  1. I like Booth's Laws, I printed them and posted them at the DZ.
  2. Oh and in stage 6 you agree with everything your Wuffo friends say. i.e. they say: "Isn't skydiving insane?" You reply: "Yes, I watch Real TV too" Or you flat out lie: i.e. they say: "I saw this guy on tv, his parachute didn't open, so he used his backup parachute, do you carry one of those?" you reply: "Absolutely not, thats for weenies"
  3. Yes, you'll fall into so many stages with wuffos: STAGE 1: Tell everyone about it, tell them how great it is, tell them how they MUST do it to survive in this crazy newfandango world. STAGE 2: Singulary convince just a small group individually picked by your best judgement that you know will have a truely great experience. Hound them, and be disappointed when one excuse rolls after another. But you still try, only to be blindsided by yet another excuse. STAGE 3: You stop talking about it until someone mentions skydiving. Then you bust out with your enthuesiam and regress back to STAGE 1 temporarily. STAGE 4: Realization that your friends are leaving, and being replaced with people you can actually 'talk to'. When your wuffo friends show interest, you tell them where they can get info, and recommend your home DZ. Your interest is slightly tarnished in them. STAGE 5: You perk up at the word skydiving, but by now everyone you know, knows you jump, and questions are answered briefly but adaquetely. STAGE 6: (i'm here now) Someone asks you about skydiving, and you hand them a business card and tell them to "be safe out there." You offer no information save for that, even when they pester you for more. STAGE 7: ???? I'll tell you when i get there

    The Flu

This is gonna just sound horrible, but if you wanna stay healthy, stop or slow down on drugs and alcohol. They kill the immune system. I never get sick because I rarely drink in the winter months when we are all holed up in the house. And my kids in daycare...yowsers. The flu shot has been good for every year except this one. (Mom's a microbiologist, and comming from her). They didn't get the right strand in this years vaccination, so GOOD LUCK!
  5. Ohhhhhh I've said it before and I'll say it again... We'll be seeein 'that' present again...next year!
  6. The medical statement is hidden within the SIM. Keep searching, i don't have mine handy so i can't tell you exactly which page. It's a little box with 2 short paragraphs. Don't worry about class 3's till you start TM'n, as stated.
  7. Is it skydiving equipment? If so then NO...cause... SKYDIVING EQUIPMENT DOES NOT ARRIVE ON FRIDAY!!!
  8. any way you can scan it and post it? since there are a couple versions of the A card, it would make it easier to distinguish
  9. I would definately watch someone else attempt it. Where's the beer?
  10. In 2 jumps i'll be a 1400 jump wonder. Same situation happens when you have kids. After the first, they always say..."oh well wait till you have 2 kids" Then you have a second "oh you don't know anything till you have 3 kids" Then you have two sets of twins in 12 months and it's commin "oh 6 kids...shit wait till you have an albino monkey throwin poop in your trailer while raising 18 kids on a $250 a month paycheck" never ends...depends on who you hang with...you 300 jump......
  11. Lord of the Rings...how big of a fan are you. Oh, and if anyone else out there has option 6 checked......
  12. I can't believe it is going to be 62 degrees on Saturday (20th), CO is being good this year.
  13. Lets hear the pros and cons of the Havok from a dealers prospective JP Here's mine: PROs: We all wanted that cool helmet for skydiving we first saw in "True Lies" when the boyfriend picks up the daughter on the crotch rocket. CONs: O-V-A engineered, bit bulky, makes your cranium look odd. Never jumped it, but thats straight from the library of GQ.
  14. Mine was Monday, it's ova till Jan 19th...i'll have to compensate for more useless drivil, and nutzy nerdy polls.
  15. LOL, the great thing about Mike is he always has something quotable to say!
  16. 9 Chops --3 w/ RSL --1 w/ Skyhook The RSL works so fast, you generally don't have a chance to get the Reserve Ripcord out. It really is that fast. But depending on your malfunction, container, reserve, airspeed, functioning RSL, it may not be fast, or be at all. Go through the motions. Not just for 'saving your lifes sake but to avoid the razzing on the ground
  17. I have the Wiggles CD. I'll make sure it's playing at the DZ soon!!!
  18. By the time you resell it you'll want it factory referbished anyway, they will install a new strap then. Cut it, it's not worth the damage you can do by taking the camera apart with your glasses screwdriver.
  19. No, what i was saying was, I stopped playing before the 3rd Edition came out.
  20. Is this your first season in CO? You'll find it interesting jumping through the winter. The temp at altitude, never seems to scale like sea level DZ's (something about an inversion layer). It really isn't that bad, now some days are worse than others but all in all CO is not a bad winter home. CO jumpers tend to love winter weather because we get a taste of how a parachute is supposed to fly!!! My suggestion is to go to R.E.I. and get these $5 glove inserts, they don't look like much, but they fit in your football/baseball gloves easily and keep finger tips warm. Coldest Jump thus far though: CO Winter 2001, first doing ariel shots for a local company out of the jump plane, so for 30 minutes hanging out of the door taking pics while the plane circled (about -25 out). Then went to altitude, took some shots of the DZ and jumped. When i opened, my fingers were so cold i couldn't grip the toggles, so i got my fingers through them and held them like an up-side-down "U" and slid through the snow like a metoriod.
  21. D&D was good for 5th graders, you didn't get cloged down in the rules...hell even college grads got confused LOL
