  10. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one with this problem. Ever since I was little I always had the urge to just jump from whatever height I was at. Even now I hate to get close to the egde for fear that I may jump. It's almost uncontrollable until the rig is on. Then, with the rig on, it's all good. Running exits

Pace out your steps, keep your head up, eyes focused on a focal point just like a poised exit and launch on the last step. At least that's the way I do it. "Admit nothing, deny everything, and demand proof"
  12. Actually nobody in the hood would mess with a crazy white dude who just jumped off of a building. I think you would be OK. "Admit nothing, deny everything, and demand proof"
  13. I love the jump from Four Horseman, the hike to Tombstone and the drive to Mineral Bottom. "Admit nothing, deny everything, and demand proof"
  14. No clamps here. Just two pull up cords. "Admit nothing, deny everything, and demand proof"
  15. That did it. Thanks. "Admit nothing, deny everything, and demand proof"
  16. I'm having trouble hooking up a microphone and getting sound in conjunction with the board camera I am using. Any info would be helpful. "Admit nothing, deny everything, and demand proof"
  17. My motivation is standing on the edge and looking down, then overcoming all rational thoughts that say "this ain't right" and jump. This is the most peaceful feeling in the world to me. Of course prior to the jump all the risks are calculated and accounted for. I like the feeling of accomplishment. I like not letting fear get the best of me. Don't get me wrong, I still have the fear. Plenty of it. But it's what you do with the fear that matters. Pursue your dreams, always keep learning, and enjoy life to the fullest. BD Long Lines

It all depends on where you live, if you're willing to travel and what you want to jump. Here in the Pacific Northwest we have sites available nearby. You'll need to hook up with a mentor in your area. "Admit nothing, deny everything, and demand proof"
  19. I recently made a jump and used some buddies (non jumpers) for ground crew. I advised them of the possiblities and what to do in case of emergency. However, I don't believe they were ready emotionally for what could have happened. As it turned out I had a cliff strike. No serious injuries, but the sight and sound of me hitting the wall and the scream of pain, freaked them out. Later they told me they were not cut out for this and I also learned that I should not put them or anyone through that unless they completely understand the possible consequenses. I believe they were more shaken than I was. "Admit nothing, deny everything, and demand proof"
  20. Congrats. Wish I could have made it. "Admit nothing, deny everything, and demand proof"

    The cat flip

Definately agree with slider up. My first arial was a front flip. Needless to say, I overrotated and opened up head down slider off. Worst pain I ever felt in jumping. Luckily nothing is broken, however my back is still sore, a month later. I thought about trying the Cat flip too but was gun shy after the painful opening. Good luck. Let us know how it goes. 22. Jumped with Jaimie first of April. Good guy. Nice to see positive media about the sport. "Admit nothing, deny everything, and demand proof"

    New fashion :)))

The helmet saved my life on my first jump and I haven't jumped without it since. I clipped a tree under canopy and after landing the tree hit me back. Right on top of the head. Thank God my mentor insisted on the headwear. "Admit nothing, deny everything, and demand proof"
  24. A group of us stayed at the Red Lion last month. Bordering the pool was a perfect place to pack away from the wind. You can even tie the rig to the pool fence. Soft grass, too. "Admit nothing, deny everything, and demand proof"
