You're actually a programmed, insidiously sophisticated software bot, aren't you? That must be the explanation.

where has HairyJuanBot been lately? I though he retitled to DreamDancer, but that wasn't it.

But-back to the gist. Where the fuck does Barney get his ideas? Can anyone truly be that disconnected from reality? Maybe he needs to work a family farm-or maybe just work for a bit.

"But this is my car."
"Your parents bought it for you. You didn't do anything to deserve it. So I'm taking it."

Same thing. Nothing more than street punk poverty pimps.

Historically, estate/inheritance taxes in the US were imposed temporarily to fund wars, then repealed when peacetime resumed. That changed after WWI, when instead, specifically in 1924, Congress passed, and the President signed into law, an increase in estate tax rates and imposed a gift tax. When that was done, the majorities of both houses of Congress were Republican, and the President was Republican Calvin Coolidge.

So who do you have to thank for modern estate and inheritance taxes in the US? It's the goddam pinko, socialist, wealth-re-distributing Republicans.

He's totally wrong though.

Taxing someone an additional $7500 or any amount changes their spending habits as they have that much less to spend on investments, services, and/or goods.

Whether the $$$ is better served for all by the gov't using it, is another story.

Enough rich bashing. If the entirety of their focus is simply "the rich don't need it" and they can't or won't explain how they'll use the money to reduce our debt, then they shouldn't get it.
Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting
If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.

You mean the same group of republicans that fought for woman's suffrage? Gawd damn them, gawd damn them all to hell.

I'm not sure how to explain it. He is the Charles Rangel of his district. No matter what he does, they will re-elect him. They believe everything that comes out of his mouth. It's what happens when you have a district full of sheeple.

Yep. Back then, hating the rich was big time politics! And back then, Republicans were no lesser tools than they are now. It's an example of how nothing changes.

It was pinko, socialist and wealth redistributing. Anything for a vote.

Enough rich bashing.

+1

And speaking as one of Obama's hypothetical rich people, I will shelter my estate with A/B trusts to avoid probate taxes. Most rich people are pretty smart about avoiding taxes, and this one is relatively easy to avoid with proper planning. I guess they are going after the stupid rich.
For the same reason I jump off a perfectly good diving board.

Ahh, you're engaging in revisionist history. In 1924, the rich were never more popular in the US to those who get the politicians elected, as well as to the expanding middle class. The war "over there" was over, it was the Roaring 20's, the nation was prosperous (so prosperous that it acted as Europe's post-WWI banker), the Dems were swept out of power with Harding's (R) election in 1920, then Coolidge (R) succeeded him in 1923 and was elected in 1924; and eventually Hoover (R) was to be elected in 1928. The power-brokers in the US in 1924 were corporate magnates of Big Business, and the stock market was exploding with wealth. "Hating the rich" had precious little political currency in 1924; indeed, it would continue to have scant political currency until the the piper was finally paid when the Great Depression hit in 1929. Had the prosperity continued a few years longer, Hoover might very well have been re-elected in 1932.

If a person earns money, and saves it, they have the
right to give it to anyone they want.

However, BF believes you do not have that right because
those people have not earned it.

He and I disagree. I don't care if my kids did not earn
my money, I did.

BF believes that only he can determine what is right,
or who has rights.
