  1. Here's the one on my plane. Looked thru the records to see how it was done. Its a 337 from 1985. Replying to: Re: Stall On Jump Run Emergency Procedure? by billvon If the plane is unrecoverable then exiting is a very very good idea.
  2. ................................................................................. I don't care if they pencil-pack because I get paid every time my name appears on their packing data card. It does not matter if I was out of the country or in hospital, I expect to get paid every time my name appears on their packing data card. If they refuse to pay, I quietly hand them their reserve. Then I hand them their reserve ripcord. Then I hand them their free-bag. Then I hand them their reserve packing data card with an ugly black line obscuring any erroneous dates. So you don't care as long as you get paid. That's fucked up. Reminds me of the joke about the guy that ask the girl if she would have sex with him for a million dollars and she say yes. Then he asks her if she would have sex with him for ten dollars and she says no, what kind of girl do you think I am? The guy says we already determined that, now we're just quibbling over price. 3. http://www.thewarmingstore.com/high-heat-gear-glove.html Came across these while looking for warm stuff for my motorcycle. Looks like the might work for skydiving. Waiting for a reply to see if they have a retail store where I can check them out. For the price of five jumps I would buy them if the dexterity is there. FreezeFest isn't that far off... 5. Not positive but I think the J1ks is shorter from the yoke to the bottom of the container than the J1kl along with different main sizes. The J2 is sized for a larger reserve and a 150 main. 6. Are you worried about appearance or reserve size? Replying to: Re: Stall On Jump Run Emergency Procedure? by billvon If the plane is unrecoverable then exiting is a very very good idea.
  7. I used to dream about a double wide with a k car on cinder blocks across the street from Carolina Sky Sports as my retirement plan till that selfish bastard decided he had enough. 8. Think about it. As the air is heated and rises it gets replaced with cooler air coming from the grass areas on the perimeter of the asphalt. This causes the air above the grass to desend down to replace the air that's moving over to the asphalt causing a down draft. So it's not a loss of lift but actually being in a column of desending air. 9. Oh yea, don't be giving them a ragged out 40 year old rig to fly with. They just might need it someday. Replying to: Re: Stall On Jump Run Emergency Procedure? by billvon If the plane is unrecoverable then exiting is a very very good idea.

  13. Send it back to PD. There is no reason to wonder if there is something wrong with it. I bought a used Vengence that I jumped once. Sent it to PD , they test jumped it and wouldn't send it back to me. Gave me a credit toward a new canopy. 14. This is what works for me most of the time. 56 182 with electronics international engine 6 cylinder analyzer. I keep cylinder temp below 400 with airspeed and mixture. Climb between 85 and 90 depending on ambient temps. I try to be 2 minute early on jump run to start the cooling process. I put the EI into shock cool mode. This shows the cooling rate of the cylinders in degrees per minute. This helps with the shock cooling on the cut. After they're gone 15 inches and 2200 rpm. Descend at 500 fpm for 2 thousand feet. By then the cyl head temps are below 300 and they won't be shock cooled below that temp. Then it's carb heat and idle, 115 indicated airspeed which slows the tach time. Turn full loads to 10000 agl in about 28 minutes. Replying to: Re: Stall On Jump Run Emergency Procedure? by billvon If the plane is unrecoverable then exiting is a very very good idea.

  18. I can see his argument but I'm sure he will lose. "§105.21 Parachute operations over or into a congested area or an open-air assembly of persons. (a) No person may conduct a parachute operation, and no pilot in command of an aircraft may allow a parachute operation to be conducted from that aircraft, over or into a congested area of a city, town, or settlement, or an open-air assembly of persons unless a certificate of authorization for that parachute operation has been issued under this section. However, a parachutist may drift over a congested area or an open-air assembly of persons with a fully deployed and properly functioning parachute if that parachutist is at a sufficient altitude to avoid creating a hazard to persons or property on the surface." If he wasn't getting paid and it wasn't part of the program... There is no definition of a congested area so airmen always lose on that alone. This jump preceded the new 1052e which states "(b) Any parachute jumping demonstration planned in conjunction with a public aviation event will require a COA with appropriate special provisions as required by § 105.21, even if the landing area exceeds the maximum dimensions for a Level I area. A parachute jumping demonstration planned in conjunction with a public aviation event is one that takes place any time after the first spectator arrives for the event that day." The only thing that I can think of is a bunch of old military guys that like the Julian calendar.
