Well, I would have a different opinion depending on whether this is a physics or math instructor. Physics is supposed to model reality to some extent. well I agree with that although, it seems like this is a 100 level trig based physics class so making unrealistic assumptions is sometimes needed to prove points. Assuming a continuous rate of acceleration he would be running at 45mph by the end of the run... seems wrong because in reality his acceleration isn't constant. Nope his acceleration is constant..... Because, your instructor has told you so. What he has told you to assume has, freed you from the burden of using calculus.... just do what he says it’s simpler. I am fucking your mom right now

I defiantly still wet behind the ears. (see my 50 jumps) So I obviously am looking at if from new guy eyes so take what I have to say in that respect. I know what you mean though... what really stuck with me and made me think about the possible consequences of the sport is when I was talking to an old timer and he said something to the effect of "once you leave the plane you are a dead man until you pull." Speaking as a new jumper, At my home DZ we do the same thing. If you are jumping a Nav 260 you learn to pack a NAV 260. But have you ever watched a new jumper (like me) try and pack a NAV 260 for their first few packing attempts... there is just too much fabric there to really know what the hell is going on. Just for practice sake I packed an old Raven that was at the DZ. I practice with the raven a few pack jobs and then one of my instructions had me pack his triathlon. After working with the Raven and the Tri I was able to pack the Nav 260 much better. In short, the less slippery the fabric and the less fabric there is the easier it will be for a new jumper to understand what is going on. I am fucking your mom right now

Quote"Best" is always subjective. First you need to know if she wants a flip up or a non-flip up. I have seen visors flip up in freefall so I don't like them. I have also had visors fog up under canopy... The fogging issue was easy to fix, IMO. And I have not had it happen in hundreds of jumps. Personally, I am a fan of the standard Factory Diver.
