Several of my students are wearing Yankees hats with this large, gold label on the bill. (see attached) I offer to take the label off for them and they are offended - it's part of the allure. I quit and came back. Family issues, and a change of jobs and education and the like. I quit in '81, with a few jumps here and there until about 5 years ago, when I came back. Never sold my gear, but it was out of date/style big time, so upgraded to something a little more modern. I wish I had never quit, but I know it was for the best. On SNL last week, Natalie Portman did a Sasha Cohen imitation as a comedian during the Weekend Update segment. Amy Pohler and Tina Fey were the commentators. Natalie, for her long joke, did a version of the Aristocrats. It was much funnier knowing the joke, having watched the movie. The movie was pretty weird in parts. Vint . . . . . "Make it hard again." I got my flu shot in October. I work in a school. I'm not taking any chances. I then went to my chiropractor and asked him his opinion of flu shots, not telling him I had just received one. He proceeded to tell me 'why would you inject poison into your body?' and that none of his four kids had ever had a single vaccination. One extreme or another, I guess. Vint . . . . . Back in the dark ages when I was jumping... Oh, wait... I mean, yeah, I jumped one in about 1980 or so; I'd have to dig our my old logbook for the exact dates. There was a dz in Issaquah, WA, outside Seattle. The dzo, Jamie, arranged for some kind of 'training' and got the miltary to provide a Chinook. We jumped it for two days. I recall it hauling ass to altitude and having a really big tail door to run out of, and the down wash from the rotors made you tumble if you didn't pay attention. I shot some 16mm with a gun camera I had mounted to my helmet. There was a United 737 that took off out of SeaTac and turned in underneath us about 1500' below. Very impressive.
