Looks like there is now actually an identifiable risk that we are exposed to - caused by the government shutdown. Note that all ""known or suspected terrorists" we stopped in 2017 were at legal ports of entry, mostly airports.

I assume the much-touted Clear Skies program was part of stopping such people, but since the TSA doesn't report on the effectiveness of the program (apparently for security reasons) I don't know how many terrorists it discovered.

You do know that the U.S. patrols 5,000+ miles of the Canadian border to assist in preventing Illegal Immigration into Canada from the US? Whereas, Mexico does not patrol its northern border. And, they are doing a better job of keeping illegal aliens from Mexico to Canada to US than your border agents. I find it interesting that those illegal aliens choose not to stay in your country; but still look to come here. Oh Canada!!!

Should also note than more than 7,000 crossed the border illegally from the US into Canada in 2018, which would mean the net illegal migration is in the US' favour.
