Now that's funny. I don't care who you are.

As best I can remember, "The show you are about to see is real. No tricks, no illusions. The only thing that stands between the jumper and death is RIPCORD!" On my 3rd freefall, a 30second delay,(an unorthadox progression) I was laying there holding a heading and my instructor came down and stopped 1 foot above and 15 feet away. I could see the horizon under him and I remember thinking, "This is just like Ripcord." Ever since I could walk, my favorite thing was to jump off a height into a pile of loose dirt. The higher the better. In jr. high school it was trampoline and springboard diving. My last year in the army I was stationed at Ft. Jackson, SC and a guy in the same unit was going up to the Charlotte skydivers on the weekends. I went with him one time and wanted to try it. Little did I know that it RUIN MY LIFE. I didn't finish college, I had a lot more jobs than most people do. Nothing could get in the way of jumping. But I've had one hell of a good time and I would do things not much differently again. With the couple of students who "froze" on the step, I applied my foot to their hip and moved their cg out till they "decided" to go. With AFF, during the "up, down, ..." some gentle pressure out will move the cg without them knowing and them it's only a few inches to freefall so never a problem there. When I was a young jumper, I incountered a gravity wave as I approached the formation. BOOM! There I was 10 ft. low. Had to be a gravity wave, right? OK, yeah. That would do it unless he's the guy that seems to sit next to me on most flights. Most of the things worth doing in the world had been declared impossilbe before they were done. Louis D Brandeis Where are we going and why are we in this basket?

I thought that the cabin pressure was about 7,500 ft. If the plane was at 14,000, was that pressure differential enough to suck someone out? This is the day for this. Two idiots were discussing holidays. One said, "Easter is Jesus birthday. That's when we put up a tree and put presents around it." The other said, "No! You're the reason idiots have a bad reputation. You're talking about Christmas. Easter is when they Jesus up on the cross and he died for all of our sins. Then they put him in a grave. And three days later he came out and saw his shadow and went back inside for six more weeks of cold weather." I'm really sorry for your lose. I know that's a tough thing to do. I just recently discovered that animals can have what we consider "human" medical problems. Our dog, an Akita, (sp?) has epilepsy. It scared the shit out of my wife when he had his first sizure. She thought for sure it was rabies. So now he gets a phenobarbitol morning and evening. He seems to be getting used to this dosage so the script needs to be increased. I'm not religious at all but what I'm doing would be considered prayer. The unconditional love we get from our non human family members is worth all the lengths we go to to keep them healthy. What makes you think it's god in the picture? Satan will appear in pleasing forms. Anomalies in the atmosphere. I would say we need a few more clues to say that it's god. However, Switzerland may be a place he would show up. They haven't declared war on anyone in a really long time. Yeah, what you said! I've had that thought for a long time. And let's not confuse support for the troops as support for the war. Or opposition to the war as opposition to the troops. I think most of that stuff comes from the Old Testament. The Quoran was written about 620AD. Times didn't change very fast back then. The polls are one thing but the voting is the only poll that really counts. Only a little over half of the registered voters actually vote. The crazies seem more motivated to turn out than everyone else. So it's possible to win an election with just 30% of the registered voters. (60% OF 50%) I wish there was a way to make voting more important to the average person. Most of the things worth doing in the world had been declared impossilbe before they were done. Or more bluntly, the guy who runs the company is the guy who runs the company. He does so for his own interests not yours. I notice you called the company a non-profit. Non-profit has an altruistic connotation, but it makes no difference really, the guys at the top are still running it for their own benefit, take home a paycheck, and will maneuver to ensure they continue to do so. I realize this all might sound cynical, but it's just reality. We're all just cogs in a machine. "Mongo just pawn in game of life." I can work hard and accomplish Part 1. I've already done Part 3. I know about Parts 4 & 5. It's Part 2 that I'm having trouble with. 5 or 6 hundred jumps on a PC, 100 on a Piglet I, 4 or 5 hundred on a Starlite. Never had much trouble standing them up. My low pack volume experiment with a 26' Navy conical on the other hand... It had a pulled down apex, turn slots, and a triple dog house mod. It had all the drive of a wind drift indicator but came down faster. I told all my students that the PLF was one of the most important things they would learn that day. Their emergency procedures would change as they got new and different gear but the PLF they learned that day would be the same PLF that would save their ass (and ankles, legs, and hips) a thousand jumps later.
