jimmytavino 16 #7 April 20, 2009 absolutely...i like to read the date. also pick up any other kind of coin.. . . . edited to add this story... about a true occurence..... the airport where i enjoyed my first jump, is a paved runway about 25 miles from where i live. there was only jumping there, for 2 or 3 years and during the year of 1972,,, i had my first jump there..it was 9- 16 - 72anyway on the anniversary date of my jump # One,,, about 5 or 6 years ago,,,,, my work had me out that way, so i drove over there to watch a few airplanes, see what was going on, and reminisce about past adventures... i pulled in the parking lot, went waaay over to the side where there were NO vehicles parked,,,, shut off the truck and jumped out... There at my feet,, was a copper penny,, not very shiny, but i could tell right away, that it was a penny.... So i Picked It Up..... turned it over in my hand , just as a plane began to rotate, off in the distance, noted the sound of the engine roaring.... i glanced at the windsock to note the direction of the breeze,,, smiled and then returned my attention to the penny. i flipped it over and the date could be seen,,, clear as a bell... Nineteen Seventy Two !!!... honest to God... hand to my heart..!!!!! A chill went through me,,, and i grinned the biggest grin ever....This on the anniversary date 31 or 32 years after the Year in which i first jumped, on that sept date,,, long ago...at that very location.... I thought about how easily i could have MISSED that bit of fate,, altogether!!! had i not parked " off on the edge".... i was glad that i had... good stuff... true story... jmy pick up pennies!!!
