While the conversation is ongoing its hard to concentrate on what exactly he was saying. Because after the explanation for one conspiracy. I'd begin to think "wow is this guy ever wacked out", "how can anyone believe something so impossible", then "I got things to do today, I've got to get the hell outa here".

The reason that people like you will fail - miserably - is that it's no longer an academic pursuit.  People can look out their windows and see the wildfires.  People can look at the funeral homes and see the dead.  People can look at their homes and see the flooding.
