  1. The 'big hit' pic is of my (at the time) 9 year old replica sending a shot over the right fielder's head. The ball is just coming off the bat, He had a game winning, 2 out, walk off 2 RBI double in his first round of playoffs that year. You might say his self esteem was not lacking after that. The other two pics are of my (at the time) 12 year old, he was leaning weird in this swing, but it sure did fly away... 2. Viking Air will be making more of them. Hopefully this will put a slight downward pressure on the price of used twotters and their spare parts: http://www.aero-news.net/index.cfm?ContentBlockID=a71d8a20-6844-4a2c-8d03-79b39b9ff3c6& The article mentions that PT6A-35 engines with 4 bladed props will be available. Has that been available before? People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. 4. I do not understand the resistance either Oh, come on now, the resistance from dems is because they know that voter fraud benefits them overall. If the dems thought that Repub supporters were committing more voter fraud, then their worries about the potential violations of privacy and such would not concern them at all. 5. Rigs without the secondary covers tend to have 'deeper' primary covers instead. This is shown by how much the side flaps of such rigs extend to serve as that deep, protected channel for the risers. Rigs with secondary covers (I think) Infinity Vector III Mirage People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. 6. As Darkwing brought up, what mfg/model canopy sits around for so long? Being on the shelf that long should warrant an additional discount compared to custom, I would think. 7. I object to this direct personal attack against Darius. That doesn't come even close to a direct personal attack, in my opinion. He chose to believe the asshole Iranian leadership instead of the Brits, and should expect to take some heat for that decision. 9. I can see why you'd say that given the right-wing's ability to intentionally fail to absorb any presentation of information that doesn't fit their ideological position (or more precisely the idiological positions of their politicians.) It is the left wing that is intentionally deciding to ignore information that doesn't fit their template. The information being ignored isn't in the form of crappy analogies. 10. Your description of the "parable" was quite simple. Now we realize that you didn't intend the situation to be limited to the conditions you had stated - why is it necessary to be vague? That means the room might also be in Yellowstone National Park sitting on top of Old Faithful. Still seems like a lousy analogy. Your ability to make crappy analogies, that you now don't even fully describe, is without limit. 11. The first reaction is that you left out any other heat sources and sinks because you want to portray the situation in a simple model. That, and because using lousy analogies is natural to you. 14. I hope you just took this parable from another source, it would be a shame to waste so much time personally writing such a crappy analogy. Your room should have multiple sources of heating and cooling, with some of those souces acting quite sporadically. To simplify the actual circumstances to one electric heater is to insult the intelligence of the reader. Perhaps that is the reason for the crappy analogy, you might think that people are too stupid to understand anything beyond a one variable problem. 15. Quite right to correct the original poster if you are in fact in contact with the DZO. However, I think the folks at Vigil have earned a reputation for passing out the bullshit given the smelly crap that was spread around recently when the nearly useless advice was given to avoid hot temperatures. That example of 'analysis' and countermeasure doesn't inspire confidence, it leads to a conclusion that you don't have a clue what is going on or how to fix it. 20. I suggest getting someone else you respect, that weighs the same, to jump your rig. Video the landings and you will either be able to see what it takes to land your canopy well, or you may find out your canopy has problems. You're not overloading your canopy, but there may be something wrong with it. I struggled to achieve good landings most of the years I've been jumping. I could only get a stand up maybe 2 of 10 times from my first 3 square canopies, then I finally bought a canopy that wasn't already trashed and landing was suddenly very easy. Those easy landings go a long way toward making a day of jumping fun, and greatly reduce the fear of getting injured. 21. Line overs can also happen when a brake releases during opening I agree with the peckerhead dude! It was in the advertisements for some early paraflite square reserves. I don't know if it was the safety flyer or safety star, but they compared it to round reserves, and that squares don't suffer this malfunction mode. Of course that was when squares really did have a square shape. Seriously, though, I agree that the line over malfunction didn't seem to exist on the radar until pro-packing, but maybe it is more attributable to higher aspect ratio canopies or some other factor. 22. The desert dust is very destructive to gear, perhaps the lure of that grass is just too much for some? The available landing area is of course vast. The new policy at Eloy seems very reasonable. People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. 23. I saw it done years ago very cheap, but I have no idea how safe. Rigger covered a piece of carpet padding with cordura, and attached it to the back of the pack tray. (I think it was just one piece... might have had more on the sides too). Very clean... dunno how he attached it, but it was easily removable. That a safe solution? Dave Quite right, I think that if a person doesn't care about the size of a rig being larger than needed, then it should be no problem - but don't let just anybody do it. It must be executed without any hidden snag points. People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. 24. I do a flat/stack pack with the nose rolled to the center on each side, and with the nose pointed 'down/into the ground' just like a pro pack does. There is nothing about a flat pack that prevents you from doing that with the nose. Some will do a flat pack even faster than a pro pack. The stack pack used to be called 'factory pack'.
