  1. I made "breathe" a part of my all my jumps. In the door: BREATHE, check in, check out, check prop, BREATHE, up, down, out Circle of awareness: BREATHE, horizon, alti, reserve instructor, main instructor, arch, BREATHE On pull: BREATHE, arch, reach, pull, arch, BREATHE My instructors thought it was super funny, especially in the door when I had not one of my usual AFFIs for the first time . They saw how it helped me, so they made it a part of all my dive flows for AFFI and even the coach jumps. I still take that breathe in the plane and on jumps when i feel like i'm getting unstable, helps center me every time! Good Luck and HAVE FUN!
  2. Perhaps there needs to be a pack... to go after maroon panda's so far no one is 'fessing up to being one, seems like we have a nice little pack of wolves going though!
  3. silver/red wolf says when i'm in love, i know how to get around maroon pandas better leave me alone!
  4. I'm sad i'm missing this! Def think i will hafta plan on coming to the one next st. pattys day!
  5. Why stop at four???? You can use hair ties to attach one to each wrist, and each ankle, plus two on the helmet, and the chest one. 7 is way better than four, think of all the cool shots you will get of yourself on your awesome skydives!
  6. They do have a 'bunkhouse' with some beds there. Dorm style, but if its only for the night, its free and right there... I was going to camp there on my visit, but was lucky enough to get offered a couch. Good peeps, have fun there!
  7. Knows from experience it only takes gonzo a millisecond...
  8. Can't juggle as many beer cans as gonzo.
  9. Is getting WAY too big a kick outta being made fun of...
  10. At my home DZ, I did a tandem, knew I was hooked and called back to ask about AFF and possibly finding something to do there that would help pay off my jumps. The options were packing and manifest. My DZ had a real need of manifest at that point so I got lucky and they gave me a weekend job. I had to balance trying to get my jumps in with working, but they really tried to make it work for me and I actually enjoyed doing manifest. Best thing you can do is call and ask, the worst they will tell you is no.
  11. Who needs someone? Oh wait, this isn't about me... brags about his sewing projects.
  12. So did you really end up submitting for it? We sent ours in yesterday!
  13. How much time off work would be required for someone selected for the show?
  14. Don't overthink your tandem! Go out and just enjoy it and really try to wrap your head around what skydiving is going to feel like. Ask your Tandem Instructor any questions you may have, but I would say to just go and really have fun with it. AFF, LISTEN AND ASK QUESTIONS! Practice, breath, and remember to enjoy. They will walk you thru everything you need to know, so absorb and you will do well. Have fun and good luck!
  15. hmmmm, i'm having trouble with this! I'm playing around with a SWAT Team Acronym (skydivers will/with/without ....) but nothing has sounded right so far. Or an "innocent" skydiving statement which a Whuffo wouldn't get (don't head down on my belly! keep your dbag away from mine!) but again, nothing is hitting the mark. Any suggestions?
  16. Wishes he was a farm animal so pops would handle him.
