  3. Did you read the snopes article? It too has the same quote, this time with some unbiased analysis Performance Designs Factory Team

  6. I remember reading somewhere the mother was a suspect. Story didn't add up and make any sense but I need to validate that is the case. Performance Designs Factory Team
  7. When my house was broken into at gunpoint a few years back, they also hit the perp with kidnapping since they used a firearm to force someone to do something against their will (in this case jamming our house sitter in the closet). I don't think it's uncommon to hit them with as much as you can. Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  8. I find that hard to believe based on his recommendations....Mind throwing out a name? Performance Designs Factory Team
  9. All, Thanks for your support in this raffle (actually been run as a sweep stakes). Any funds generated are to assist in training and competition with gracious support of our sponsors. There have also been questions regarding Florida's gaming laws, and we have made sure to work within the requirements with the assistance of personal qualified in that area. If anyone would like a copy of the game rules they can request them at [email protected] Glad to clear this up, and best of luck to everyone. Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  10. All, I wanted to take a moment to address the concern raised. As I'm sure all of you realize, the cost of sending 10 people all over the world to compete and train is of course outlandish. The raffle was a way for us, with permission from our sponsors, to generate some funds to offset those costs and have a greater presence through competitions world wide we'd otherwise be unable to afford and attend. We are extremely grateful for their support, and yours, and wish those who managed to get a ticket the best of luck. Blues, Ian ps: To be 100% clear - no-one is lining their pockets with a single cent from this
  11. I noticed the Gath's in Cloud Atlas too. Made me smile. I believe though that Gath was originally a surfing helmet. Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

  14. ok...so? Yes I know legend has it that JC was 33. Didn't realize he had a monopoly on it. Clean shaven as superman. Not accurate at all. Product of a NATURAL birth. In our futures, probably a rare event to come too. Not a miracle, just the way it was intended to be. I still think you guys are strrrreeeetching. I mean, I can see WHY people would see those parallels and make those connections, but that seems more to me like they're projecting the intent they want to see (good or bad). I'm going to watch it again tomorrow
  15. Impossible to tell, but at least 1 incident MIGHT have been prevented but I suspect the jumper would have done it anyway. Of course, the other incidents we had that were not related to low turns would have also been prevented if we never ever took off. We should probably all just stop skydiving so that we can never die skydiving Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  16. Yeah, we need a spoiler tag/markup
  17. Well, I didn't take away what you clearly did from the movie. I didn't get any religious feeling from the movie (but I can understand how some may try and draw the parallels) and, frankly, I think you're making a mountain out of a molehill on this. The Superman character has always been boring, to me, so I liked the move away from cannon (especially the ending) and in the irony in that while he was born free, he is still ultimately a slave to his destiny - the very fate his father was trying to save him from on Krypton. 18. Why does it matter? Performance Designs Factory Team
  19. No because injuries happened when the dzo wasn't looking and jumpers tried anyway. no major injuries, fortunately but that was due to luck and low jump volume more than anything else Performance Designs Factory Team
  20. My starting DZ, at the time, was a no hook turn dz. All it ended up doing was creating an environment where we a) Did it anyway when we thought we could get away with it - with some of the most dangerous technique available. b) Led us to downsize way faster than we should have. c) Starved us from good information regarding canopy flight. It wasn't a good thing for understanding canopy flight. YMMV but that was my experience with it. Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  21. I get it, and that's good feedback. Its a bit tough because we dont want to have a 20 minute instructional video (right now). The reality is that we're (I) actually in the process of writing a set of articles discussing this stuff, starting at the top that are meant to cover this topic in depth. Given the recent rash of incidents what we wanted to do was to start getting people really thinking about when they would/would not cutaway altitude wise. Will report the feedback back to the group and we'll see what we can do to tighten it up. Thanks Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

  24. Where do you get this stuff? I've been googling around and can find nothing of the sort, other than his father leaving the family at a young age. Performance Designs Factory Team
