaq and it was instantly recognized and started playing. I'm listening to it now and the sound is good. I think the earbuds are okay, but they're big and fit poorly. Very light weight, way cool idea, and I'm looking forward to listening to tunes on the way to altitude this year. The coin pocket idea is a good one - you're right - it fits perfectly. Vint . . . . . "Make it hard again." Missing

I saw it this morning, but it's cloudy out now, and it seems to be playing hide and seek. Vint . . . . . "Make it hard again." Doc Ed “A person needs a little madness, or else they never dare cut the rope and be free” Nikos Kazantzakis
  7. Maybe they were in Washington or Oregon? Suspect in thefts was at WSU More than 3,400 bras and panties found in the home of Sung Koo Kim Bill Morlin Staff writer February 11, 2005 Several unsolved thefts of women's underwear occurred in Pullman between 1999 and 2001 while an Oregon man – now a suspect in similar crimes – attended Washington State University, authorities confirmed Thursday. Sung Koo Kim, who graduated from WSU in 2001, is charged in four Oregon counties with multiple felonies – crimes associated with a collection of 3,400 bras and panties found in a Tigard, Ore., home, where he lived with his parents. Some of that underwear was stolen from laundry rooms at a half-dozen Oregon universities, colleges and apartment complexes after Kim left the Pullman campus, court records say. Investigators say some of the panties and bras may have been taken from the Palouse in the late 1990s. And the article goes on, but you get the idea. . . . . . "Make it hard again." 8. Today is my birthday and after a very hectic day of meetings and teaching and the like, my wife surprised me with an iPod Shuffle. I was totally surprised. I've got it plugged in and charging and I can't wait to give it a try. Coolest present next to new gear I could ever get. My wife is the best. Vint . . . . . "Make it hard again." 10. I'll be 51 next month. I ride the carts just about every time I go to the store. I was riding a cart one time last summer and this woman started laughing at me. I said, "It's fun!" She said she hoped she was around when I crashed. She just didn't get it. Vint . . . . . "Make it hard again." 11. My wife and I went to the grocery store Saturday night, a typical Saturday evening. We even joke about it being our weekly date since we end up there most Saturday evenings. I like to ride the shopping carts. You know, push off and hop up and ride the cart for awhile through the parking lot. Did that Saturday and when I hopped up I felt a pop in my calf and an immediate burning sensation. Oh-oh. When I finished the ride near the car, I gingerly let myself down and felt pain in my calf. I thought I’d torn something in my calf. I couldn’t walk in a normal manner - I have to shuffle, like Festus. Looks really stupid and I'm really slow. Lots of Ibruprofen, ice and an oxycontin left over from years ago. The leg seems slightly better, today. I actually made it around work without major problems and it seemed better at the end of the day than when I started the day. Ah, the joys of being out of shape and older than I was. I’m just glad it’s not jumping season. Vint . . . . . "Make it hard again." Doc Ed “A person needs a little madness, or else they never dare cut the rope and be free” Nikos Kazantzakis

    BRRRR

Damn wacky weather. Last Thursday and Friday it was below zero, then it snowed like crazy on Saturday, turned to ice on Sunday and Monday, and today it's over 50 and all the snow is just about gone. And we could get more snow again next week. Vint - Eastern Washington . . . . . "Make it hard again." 16. Dishman area? I live one block off Dishman-Mica Road. That's where the arrow is pointing. I work at University HS. This is my stomping area now, although I grew up on the South Hill and lived in the Seattle area for 16 years when I got old enough to get out of Spokane. There is no snow this year, at least not yet. In that pic I'm more surprised there isn't any cloud cover in western Washington. Vint . . . . . "Make it hard again." 18. I don't like the stuff, but my wife sure does. Glenlivet, Glenfiddich, and Islay are the mainstays, although she says, "They're all good." I told her about this post and she went and got out the mini - samplers she has and took a sip of Dalwhinnie and declared it really good. Her birthday is coming up, and traditionally I get her a bottle of something good. Vint . . . . . "Make it hard again." 9 to 5

Ahem... I worked on that film. Did optical effects for the 'party' sequence, and the Dolly Parton section (roping Hart and the like) was specifically my section. That was back before video took over and way before CGI. The co. I worked for got credit, but not all of the technicians and specialists, unlike now when everyone gets their name in the credits. Because of that movie, i got to make a few jumps in Connecticut. And live in Manhattan for two months at the company's expense. Cool experience that i would never trade away for anything. broken jaw

A co-worker's son, junior in college, was at a frat party last weekend and a fight started between these two guys. He tried to stop the fight and someone coldcocked him from the side. He was out for 7 minutes, and his jaw is so badly mangled that they had to surgically repair it and it's going to be wired shut for 6-8 weeks. He's eating through a syringe. The tough part is he's on the verge of becoming a world class pole vaulter, having gone to the NCAA Championships last year, and now he'll miss the indoor season. Much better story, don't you think? 22. I am one of two vegetarians at our small dz. Those who get the food ready for the weekend parties and such take us into account and always have Gardenburgers and the like for us, or make a pan of vegie lasagna to go with all the meat eaters' stuff. We get some ribbing about it, of course, but nobody disses us too much. There are even a number of calorie/fat conscious people who'll have the vegie-burgers as well. The small food service provided at the Lost Prairie boogie took vegetarians into account as well. There were vegie burgers available, although they were about twice the $ of the beef burgers. sat scores

Yep. They should be on your official h.s. transcript. Check with the registrar/counseling office. If you need them for admission to a college program or such, keep in mind that many colleges will only accept offical scores sent directly to them from the College Board. It'll cost you about $30 or so, and there's an extra fee just because it's that long ago. Go to collegeboard.com and look around for ordering info. Vint . . . . . "Make it hard again." 25. We got some stupid solicitation yesterday, an ad disguised as a survey for a local radio and tv station. It really riled my wife, and I told her about people mailing stuff back to the solicitors. She was really excited about it. I had told her about that thread, so now I can have her read it too, and she can start on a new mission. Thanks for the chuckles. Vint . . . . . "Make it hard again."
