  1. ROFL - Ever since we migrated from NT to 2000 my PC will shut down on it's own free-will & restart! Oh, and did I mention that it's annoying as hell!!! LOL "Pammi's Hemp/Skydiving Jewelry"
  2. ROFL - well, I obviously didn't mean the reserve had 650 rides.... more like 1 (and it wasn't me). AggieDave has seen my rig & canopy so he can probably attest that it's in really good shape.... I just know that when I was looking for a rig for Pam & I that I wouldn't even consider one without a cypress & wondered how many other people do this. "Pammi's Hemp/Skydiving Jewelry"
  3. This question is for all you students out there, or anyone else with any experience in buying/selling used gear. I'm probably going to buy a new rig sometime in 2002' so I'll be needing to sell my old rig. I'll probably keep my Cypress when I do, so my question is, how easy/hard do you think it would be to sell a complete rig minus the cypress? Oh, and if it helps my rig is a 96' Javelin J4, 96' Sabre 190, and a PD176R (all with about 650 jumps). Thanks guys! "Pammi's Hemp/Skydiving Jewelry"
  4. It stands for Star Crest Recipient. It's a commemorative dive of the first completed eight-way star in memory of Bob Bouquor (sp?) who drown in the ocean trying to save his camera equipment. It basically means that you are the base & at least 7 other people fly to you & build a star. Chicagoskydiver printed out the ceremony & history sheets on it, he can probably explain it better than I can. Then there's also an SCS "Star Crest Soloist" where you do the same formation but you fly in at least 8th or later. "Pammi's Hemp/Skydiving Jewelry"
  5. yeah, & pulling at 2500ft 2 miles out didn't help much either! Bwahahaha "Pammi's Hemp/Skydiving Jewelry"
  6. Hmmm... don't know what to tell ya, I'm certainly not an expert at this, they're just simply MPEGS, so they're not in different formats. I can view both of them just fine.... Keep in mind that Tripod's kinda fucked up too.... we're probably going to be looking into a more dedicated server. I also use Windows media player as my default, so it could just be the player... Hell, I don't know, but am open to any suggestions! "Pammi's Hemp/Skydiving Jewelry"
  7. I've got an idea, lets have a bounce contest.... We'll both set up on final appraoch (you under your vengence @ 1.4 & me under my sabre @ 1.2), do a 180 hook at about 100ft, & whoever lives wins... bet I win!

ROFL - You know, the dumbest question I think I've ever heard is "Why not?" Generally people's response when I tell them I don't drink.... In fact, I believe I heard that from you as well Slappie! Don't sweat it man, you'll probably be back in the air in a month or maybe even less. I've had several friends break their collar bone & as long as you do what the doctor tells you to, they tend to heal very fast! As far as things you can do with one hand to keep you occupied for a month.... well, there are several things you can do with one hand, I'm sure you'll figure something out! lol "Pammi's Hemp/Skydiving Jewelry"
  9. Yeah, I think Lisa pretty much has it nailed down to what's required, but another thing to consider is, getting out of a c-182 at the DZ is a hell of a lot different than getting out of one owned by a private pilot. First, I doubt you'll find a pilot that's willing to take it off on the ground & leave it off, so you're stuck with a door that doesn't swing up, it opens forward (like a normal door) toward the prop-blast.... as if that isn't enough, there also aren't many pilots that are comfortable with cutting back the speed to a near stall, in fact it scares the hell out of them. Pam & I unfortunately had an opportunity to jump with a new "jump pilot" once (the only other load he'd flown was the one right before ours). He didn't give a cut at all, and had it been a non-jum c-182, we'd have never gotten the door open & out of the way long enough to jump out. LOL - it was definitely an experience. 10. Hey, is that Bob Clark in that pic (Back row, Tall w/a beard)? Sure looks like him (but looks like he's gained some weight). If it is, That guy is absolutely badass, Pam & I have made a few jumps with him & he flies just as good or better with that one leg than anyone I've ever seen.... and he's a Hell of a nice guy too. "Pammi's Hemp/Skydiving Jewelry"
  11. Yeah, that's absolutely unacceptable... It seems there is always someone watching at all the DZ's I've been to. I've been fortunate to land off only once so far & that was last weekend at spaceland. We were visiting jumpers & three of us landed off, I landed up by the road (about a mile 1/2 from the DZ), & Pam & Hackey landed way out in the next field over. Before I even had my canopy daisy-chained someone from the DZ was there to get me, and it wasn't anyone with our group either. I was very impressed, and I wouldn't expect any less from anywhere else! Glad that you're OK Lew.
  12. Hey guys, I finally got sick of waiting on someone else to transfer the videos to DV format so you guys could see them. I'm sorry for the shitty quality, but this was dubbed to VHS, then copied to DV, then uploaded & I only have a 4mb stick in my camera so it was hard to get everything (& couldn't record more than 15 seconds of video in the larger format, so you'll just have to deal with the smaller ). Anyway, the first vid is of Pam's SCR & the second is the record jump. I promise I got most of the record jump, it quits about a 1/2 second before breakoff. Note about 55 seconds into the video where I try my hardest to take everyone out!

    hey merrick

Bwahahaha!!! STFU Biatch!!! Actually, was wearing sunglasses & you can see the horizon reflecting in them... I USED to think it was a pretty cool pic, but turns out that I look like a chic! lol Ahhh Well.
  14. Bwahahah!! FUCKER!! (that's "FUCKER," not fuck-her! lol) "Pammi's Hemp/Skydiving Jewelry"
  15. Just a thought... If you happen to have any home owners or renters insurance, since the car was parked at your home, this may actually cover it. It's worth a shot anyway. And, I agree... worst case would have been you in the vehicle, or you catching the bastards with the .45 in your hand. "Pammi's Hemp/Skydiving Jewelry"
  16. Yeah, you do have to take the tests now due to the recent revisions to the sims. As for..... *snicker* Nuh Uhhh.... Pam & I have both done night jumps & still just have our "A" license (although we're damn near qualified for our "C" - Still gotta get that live water training for the "B."). 17. STFU!!! Hell, as long as I get to have sex with Pam, I'll be a lesbian! "Pammi's Hemp/Skydiving Jewelry"
  18. LOL - Yeah Phree, it's amazing what I can remember, & rediculous to a fault what I can forget (just ask Pam lol). I did a little searching & the only thing that I've been able to find is that if you don't have some certain options set it will install automatically without your permission anytime you visit a webpage that hosts it. Also, found a short article that suggests that it's some sort of site tracker. It suggests that it looks for registration #'s, ssn's, credit card #'s, and so forth for some 60,000 different sites (sorry, didn't copy the url). Oh btw:
  19. I don't know if this is myth or what, but these comet cursors were big about a year or so ago & I was told that they have some type of virus embedded in them. Not sure what kind, or if it's even true, just passing on info. "Pammi's Hemp/Skydiving Jewelry"
  20. NOOOO!!! Please, no photographic evidence of me going low & almost taking everyone out! LOL Actually, I think we're just waiting on getting it put into a DV format, then I'm sure somebody will post it. "Pammi's Hemp/Skydiving Jewelry"
  21. LOL - Well, I got sick of looking so I forgot about it this month, but you can probably add Pam & I to that list too... A-38461 & A-38462.
  22. Man, all I can say is just keep trying. People think that Sept 11th has everything to do with the state our economy is in (job market & so forth), but to tell you the truth, the market completely sucked ass before all this happened. Yeah, the terrorists had some impact, but car manufacturers & other lenders started drastically cutting their interest rates to try to get people to buy long before Sept 11th. I've been looking for another job in a similar field as you since the end of July. Granted, I refined my search to one specific area for a few months, but have since refined that option & am STILL looking. There are others on this forum as well who will soon be looking for employment because of layoffs & such... Good luck to you all. Malachi, I don't know what school you're attending, but you need to find out if there is a "career services" department to help with placement of graduates or interns. That's the BEST advice I can give. I graduated from Oklahoma State & they're placement dept is incredible, I had several interviews in just a short time & several options when it was all said & done (granted, the market was a lot better then, but it still couldn't hurt now). Again, good luck to ya, and don't try to do it alone, you'd be surprised what might still be out there if you have another set of eyes looking for you. "Pammi's Hemp/Skydiving Jewelry"
  23. Excellent Nelson!! Can't wait to hear stories of your first jumps back! Good luck & Godspeed on the PT. "Pammi's Hemp/Skydiving Jewelry"
  24. Bwahahaha!! Not so good at Incorporating all relevent pieces of the story there is she? LOL - she gets that from her daughter! Last night we watched the video of the dz.com dive from this weekend at Spaceland... Josh (video guy) dubbed a pretty cool song onto it, & we were wondering what it was, that's all!
