Never broke any bones, got my finder pinched once, in the otter door in Z-hill, which resulted in terrible scar on my index finger. It has been my only extreme activities related injury. Oh, got my ego bruised couple of times ;)

That's it. I've been really lucky so far.

Never needed bone doc for all the years of Skydiving and BASE jumping.

Took up rock climbing and mountaineering and got a waiting room chair plaque with my name on it at the orthopoedic clinic. All the receptionists got to know me on sight. "Oh Hi Jon, Whadja do this time?"

I would be prouder not have any BASE related broken bones, like Yuri, but here's my short list:

Shattered femur into six pieces - nearly a compound fracture - nearly fatal - BASE jump and significantly eaten by fire ants afterwards. Consumed right arm.

Broken tailbone - BASE jumping, flight into tree trunk at high rate of speed, fell face first afterwards into a pile of large rocks

Broken nose - fighting, not sure which fight

Broken ball off inner ankle -- jumping tall fence for BASE jumping

Sliced arm -- razor wire on fence

Well, that's eerie... I'm a month into recovering from nearly identical injuries...

scapula, 2 vertebrae, 5 ribs, tailbone, and two collapsed lungs (BASE)

Heel (BASE -- launched hard on a low exit point)

Ankle (skydiving -- dropped toggle)

Wrist (basketball)

Edit to add: Okay, I gotta ask... Which vertebrae? I burst fractured T5/T6.

i can't believe the dorkzone base forum has come to this............comparing injuries (BASE related or not)on the internet! why the fuck aren't ya'll out jumping instead of spreading non-informitive info. over a stupid internt forum??? what significance does this have to anyone? SHIT!!! we all know stupidity causes most injuries/fatalities so why don't people use this fourm as as means to educate the newbies? comparing what injuries you 've had and don't have, doesn't do shit for anyone.

I would guess a fair number of us who post here work in offices and like to kill time by doing something besides listening to overweight co-workers talking about their kids and their favorite TV shows....it sure is part of the reason why I come here.

well here goes i only did 7 base jumps last year but on my last sky dive 08/01/06 impacted ground while swooping and broke pelvis in half broke sacrum with a 5" break and 8" break, also broke both feet , and punctured fphemeral artery at which point i bled from the artery for 2hrs before bleeding was stoped. imagine that all cause of hooking it to low
one note night before me and my mentor opened up a 437' free stander i was off first held for 2 sec using a 48" pc hand held was very nice although i didnt care for my lines being out of the metal loops. was really wierd trying to flare lol dont miss skydiving but do miss base probably always will
