  7. That depends on what you have. I would much rather rebuild a bike than buy a showroom antique. Give me the low-down! ...FUN FOR ALL!
  8. Marin Aparijo was the bomb, I watched him and the other GT guys do a demo at Knott's Berry Farm in ...198? And his Hair kicked ass! I would love to have a pink Pro Freestyle Tour, or a GT blue Pro Performer. Where did all of those old bikes go? ...FUN FOR ALL!
  9. Why don't you think it would Rock?! Who are you to say Besides what makes you think I could even make the bike do any tricks other than a endo or a rear wheel pogo? ...FUN FOR ALL!
  10. What are these GTs that you speak of? I was into freestyle in the 80's and Martin and Tony (team GT) were the shizzznit! I would love top get my hands on an original GT Performer/Pro Perfomer or Pro Freestyle Tour. Wanna sell a bike? ...FUN FOR ALL!
  11. Its all situational... In the car - let the wind take it, if it won't set it on the mirror. In the house - The Fish love it! In Bed - Dog Food! In the office - Roll and flick ...FUN FOR ALL!
  12. I have the same attitude that you have, although I am confident in my sewing skills. I also saw no reason to spend $250 on a FF suit when I can make my own for $50. It took a couple of weeks, but well worth it. My best advice is this... Look at someone else's suit for the tricky parts: velcro, cuffs, zipper, etc. Measure some of your loose fitting clothes, and add inches where you think that you might need it... I added about 10-12 inches to the length dimensions of my loose fitting chords. Lay out some fabric and draw the lines. I took the basic shape of each panel from other clothes. If you can sacrifice a pair, rip the seams on a pair of pants and look at the basic shape and freehand you pattern. I actually cut out and pinned a pattern out of soome cheap material, sewed it, trimmed the excess, ripped it apart, and now I have a good pattern that I can reuse. I had to make some adjustments when it was done, but it turned out great. My buddy copied the pattern and made himself a nice suit too. It was a great experience, and I learned alot about my machine. If you have any questions let me know! Good Luck! ...FUN FOR ALL!
  13. Not a smart ass question, really...But why do most of the posts on this thread include either someone's name and/or picture? If it is something to worry about, why does the guru who's name starts with the letter after S, always post his full name, and others publish their photograph as an Avatar? ...FUN FOR ALL!

  16. There is only one reason that we Junkies buy new gear...ITS NEW! I have a problem and I will admit it, I buy for no real good reason other than it feels good to buy. But if you don't need one and you have the will to resist, more power to you. ...FUN FOR ALL!
  17. This is some great stuff, and I would like to add some as a novice FFer and SDer. I have luckily picked up a bunch of good knowledge regarding load organization, spotting, exit order from DZ.com and my inquisitive nature. The problem I see is that people with 20 to 100 jumps with average inquisition and less than average internet presence are in a dangerous spot. I feel there should be required education regarding FFing, exit order, and spotting in post A-license and AFF progression. I see too many people with my same experience that know very little regarding the dangers of FFing with other inexperienced jumpers, don't really understand the physics or reasons behind spotting and load organizing, nor do they know that they are missing any info. I will make sure that I don't hurt myself or others, but I am afraid of others blowing through my altitude/air space. Just my concerns on the education of skydivers/freeflyers. ...FUN FOR ALL!
  18. I started learning to sit on my own right after AFF progression. I was doing front flips and landed on my butt, and liked it. 2 major points though.... MAKE SURE YOUR GEAR IS FREEFLY FRIENDLY... I have seen people go out and do headdown in worn out student gear...not smart GET COACHING/ADVISE FROM PEOPLE AT YOUR DZ... You want to get instruction and have experienced people to help you be SAFE in your setting. Then have fun and learn to fly that sack of bones! ...FUN FOR ALL!
  19. 10-4... I have gotten to the point where I can fly fast the whole time and don't go to my belly, but I see others that are learning and they go out in three or four ways, and I don't think that the people that they are jumpinig with realize the potential for trouble. How long should one sit before going Head Down? ...FUN FOR ALL!
  20. It is a shame that politics and money are the reason many DZs are not USPA rated. It is my understanding that there is a cost increase to be a USPA member if you have a turbine aircraft. My home DZ has a King Air, but is a small operation and chooses not to spend the $ for USPA membership, yet it is a safe and fun place. All USPA rated staff! ...FUN FOR ALL!

Where do you get spectra, and other "exotic" fabric or material? When I bought the material to make my jumpsuit, I couldn't find anything at the fabric store that resembled supplex or the type of thread that was recommended for it. Any ideas on where to get these types of materials? ...FUN FOR ALL!

  23. I have not taken one yet because the opportunity has not presented itself. I try to talk to people and read about cannopy control as much as possible. I really enjoy flying my cannopy, almost as much as the skydive. I can't imagine opening lower than 4000, you wouldn't have enough time to play on your wing! ...FUN FOR ALL!
  24. To All... I don't feel it is safe for me to go out and FF with others until I have my sit controllable and stable. I have really only gone out to sit when it is a coach or somebody who is a badass free flyer. If you cork out because you are not stable yet, relative speeds can be vaery dangerous. Am I correct in this thinking. I want to be safe, but I don't want to be a prude. ...FUN FOR ALL!
