  1. I believe the 30 day rule is still correct. At my DZ, if it was more than 30 days, you had to basically do a refresher of the entire class, and if you were already in student progession, I think you lost/had to redo your last level. I'm still pretty new myself, so don't quote me on the exact rule and I was never in this situation, but from working manifest this is what I saw with some students.
  2. Hi Dan! I am a fellow noob, and just got my A license in October, I started jumping at the end of August. The AFF levels will really just depend mostly on A. how much money you have set aside to jump with, and B. how many jumps you do/how many tries it takes you to pass each level. I was fortunate and passed each level on my first jump and was able to do a lot of coaching jumps to work on my other skills. My 25th jump was my check dive and I start to finish got my license in just under two months (aff aug 27, check dive oct 22). I committed every weekend, rain or shine to the dropzone though and worked on anything i could when we weren't flying (packing, learning about gear, how it all works, ect.). I'm sad that our season just ended, but am counting the days til april first to get in the air again! Not that I am an expert by any means, but if you have any questions about my student experience, feel free to ask.
  3. LOL! first time on here posting and already getting set up, you guys know how to make a girl feel wanted!!!
  4. Male or female, it does work both ways with not wanting kids. I am a 29 y/o female who doesn't see myself ever having kids. I am just not a kid person. I am def the minority among my group of friends (mixed genders), but so be it. I have never had a date or potential relationship freak out on me about it, but I have had things end with guys before it got serious because it was an obvious deal breaker when it was brought up. You say you were getting to the point of possibly becoming exclusive, but you thought it was too soon to have the kid card brought up. What/when would you have considered it a better time? I mean, i know its def not first date material or anything, but when should what you both want on that front be brought up for discussion?
  5. Congrats on your coveted A license! I just got mine as well. I even got my official USPA membership card yesterday, woohoo! I was a late starter. I did my first tandem August 13, came back for AFF August 27th and got my 25th jump/checkdive done on October 22. It was intense, but I am so glad that I was able to pound thru them before we closed for the season. I finished my first season with 32 skydives, 1 off landing (which i already paid my beer for), and on my last skydive of the season a reserve ride (which i still owe on). It has been an amazing beginning and I cannot wait until we open again in April to continue on with my new love! Congrats again, and hopefully many blue skies in your future!
