  1. Eat as you normally would the day of your jump, and STAY HYDRATED! People seem to think fasting before they jump so they have an empty stomach is a good idea, its not! If you think a single chocolate bar that day will 'help' you, go for it. One chocolate bar isnt going to kill a diet, but dont just eat sugary stuff. Water water water stay hydrated. It is so easy to foget the basics when you are so amped and excited for something. As far as the harness breaking, if you are under the limits, it wont. The limits in place are usually a bit less than what the gear can actually support so that way there is no way we are flirting with the actual safety limits. I've seen big TIs take 240-250lb guys skydiving before. Relax, breathe, try to quit worrying, and enjoy the ride. You can drive yourself crazy with what ifs because there is always something that 'could' happen, no matter how unlikely.
  2. mine was a 6-way hybrid with outside video outta the sherpa at summerfest this year. my crew was awesome enough to save my pieing until after the HF Toga party started. Good times!

  9. hi poeppe! welcome to the addiction. the only answer i have for you is to work, a lot. people always ask me how i afford to do this, and the answer is i work three jobs, 7 days a week, usually 10 hour days. if i make three jumps in a weekend i am happy. the most i have made is 10, but i work my ass off for it. don't go above your means, and if you are willing to put in the time and effort, you can make it happen. it isn't easy, but if you love it enough, you sacrafice for what is really important to you.
  10. Thanks SBG! I was already on their website checking it out

  15. Have a blast and make sure you say hello while at Tecumseh. Midwest Freefall also in Michigan is always fun, Skydive Chicago is amazing, and I have had nothing but good times at Start Skydiving in Ohio also. Feel free to shoot me a pm if you have specific questions, look forward to sharing the sky with you
  16. Hey All! So, this seemed to be the most appropriate forum for this as it is not skydiving related. I am job searching because I want to get OUT of Michigan, preferably to a state further south where I can jump more than six months a year. Skydiving isn't my only motivation for relocating, but lets be honest, it is a big part of it

  22. At the home DZ, whichever passed down skydiver trailor has room on a couch, chair, futon, or bed for me. Traveling, I usually take a tent, sometimes just stretch out in the back of my car, or bunkhouse if they have it, or get lucky and get invited home for dinner with a couch or bed with my new friends. I'm lucky that I'm short enough where the back of my car doesn't completely suck, and I have been amazed with the friendships I have made traveling so far. This really has introduced me to a sky FAMILY where for the most part, we all take care of each other.
