I think you're asking if the photos are fake. Go to the Colonel Waite's daughters website for all the photos you can handle. Below is the link. I don't think the Colonel would have ever shared these photos taken by him for the whole world to see. But after he died his daughter put them on the web in 2008. Please go through the pictures.

Welcome to the thread Pat. You bring something new and intriguing to the sandbox which is kinda neat.

OK, I’ll have to betray a slight tingle going up my spine when I opened the Colonel’s photo. He may hold some slight resemblance to the FBI composite sketch but the light may be distorting him or making him look taller since he is not in an aircraft. But then what do I know?

Then I feared I would be the first one to begin the filtration process which has been long established on this thread. Of course we all (code for just me) want to know about the Colonel’s arms. Were they all hairy and not DB Cooperish or did they resemble some of the arms on the attached graphic?

Take your time and remember there is no wrong answer nor is there only one, so pick as many as you wish.

I know smokin99 will back me up on the hairy arms details and the left handed tie clasp. Smokin99, I said – back – me –up. Because if two of us say this; it becomes truer.

Whatever his Hunkiness says, I got his back. And that's a fact, Jack :)

Colonel Waite's daughter has thousands of photos at her SMUGHUB site. I have spent the last 3 days going through them trying to find one that would put him in Portland in '71 but could not. But I also could not put him anywhere else at that time. From the time he came home from Vietnam in late '68 until about '72 I don't see anything. It looks like in '72 he went back to Europe for an extended stay? Salem Oregon looks to have been his home when he died.

I don’t think your photos are fake at all Pat. Looks very genuine.

Reading past comments on this thread, you will notice that ‘suspects’ are discounted if they have ‘hairy arms’ for some weird and freaky reason. I say this because I’ve not seen a description of Cooper’s bare arms yet.

Quite the opposite from me, I think your photo is spooky similar to the Cooper composite. In fact, closer than any I’ve seen this far.

Keep at this and you will quickly discover what I’m talking about. Just look at how smokin99 ‘backed me up’ when I needed it most. She’s righteous and a hunkette with an uncanny ability to spot the trees through the forest while the rest of us (excluding Robert99 and Vicki also) try to figure how may Bigfoots can hide in a Roswell saucer.

Let me add a couple of things about me. I'm an absolute nobody from Omaha Nebraska. I've never been in the military or worked for any government. I have had an interest in the Cooper case for a long time, and the other night at work came across Bruce Smith's Mountain News website. I've exchanged some emails with Bruce and he told me about this forum.

Pat71, You are a breath of fresh air to this thread. And you will probably discover all to soon how desperately we need fresh air here.

Farflung, I guess that I have to ask the question, whether I believe the answer or not, just to satisfy my morbid curiosity. So how many Bigfoots can hide in a Roswell saucer?

so he was active duty during the hijacking? did he
have family or friends in the area of Portland ...
that you know of?

I realise at this early stage you may not have
answers.

But, if I understand your process to date, you were
randomly looking through photos when you came
across this guy? Maybe I missed something?

welcome to the thread.

You’re right Vicki that was indelicate of me to leave you off the ‘hunkette’ roster. But in my own defense, I felt that you and smokin99 represented such peerless ’hunketteness’ that it was universally understood as…. Self evident.

Kinda like a gathering with a Minnesotan Governor (0:53-0:55), a little Meatloaf (1:06- 1:09) and some unbridled hunkyness (1:51-1:54).

I agree with Robert99. Glad you joined and shared the photos. His pictures are great.
Just wondering...have you shared your thoughts with his daughter, and if so, what was her reaction?

:)Fresh Air - not sure about that. What does she really know about this man - has she spoke to his family and what would they say about this? Would they call it exploitation?

Pat why don't you ask the daughter to come to the thread and tell if SHE thinks her father was Cooper and is her mother still alive? We have seen this before where family members have been put thru a wringer. Rather than Exploit Colonel Cooper on the thread - ask a family member what they think and if they know where he was in 1971.

In the mean time I came here to take us a little off subject. I didn't realize when I decided to share this email today that it would be so appropriate for the current circumstances - but, it fits.

Now this is very very out of forum for me and it is NOT my work and I do not know who originally posted this on Face Book. I do not go to Face Book this was shared with me this morning.

It is long but, it is hilarious!

I went to Home Depot

I went to Home Depot recently while not being altogether sure that course of action was a wise one. You see, the previous evening I had prepared and consumed a massive quantity of my patented "you're definitely going to crap yourself" road-kill chili. Tasty stuff, although hot to the point of being painful, which comes with a written guarantee from me that if you eat it, the next day both of your butt cheeks WILL fall off...

Here's the thing. I had awakened that morning, and even after two cups of coffee (and all of you know what I mean) nothing happened. Despite the chillies swimming their way through my intestinal tract, I was unable to create the usual morning symphony referred to by my dear wife as "thunder and lightning".

Knowing that a time of reckoning HAD to come, yet not sure of just when, I bravely set off for Home Depot, my quest being paint and supplies to refinish the deck. Upon entering the store at first all seemed normal. I selected a cart and began pushing it about, dropping items in for purchase. It wasn't until I was at the opposite end of the store from the toilets that the pain hit me.

Oh, don't look at me like you don't know what I'm talking about. I'm referring to that, "Uh oh! Crap, gotta go!" pain that always seems to hit us at the wrong time. The thing is, this pain was different. The chillies from the night before were staging a revolt. In a mad rush for freedom they bullied their way through the small intestines, forcing their way into the large intestines, and before I could take one step in the direction of the toilets which would bring sweet relief, it happened. The chillies fired a warning shot.

There I stood, alone in the paint and stain section, suddenly enveloped in a toxic cloud the likes of which has never before been recorded. I was afraid to move for fear that more of this vile odor might escape me. Slowly, oh so slowly, the pressure seemed to leave the lower part of my body, and I began to move up the aisle and out of it, just as a red aproned clerk turned the corner and asked if I needed any help.

I don't know what made me do it, but I stopped to see what his reaction would be to the toxic non-visible fog that refused to dissipate. Have you ever been torn in two different directions emotionally? Here's what I mean, and I'm sure some of you at least will be able to relate. I could've warned that poor clerk, but didn't. I simply watched as he walked into an invisible, and apparently indestructible, wall of odor so terrible that all he could do before gathering his senses and running, was to stand there blinking and waving his arms about his head as though trying to ward off angry bees. This, of course, made me feel terrible, but then made me laugh......... BIG mistake!!!!!

Here's the thing. When you laugh, it's hard to keep things "clamped down", if you know what I mean. With each new guffaw an explosive issue burst forth from my nether region. Some were so loud and echoing that I was later told a few folks in other aisles had ducked, fearing that someone was robbing the store and firing off a shotgun. Suddenly things were no longer funny... "It" was coming, and I raced off through the store towards the toilet, laying down a cloud the whole way, praying that I'd make it before the grand explosion took place.

Luck was on my side. Just in the nick of time I got to the john, began the inevitable "Oh my God", floating above the toilet seat because my ass is burning SO BAD, purging. One poor fellow walked in while I was in the middle of what is the true meaning of "Shock and Awe". He made a gagging sound, and disgustedly said, "Son-of-a-b?#%&! Did it smell that bad when you ate it?", then quickly left.

Once finished, I left the restroom, reacquired my partially filled cart intending to carry on with my shopping when a store employee approached me and said, "Sir, you might want to step outside for a few minutes. It appears some prankster set off a stink bomb in the store. The manager is going to run the vent fans on high for a minute or two which ought to take care of the problem."

My smirking, of course, set me off again, causing residual gases to escape me. The employee took one sniff, jumped back pulling his shirt up to cover his nose and, pointing at me in an accusing manner shouted, "IT'S YOU!!!", then ran off returning moments later with the manager. I was unceremoniously escorted from the premises and asked none too kindly not to return.

Home again without my supplies, I realized that there was nothing to eat but leftover chili, so I consumed two more bowls. The next day I went to shop at Lowes. I can't say any more about that because we are in court over the whole matter. Bastards claim they're going to have to repaint the store.

Stolen from Thad who stole it elsewhere!

Like I said this is very out of character for me, but I thought about what goes on here and all of the skyjumpers here who love a good story - enjoy.

P.S. I did not plan this - it just happened and this was the only thing I had to post tonight.

LOL....Yep, 1:51 - 1:54 was off the Hunky meter. I do believe he was smelling his arm pits to the beat. I'm so impressed. Love those B52's, too.

Colonel Waite retired in 1992, there was a ceremony held for him at in San Francisco at the Presidio. So yes, he was on active duty in 1971.
He lived as a boy in Villard, Minnesota. A very small town 2 hours west of Minneapolis. He graduated from high School in Albany, Oregon. Albany is just south of Salem and about an hours drive to Portland. Don't know where he went to college. It appears that Salem Oregon was his families home base while he was overseas. As I said he is buried in Portland.
As I said, I randomly came across the South Viet officers photos on Flickr and that eventually lead me to the Colonel.

In all honesty, I couldn't call someone like that. It's just the way I am, I couldn't get through a conversation like that. I contacted Bruce Smith because he looked like someone in the know, and would be able to tell me if the Colonel had already been vetted and this was old news. I came here in hopes that others would look through the photos and tell me what they think. I was surprised that Bruce said he'd never heard of this gentleman before. In my opinion the pictures look very much like the drawings, and all the physical descriptions match perfectly.

[:/]Do you seriously think a career military and active military could or would have participated in a skyjacking? Where they training coverts at Ft. Bragg in 1969?

Now this might be what 99 is referencing as HOT air, but when you present a subject like this one you have to be prepared for question and be ready for answers.
