  1. I learned it this way from the begining, so I have always done it and it works, but why: When I put the d-bag in the tray, I have already stowed and tucked the tabs on the risers. I coil the last bit of lines in the tray. Then I put the bag (lines towards the bottom) into the tray and rotate it upwards so that the bridle attachment gromet is wedged against the reserve tray. Why don't I/we set the bag in the tray and leave the bridle attachment facing out? ...FUN FOR ALL!
  2. Stable could imply good body position and speed. Which is more important: body position or speed? If you are flat and falling at 150+, what else can you do? ...FUN FOR ALL!
  3. What is it that you can do? I keep hearing this, and when I demoed the Sabre 2 at the same size as my Sabre, I didn't notice what all the fuss was about? I did notice the off heading openings that were a little slower than my current openings, but as far as flying the canopy goes, I didn't find the canopy all that different. Just my opinion (which is not the most experienced out there). ...FUN FOR ALL!
  4. I have a G4 tower and PC 105 and iMovie works just fine. I don't remember which versions of software I have, but it works. ...FUN FOR ALL!

  6. I am currently Demoing a Sabre 2 150, and normally fly a Sabre 150. This is what I thought of the weekend jumping it... It opens weird - off heading, end cells closed, slider half way up, etc. It Does open soft though
  7. I am demoing a Sabre 2 150 .... I normally fly a Sabre 150, and I was surprised on how inconsistant the openings were. Like it has been said alread, some were smooth 90s and I had a couple 360+. None of them opened on heading, but none of the openings were violent in any way, they pretty soft in fact. ...FUN FOR ALL!
  8. This sounds like the way I pack my Sabre. I don't get hard openings, and I never really have. But I found a method and stick with it. Roll the nose, tuck back towards the middle of the canopy, pull the slider out in front, and roll the tail. I am always reall careful to keep the slider gromets on the stops. Good luck! ...FUN FOR ALL!

  10. Not that it was right, but the DZ where I learned to Skydive encouraged me not to get anything bigger than my Sabre 150 when I bought my first rig. They said I would get bored with anything bigger. I jumped it with a 1.2+ wingloading for the first time at 30 jumps. I never thought twice about it, nor have I ever had a problem flying it or landing it. 130 + jumps later, I don't know if it was the safest recommendation, but I am not going to up size. I am sure that a Stilleto would be a very poor choice for anybody with less than a couple hundred jumps, but I think size depends on the instructors views. Fly Safe! ...FUN FOR ALL!
  11. Just got mine in the mail a couple of weeks ago I won't be jumping with it for a while, but it fits great, the chin strap kicks ass, and the camera is snug as a bug. They look cool as s#$t too!! It is also a great deal. ...FUN FOR ALL!
  12. Not many used canopies available I was scheduled to get my Sabre2 150 Demo in the mail today...Haven't seen it, Fed Ex tracks it to L.A. I am scheduled to have it for a couple weeks, as well as a Saphire 2 149 for a week. I will try to wring them out and post some input... Anybody have advice on things to do while demoing canopies? My intentions have been to spend the weekend in Lodi taking advantage of cheap jump tickets, and extremely cheap Hop and Pops. Hopefully I will be able to get some good jump numbers on each canopy. But...No Canopy yet ...FUN FOR ALL!
  13. There doesn't seem to be too many Pilots on the used market...It is hard for younger jumpers to justify spending 1500 bucks on a canopy, not knowing what they like, what they want to get into, etc. I think that is why the Sabre is so popular, there are tons of used ones to buy. ...FUN FOR ALL!

    Free at last!

I guess having an ER Doc on your ground crew could be a valuable asset?! I hate being enslaved to the "Man"! Be careful over the next few months (Knock on wood), every time I get off of probation or finish those dreaded payments; I seem to find more trouble to pay for. Good Luck and Congratulations on a chapter finished! ...FUN FOR ALL!
  15. First and Foremost - What happens at a Bachelor Party is not to be revealed to any involved women, only harm can come of it. Second - Trust is important. If you can't turn your back for a couple days of partying and let the boys be boys, then marriage should be reconsidered. Lastly - At least he didn't do the unmentionable acts AFTER the wedding! ...FUN FOR ALL!

  17. I am getting a Demo canopy this week, and I am wondering where I can put the most jumps on it in a weekend. Is there a DZ in California that does less expensive low altitude jumps? Where could I jump from sun up to sun down in an atmosphere condusive to feeling out a canopy? ...FUN FOR ALL!
  18. Is it your position then, that someone who is freeflying with a small integrated camera helmet has the same safety concerns as someone with a full rack of equipment who's objective is to get video and stills of the jump? I don't want to leave any stones unturned. People need to know what they are getting into. ...FUN FOR ALL!

  21. How would I arrange to do intentional cutaways? It seems that there is a grey line between an experienced jumper and one who has had a couple cutaways. I have seen many jumpers with hundreds and thousands of jumps without a cutaway. Should they use the RSL? ...FUN FOR ALL!
  22. I have done some searches and found a little information....But my question is this: I am looking to move from my Sabre 150 to something more elliptical, and all I know about is the Sabre 2. What other canopies would make good transition canopies- Safire 2? Others? Does Icarus have a demo program? I will be flying a camera in the future, so soft opening is a factor. Any opinions are appreciated. ...FUN FOR ALL!
  23. I like to shoot more often than I do. On average, lets call it once every month sometimes two. Some guns I shoot less. I have one in a soft case with a silica desacant bag with it, I have a long gun in a carry case with corduroy interior, and an auto in an original box that has egg crate foam. Would the soft case be better than the original box? Can I get desecant at a gun store? ...FUN FOR ALL!
  24. What is the best way to store handguns (or rifles)? In a nice gun case/bag, in the original palstic box with foam, in an aftermarket folding softcase? Anyone? David ...FUN FOR ALL!
