  1. My current theory is that 'Shah' is actually a collaborative performance of several mods and/or 'power users' of dz.com to the purpose of their own entertainment, also mine so I'm ok with it. Multiple writers would explain the inconsistency. :edited to edit and edit:
  2. Only the ones full of sissies that can't take the cold
  3. Good on ya Adam! I am sorry I missed seeing that, stupid life causing me to contract a case of lame.
  4. Another dead drunk driver.(edit, said he didn't take anyone with him, was wrong, anyone innocent is probably still true) I'd say it's a net win for the planet.
  5. Are you suggesting that skydive training be banned in places without access to a wind tunnel? If you want to make skydiving completely safe I guess it makes sense to try to stop people from jumping out of airplanes at all. That guy you mentioned, in the incident would have had better chances at keeping his healthy legs if he'd never jumped out of an aircraft in flight. Skydiving can hurt or kill you. Did anyone not have that drilled into their heads during their FJC?
  6. That's easy, I earn free jumps for life at this particular DZ by guiding it back to the airport for a three point landing. ... In this case three points are the point where the wings land, the point where the fuselage stops and the point where the engine ends up.
  7. The parachute school of toronto is open year round. Its about 45 mis north of toronto.
  8. A Skyvan is easy too. Face the front of the plane and take a big step backward and you'll be right into the relative wind.
  9. Ballistic deployment system! Someone else can do the test jumps.
  10. Bold now where I think the refund problem may originate(if there is one).
  11. Fleeing the scene of an accident doesn't exactly lend itself to the conclusion.
  12. Just asking out of curiosity, this thread just made me realize I know almost nothing about rounds. Boredom and general interest, don't have a specific chute in mind. Are steerable and non-steerable rounds packed differently? What about things that aren't quite round but aren't square, say like a paradactal for instance? Are packing methods specific to a make of canopy?
  13. In the event this wasn't an instructional film you posted a link to , I'm just going to throw this out to the crowd again because of curiosity, does any one have any material about how a round(main in my interest) is packed for us low timers?
  14. Why is it that when a chick says it it's sexy as hell, but when a guy says it he's just a geek? Boobs.
  15. He was using the CSPA rules, makes sense cause his profile says he's in Canada. From PIM 1 - BSRs General: 2.5 The minimum altitudes (AGL) at which the main parachute must be activated are: - 1220 metres (4000') for all tandem jumps - 760 metres (2500') for all Solo and A CoP holders - 670 metres (2200') for all other CoP holders [B, C, D] BSRs Students: 2.11 The students main parachute must be activated at a minimum altitude of 2800 feet AGL.
  16. I love being the only one getting out low on the doorless 206 at my home dz. I get to sit right in the door and look out. I do brace myself/hold on to something until just about 1000' (and above if i'm sticking my head out the door too). Only reason I can think of for this being the case is that I'm used to getting out low, came up a static line progression, and still often go for the low hop and pop. I'd second the idea of getting out on some low passes, the idea that you can get stable quick and pull might just help you.
  17. Good thing that's only opinion. I hope you're wrong, nothing personal. Either way I wish the best to both attempting this high altitude record.
  18. Really just to geek out here for a second. Hobbit style housing seems exceptionally appropriate in such areas. Mostly underground living makes one safe from softball sized hail.
  19. I wish I could have had one like yours, mine being only a half year ago makes it different.
  20. Staticlined out of a Cessna Caravan at 4500' on a low pass. Shit show of an arch, short lined so I didn't screw up much. Enjoyed the altitude and then landed under ground radio control. I didn't miss a weekend at the dropzone for months afterward, and then only if I had too.
