okay, but how many of you are from Ca?

makes a slight difference...

Hate to say it but I probably would. Although I think this is nothing but a giant circus and shouldn't be happening (at least THIS way). The idea that someone could be governor with 15-20% of the votes is ridiculous.

I second what squirrel says. You really cannot do worse than what we have. An outsider (even though he's an insider) is what is needed here.

Ahnold can clean house. We all expect him to.

I'll vote for him.

Edited to add: I may still write in Sebazz!!!

I would. Some people are winner's and some are loser's; this is true even of the politicians in this country.

Regardless of the fact that he started out in bodybuilding, was mister olympia at age 19, has topped the box office a record number of times, or has married into one of the most prestigious families in the country, does so many things for young children, etc........

All of this tells me things about Arnold, the dude! He is a GIVER, not a taker. He is a winner in everything that he does.

not from cali. but would vote for arnie if he were running here. as long as he stays away from his stupid quotes. we have all seen the movies, now show us reality. real people don't quote themselves.
:)

I may disagree with what you have to say, but I shall defend to the death your right to say it.

Would you vote for Arnold Schwarzenegger?

I didn't see the option for HELL YES!!! and if they changed the law so he could run for president, I would vote for him for president as well. (In 2008 after W. has served out his second term ofcourse.)

I know many things about the state of California. I have often thought there is no hope for it. So much that I have found myself agreeing with people that say the only solution is for that land mass to separate and flow out to sea. But now I actually see hope for California because of Arnold.

The special interest groups are a big problem here in California. Gray Davis is probably the biggest benificiary. As Arnold said in his news conference, that has to stop, and he's the one to do it since he doesn't need the money.

He hasn't said a whole lot yet, but what he's said so far is good.

Not only "no", but "hell, fucking no". I am NOT in favor of putting someone into office simply because of name recognition. Arnold would be a total and complete fucking waste of time.

How about putting somebody into office that has some experience -- any experience -- in government. Somebody that -may- have a clue as to how things are done?

Let's put it this way -- to date, -I- have as much experience as Arnold and I'm pretty damn sure a lot of folks wouldn't want -me- in office.

Why the fuck would people put Arnold into office?

Feinstein would have been good on the Dem side. Reardon would have been good on the Rep side.

Arnold is just stupid.

Or did you wanna know how I REALLY feel?

maybe I should clarify what I meant. I'm digusted with the whole process. Everyone and their mother is running for Governor, hell, I even gave it a thought. We have Porn stars and porn producers running, actors, bad child actors, comedians, crummy politicians all running for Governor. One of these 300 jokers is gonna win and it's not going to be cause the MAJORITY of the people want him as governor. The rest of the country thinks we are a laughing stock, the financial community thinks it's a joke n will probably lower our bond ratings meaning more money paid on the loans we took out.

no, it can't be worse... Chaos can never get worse...

On side note, what ever happened with that one law suit that seperated the recall vote from a replacement governor vote? Gosh, I hope at least that passes, to think that you can only vote for a new governor if want the old one recalled just reinforces the belief that this is crazy

Do you have a reason to believe that he WONT do a good job besides that you see no reason why he would?

Personally, I think we need more politicians that are not politicians.

Arnold is a stong focused man. Came to the USA as an immigrant and built himself a huge career.
I respect him, not because of his Mr. O titles or his films, but because of what it takes to get to the top when you are an outsider. He has it, most people dont and never will.

A lot of things he may be, but stupid isnt on the list.
I'm not sure what you base this comment on.
Do you KNOW him personally?

Let me rephrase and clarify that then -- Arnold is a stupid choice for Govenor of the State of California.

What the state of California needs is not simply an outsider -- but rather a politician (yes, that's a requirement of the job) that knows economic issues.

While Arnold -may- have been very savvy when it came to things like the size of his motor home on the movie set, it was his AGENTS that got him the big bucks. I seriously doubt that Arnold has been too involved in his actual business dealing since the early 1980s.

On the other hand, Reardon was a pretty damn good Mayor of L.A.

Arnold just -screwed- the entire State of California by deciding to run rather than simply endorcing somebody that would have been FAR more effective.

Does that make sense now?

Look at Reagan. He was just an actor and he went on to become the best President of all times after running for Governer of none other than California. He won the cold war for peat sakes.
I know liberals are hard at work trying to rewrite history so that they can fool youngsters into thinking Reagan was not the best president of all time. But I think your old enough to know better.

Umm Arnold is a politician. Has been for years. His family and his inlaws are all politicians. His influence is enormous, and he is well respected. What more can you ask for?

Name recgonition is what gets politicians elected, the majority of voters dont understand (or even know) the real issues being discussed in the first place, they simply pick the name their party (or social group) tells them they should..

i'm getting a hell of a laugh at all the talk show/radio idiots spewing 'meat head' comments.. the majority of them dont speak a single language well, much less the 5 that Ahhhrnold is fluent (despite his easily ridiculed accent) in.

no, number of languages spoken is not a great indicator of intellect or rational political abilities, however I think he'll do a far better job of 'common sense' thinking and legislation than any politically raised and groomed professional politician.. if we are going to chose between millionaires for 'leadership' i'd rather chose from the few who werent born into the profession, and never really worked to earn anything....

Yes : NO : Definately

Yes I would vote for him
No, I don't live in Cali
Definately would bring more to the table than just promises.
One thing is sure...he doesn't need the money.

Yes. Although I still disagree. B|

Not because I think you are wrong. Only because I think you cant honestly know if he would do well or not.

I dont pretend to know anything about Reardon so I cant say one way or the other. You may well be right
and I'm not saying otherwise.

My reasons for respecting Arnold have nothing to do with his big bucks or the size of his trailer. Its about what it took to get him to the point where he was in line for those bucks.

Winning Mr. Olympia 6 times takes drive, focus, and dedication. Its not just about muscle and who can lift the most. It takes an amount of self discipline that most of us will never have. As a bodybuilder myself I have a small inkling of this. Not enough to compete but enough to know how much more it would take to get to the top.

Most "politicians" know more about self indulgance than self discipline.

I dont think he screwed anyone. I think he wants to give it a shot. Maybe he will do well. Maybe he will suck.
We have all seen plenty of people that suck so if he turns out that way, oh well.

I'm old enough to know that Reagan was a puppet for GE -- at least in his early political career. It's difficult to know how much influence they had in the later years, but, um, they didn't lose a lot of military contracts under his Administration either.

Reagan also had far more experience at politics when he was elected Govenor of California than Arnold currently does.

Why not? And heck, why stop there? Leslie Nielsen as FAA administrator! Wesley Snipes as USPA president! They've got the name recognition, and they are rich enough that they won't be swayed by outside interests. They would be ideal!

The president who funded Al Qaeda and gave us the Contra scandal and John Poindexter. If those are pluses in your book, I suppose he's right up there with Nixon as one of our best.

ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thats the funniest thing I've heard all day. The fact that you believe that an old alzheimer stricken man actually knew what he was doing is cracking me up.

maybe the greatest puppet ever might be a better title.

I have to go get paper towels so I can clean up the ginger ale I spewed all over the place after reading that
