Landing in sandy areas the canopy picks up sand that wears on canopy as well as packing area. A friend got back from a boogie out west and the amount of sand was more than we ever see here in Florida, unless you land on the beach -
stand up and pack, I heard. I really don't care how slow it is for a couple jumps. what would you pay to do a dc-3 jump for charity?
-
Maybe I should just Take a trip to Haiti with them and jump before they land.

One was a reserve ride, one was getting out first, first load of the day. I chose both times to sink it in and had no problems, other than a long walk back. and I had a good tale to tell. heck I waited till my 3rd jump to land at the dz. Tandem landed out and my 1st aff I landed out, that was all my fault. Canopy control is important, You life may depend on it. (it does) -
what sizes did para-flite reserves come in?

every week when I need to go on a long test drive. It goes past a couple of DC3's that belong to a non-profit. If the owner says it's ok, (I spoke with them and they say it might be ok IF i do all the work) I thought if i made it a fund raiser for them, we all win. How many jumpers can fit in a DC3, What about the door, what about seat belts. The planes are 25 miles from a dropzone that has had a DC3 many moons ago. Ideas on anything else I am missing or need to look out for? Anyone what to come along?

thanks Mike. I guess I misunderstood, thanks for the update! -
I got some jumps on a pulse 170 over the holidays. I will have to say it more than just ez to land. Got cut off on final and landed cross wind to avoid water knee deep and it landed nicely. Packed nice even under a canopy on a windy day, I just wish they made the center cell out of orange. (they make the optima out of it) to aide finding the center of the canopy. Turns were nice and flew flat and sweet. Always opened on heading and pretty ez to put in the peas. Has anyone towed a small flag? anyone jumping at 1.5 or above? the 170 I'm at 1.3 but thinking about a 150 but my container was to big for a 150. That puts me at 1.47
